I don't use hour markers at all and when i go live i use the letter a to
stop automation and then use the playlist i have and then when done i
press the letter a again and i go back to the automation that i have .

Do you use hour markers? if so try not using them and see what happens.

Reading with WindowEyes and Station Playlist total playlist time?

2014-11-12 Thread Gerardo Corripio

 HI guys
OK how would I get WindowEyes to read at the bottom of the screen, how
much time is the total playlist? I move with the mouse pointer but for
some reason, it doesn't get to where I'm wanting to read! I've got
Station Playlist 4.3, thus haven't been able to upgrade to spl5, which
is a requirement for the WE set file or scripts to work, thus is there a
way to get a set file for Spl 4.3 and WE? thanks for info; it's very
frustrating working spl like this!

Alternative Broadcasting Software to Station Playlist

2014-11-02 Thread Dane Trethowan

Hep, subject line says everything and this may be round the corner.

I wanted to forward the original eMail on this subject to the list
however the author of same - as it stands - hasn't given me permission
to do so as yet and I respect that.

It is hoped that the product will be available with full accessibility
soon, the developers are actually using JAWS to test their product to
see just how accessible they can make it.

The other good news will be the price, instead of $499 that you pay for
the full Station Playlist suite you'll only need to pay $199 for the
laternative.

Those who are helping the programmers are professional DJ'S and
Broadcasters in their own right having worked in the field for longer
than 10 years so they know their stuff.

I hope to be able to bring the list good tidings in the next couple of
weeks though someone else may beat me to it by forwarding a press
release smile.

As for the new kid on the block, I sent a message to developers to see if NVDA

testing, it appears both SPL and the new kid is written in Delphi and uses
slightly more accessible GUI framework (TDK to be exact), although certain
fields doesn't have any labels at all (the new guy does need scripting in the

I wanted to forward the original eMail on this subject to the list
however the author of same - as it stands - hasn't given me permission
to do so as yet and I respect that.

It is hoped that the product will be available with full accessibility
soon, the developers are actually using JAWS to test their product to
see just how accessible they can make it.

The other good news will be the price, instead of $499 that you pay
for the full Station Playlist suite you'll only need to pay $199 for
 the laternative.

Those who are helping the programmers are professional DJ'S and
Broadcasters in their own right having worked in the field for longer

I hope to be able to bring the list good tidings in the next couple of
weeks though someone else may beat me to it by forwarding a press
 release smile.

Station Playlist add-on for NvDA: 1.0 public beta 1 is now available

2013-12-21 Thread Joseph Lee
Hi folks,

The NVDA add-on for Station Playlist 1.0 public beta 1 is now available.
Based on the JAWS for Windows and Window-Eyes scripts for SPL Studio, this
NVDA add-on provides following features:

. Ability to obtain status for various SPL Studio options such as
microphone on/off, track playback and so on.

. Toggle option announcements between words and beeps.

. Be notified when track is about to end (five seconds by default;
broadcasters will be able to change this value in a future version of the
add-on).

. Control various aspects of SPL Studio from anywhere using a layer
command set.

. Quickly switch to SPL Studio window from any application.

. Small improvements to make SPL Studio usage more friendly for NVDA
users.

The beta can be downloaded from the following link:

http://addons.nvda-project.org/addons/StationPlaylist.en.html

You can read more about the add-on at the following link (for the add-on
guide):

https://bitbucket.org/nvdaaddonteam/stationplaylist/wiki/SPLAddonGuide

Thanks, and looking forward to your feedback as we shape this add-on towards
the final release (sometime in January 2014).

Cheers,

Joseph

2013-12-21 Thread Kevin Minor
Hi Joseph.

The app for NVDA sounds good, but I have a question about it. I have used
both JAWS and Window-Eyes to work with Studio. In each of these, when you
checked the scheduled time a track would start, they reported the actual
time a track would start, instead of reporting the track starting so far
after the hour. For example, Let's say track 2 in the playlist starts 2
minutes after the hour. If I did a two minute and thirty second voice
break, then resumed playback from that point, Window-Eyes and JAWS would
report the correct time of 4 minutes and 30 seconds. The NVDA app still
reported the track starting two minutes after the hour. All other tracks in
JAWS and Window-Eyes would properly report all the track start times after
this track would play. This came in handy to schedule the end of a show, or
the start of the next hour. I hope the app for NVDA works in this case like
the other screen readers I've used. I like to have as many options
available as I can.

Thanks for doing the work on the app for NVDA.

That thing is only for recording voice intro/outtro tracks. The option
which was previously mentioned is found in the Station Playlist Studio
main window under the Output tab, Recording subtab. However, and I may
be mistaken in this, this option may only be available with the Pro
license.

An equally good way to get the job done is to fake connecting to a
broadcast server with the plugin and DSP of your choice. The way you
fake it is to set the reconnect time high so you don't keep trying to
do it every two seconds, then plug in a fake accress, preferably one
that doesn't translate to anything real. Best way to do that is to
either make it blank or put an exclamation point in front of whatever
you have set up that's otherwise valid. In this way, you can use your
favorite compresser/limiter plugin and have it applied to the audio in
the MP3. Saves you a step later. Only thing you'll have to do is trim
the beginning because the archive file gets created immediately, then
you start playing your program into it.

RE: Station Playlist, was, Looking for Info on meeting Accessible Internet Broadcasting Needs

2013-10-10 Thread Humberto Rodriguez
Hello Larry:

SPL works on hourly playlists which you may create by hand or whose
automation you may achieve using another software they offer called Creator.
You can include spots, time whether, etc and you can use quick keys to
insert short messages, such as station or program identification, etc.

You could talk over whatever is playing by merely pressing a key. If you do
your program live to a few stations, you can encode the signal and stream it
to the servers simultaneously, while at the same time, you record what you
are transmitting.

If you merely want to record your program and edit the audio, adding to it
everything else you need, it is an overkill. In that case you could record
with any number of programs, like Total Recorder, Soundforge, Gold Wave,
Audacity, or digital recorders, later edit it with another large number of
programs, such as Total Recorder, Soundforge, Gold Wave or Audacity, and
finally, upload it to as many stations you want, using FTP or SFTP.

Internet Broadcasting Needs

Hi there. As was kindly suggested earlier in this thread, I have taken a
look at Station Playlist and it looks like an amazing automation package, at
least according to the testimonials posted on their website. I didn't see a
lot of software description by the developers themselves, but maybe I was
looking in the wrong place.

The information that I could find on Station Playlist lead to the following
concern. Since I will be recording a show and delivering it to subscribing
Internet stations in a yet to be determined format, how would station
playlist benefit me. I'm sure it would, as I've seen it mentioned here
before. But thus far I've been unable to discover how it can play a role in
my project, as I will be marketing a show rather than launching an Internet
station..

Undoubtedly I'm missing something. So feel free to set me straight. Any
thoughts are welcomed and appreciated.

I think most stations have an FTP site that programs can be

Hi. I have it in mind to market a syndicated show to
Internet radio stations. Content will consist of music and my
 voice.

The microphone is not an issue. Beyond that, my problem is
that I don't know where to start when it comes to what I need
in order to use the computer to perform and record my audio.
For instance, as a DJ, what's the best way to get music onto
the computer while making it flow as one would a traditional
radio show? Hardware? Software? Additionally, I'm not certain
of the best tools to use for getting my audio to the online
stations who will play it. Using either windows or the Mac,
what would you suggest for any aspect of my project. As a
blind person on a bit of a budget, I am seeking accessible
ideas that are as economical as possible.

I currently record my weekly show using SPL with the .wav audio format.
Then I convert it to MP3 for later distribution which you would be doing anyway.

Hi All,

I work for an agency for the blind that has a radio reading service. We use
Station Playlist software run our automation system. We are having two major
problems with Station Playlist Studio at the moment which I hope you can
help me solve.

The first issue is that Studio isn't topping up properly. We have it set up
to top up short hours automatically, and we have told Studio where the
top-ups folder is. It still doesn't use them. It will restart the hour
instead and play until it's time for the ID. We did find several files in
the top-ups folder that were not audio files, and we removed them. It still
doesn't work.

The other problem is that every once in a while Studio and/or Creator starts
to think it's the wrong day. For example, it will play Friday's programs on
Thursday. At midnight it puts itself right again, but this is annoying. Our
clock settings in the computer are correct. I'd appreciate any ideas you may
have to help resolve these problems. Thank

Station Playlist Scripts Version 3.5 for Window-Eyes are now Available

2011-10-31 Thread Steve Pattison

Hi all,

Station Playlist Scripts Version 3.5 for Window-Eyes are now Available.
Below are the changes in this version of the scripts.

Regards Steve.

GW Toolkit Version 8.4.2 or later is required for this release.
Custom Request List Reading Settings have been implemented. This new
functionality
relates to the new window in Studio which is access from the View Menu
followed by
the Listeners Requests (Control-Q) command. This includes the ability to
control
which columns and headers are spoken as well as the utilization of
Enhanced Arrow
keys within the Request List window. The Custom Track List configuration
dialog has
been enhanced to allow for both the Track List or the Request List to be
configured.
The determination is based on what menu item is selected from the
Scripts menu in

the Window-Eyes control panel.
If an item is added to the Play List that is a Requested track (through
the use of
the Request window or break code) then a tone will play when it gains
focus. In addition,

you will hear the name of the person who requested the track.
Key Toggle Announcements such as the Microphone, Pause key, Mute status,
etc, can
now be either announced via speech or a short series of tones can be
played to alert
the user. Toggle between settings with Control-Shift-S. A sound can be
configured
to play when the feature is enabled and disabled. These sounds can be
configured

in the StationPlaylist Studio Script Preferences.
Reorganized the Script Menus for the Studio scripts and added many new
options. The
new options were removed as hotkeys from the Studio Scripts to
consolidate all configuration

logic into the menus with the exception of the Preferences dialog.
Removed the following hotkeys: Studio Key Help (Insert-W - merged with
standard help
in Insert-H), Watch Event Resets, Email Author, Select Sound Card,
Hotkey Global
State Manager, Alert Time Settings, Time Interval Settings and Custom
Track List
Reading Settings. They are still available from the Apps menu in
Window-Eyes.
The Track List Find functionality was re-organized. No change should be
seen by end-users.

Fixed an issue with the GetStaticText function on shutdown of Studio.
Fixed a reported bug in the GetControlKeys function.
Corrected the dash key for cart assignments in Cart Learn Mode.
Pressing the key

would generate an error in Cart Learn Mode.
Very extensive manual updates have been made.

Station Playlist Studio Scripts version 3.4.2 for Window-Eyes are now Available

2011-06-30 Thread Steve Pattison
Station Playlist Studio Scripts version 3.4.2 for Window-Eyes are now
available. Here are the changes in this version:

By popular demand, Window-Eyes 7.2 or later will now work with the
Studio scripts.
GW Toolkit Version 8.3.7 or later is required for this release.
Watch Event Tracking Reset capability is now provided. Press Control-Insert-R to
invoke the feature. You may use this if you feel alerts are not being performed
as
you might expect.
Toggle Warning type Alert notifications from speech to a tone with the
Control-Shift-W
key.
A change to the Braille Clock time has been made. In prior versions a key on the
Braille display had to be pressed to turn off the Clock display. Now, pressing
the
Time hotkey (Insert-T) twice quickly while Braille is showing the time will
cancel
the display.
The Messages configuration dialog hotkey has been removed so that it doesn't
conflict
with
Qwitter
. The function can still be accessed by using the Scripts or Apps menu depending
on your version of Window-Eyes.
A bug with removing messages from the Messages dialog has been fixed.
The Message Maintenance functionality now only allows for Beginner and Advanced
message
strings. Intermediate messages have been removed from the treeview. Those
messages
previously defined as Intermediate will be treated as Advanced messages. During
the
installation process prior messages that were defined as Intermediate are
migrated
to Advanced Messages unless an Advanced Message already exists. In that case the
item will be removed.
Added logic to the CheckForChangedKeys function so that Key Functions that get
renamed
from version to version are now updated without user-intervention. This insures
that
all functionality continues from version to version.
Debug data logic is now written to a separate log file.
The City List now doesn't show the SamEncoder Hotkeys as a city name.
Corrected the Script Menu Use Different Sound Card logic.
A small number of manual updates were made.

available and can be downloaded from Script Central at

Here are the changes in this version of the scripts:

StationPlaylist Studio version 4.3.3 or later is required for this release.
GW Toolkit Version 8.3 is required for this release.
Made the Listener Statistics key global.
Added more friendly prompts in the Studio Options dialogs to make Studio setup
much
easier.
Repaired a bug in the MoveCustomMessagesToHelpDictionary function. This is code
that
moves custom messages defined by the user into the help text of the Studio
script.
Fixed an issue with editing the Warning Sound File in the preferences dialog.
Made minor corrections to the manual.

Hi listers. Wonder if somebody can advise please.

I've got a problem where I'm getting a pop/click noise when I press
play on a track, and I've got at least one track which starts very
quietly and the first few seconds are not being played (the clock
shows that it's playing from 00:00, but it's cutting off the first bar
where the song fades up). I've been recording practice shows, and the
click is also audible on the archives of my recordings. It's been
suggested to me that this might be a problem with my cross fading
settings, but if so I don't know how to fix it, and if not then I
don't have a clue what the problem is. My current settings are:

Automatic cross fading: yes
Cross fader cue at: minus 30
Cross fader segue at: minus 14
Cross fader DB: minus 8
First cross fader box: 2.5
Second cross fader box: 10.0
Cross fade spots: yes
Cross fade voice tracks: no

If anyone can advise on how to fix this I'd be very grateful.

Many thanks, Danny

Hi Bob. I think you can go through the options dialogue and
uncheck

the box which is defaulted to cross fading. If this option is
removed, tracks will not have their volumes faded at the end, so
you

shouldn't lose any vocals. However, I've only been using the
programme for a week or so, so maybe somebody more experienced
will

confirm or contradict this.

And, whilst I'm here, I have my own (more vague) Station
Playlist
question. I'm using Studio Pro on a laptop with one soundcard
and no
mixer. I've enabled my microphone, but either my microphone
settings,

input/output settings or monitoring settings are faulty. When I
toggle the mic on I can't hear anything in my headphones. When
I
toggle the mic off again I hear my vocals for about half a
second

before it goes quiet again. I know this is quite a wide-ranging
question, but can anybody please advise on which setting might
be
wrong? I've read the help information which relates to the
settings
but I'm horribly confused with all of the input mixers and
output

mixers etc (especially as I'm not using a mixer at all).

Sorry for the basic question, but any help will be appreciated.

Yes you can. 1. Record your verbal greeting. 2. Move it from
your

Olympus
to your PC (you don't have to do this so long as you keep your
Olympus
connected to the PC throughout the process). 3. Launch Gold
Wave and

open
the music file you wish to use. 4. Now with Gold Wave open the
greeting
you recorded. 5. While in this file do a control+A to select
all the

file
then control+C to copy to the clipboard. 6. Press control+tab
to take

you
to the music file you already opened. 7. Press ALT and arrow
right to

edit
and then go down until you come to Mix and press enter. 8. You
will now
land on the part where you decide at what point you want the mix
to

start.
It starts with hours then minutes then seconds and finally
fractions of

a
second. 9. Once you have decided where you want the mix to
begin press

the
tab key once and then the space bar to hear a preview. 10. If
you are
happy with the preview, tab to OK and press the space bar then
save your

file and that's it done. Walter.

Ok, I don't own a mixer at this time, but I'd like to record a

and
then place some music under it. Can this be done with Goldwave?
Last

I did this we just recorded on the Olympus while standing near a

but it sounded like it. lol

Thanks.

Hi Bob. I think you can go through the options dialogue and uncheck
the box which is defaulted to cross fading. If this option is
removed, tracks will not have their volumes faded at the end, so you
shouldn't lose any vocals. However, I've only been using the
programme for a week or so, so maybe somebody more experienced will
 confirm or contradict this.

And, whilst I'm here, I have my own (more vague) Station Playlist
question. I'm using Studio Pro on a laptop with one soundcard and no
mixer. I've enabled my microphone, but either my microphone settings,
input/output settings or monitoring settings are faulty. When I
toggle the mic on I can't hear anything in my headphones. When I
toggle the mic off again I hear my vocals for about half a second
before it goes quiet again. I know this is quite a wide-ranging
question, but can anybody please advise on which setting might be
wrong? I've read the help information which relates to the settings
but I'm horribly confused with all of the input mixers and output
mixers etc (especially as I'm not using a mixer at all).

Sorry for the basic question, but any help will be appreciated.

Re: adjustments to station playlist

2010-12-18 Thread Bob Seed
In my case we are using voice messages only, and there is no need for cross
fading, just a fraction of a second for the transission of moving from one
item to another. The information loop is very fast, as it moves from item to
item. That fraction of a second would split things up quite nicely. .

I want the microphone and audio to be processed through the computer dsp

Ok, cool. Part of my question to you arose from the fact that I have the
mixer being recorded by goldwave and in goldwave when you hit the record
command control f9, the input source options come up giving you choices
ranging from the name of the sound card being used to something called
input. I usually choose input and that records the mixer and the mics but
the compression doesn't work with the mics as it does with the station
playlist tracks which are coming into that same mixer.

station playlist and usb microphone

2010-11-24 Thread Dan Kysor
I am using a hardware type mixer and was wondering if anyone can answer this
question:

I want the microphone and audio to be processed through the computer dsp
compressor. The music is but not the stereo mics. So, would I then need to
put the usb mic on the pc? Thanks in advance.

cart edit key in station playlist studio

2010-06-12 Thread russell Bourgoin

Hi,

I was trying to assign some clips to carts in station
playlist studio. When I tried the control-t keystroke, I was told
that cart edit key was not enabled. Does anyone out there know what
step I missed in my attempt? I had planned to play little
prerecorded snippits to play while a song was playing, but the key
combo wouldn't work.

carts in station playlist

2010-06-08 Thread russell Bourgoin

Hi Guys and gals,

I'm doing a wedding on Saturday and I'm planning to use
station playlist studio for my music player. I'm wondering if I
pre-record announcements, the folks entering the hall in the wedding
party, dedications of particular tunes, etc, can I assign these
pre-recorded announcements to various ccartss and play them as the
appropriate music is playing in the background? If anyone has any
helpful advice, I'd love to hear it. These are folks who are working
for the Winchendon Council on Aging, my regular rides for blood tests
and doctor's visits, and I'd like to do them a great job. Thanks, in
advance, for anything helpful!

Hi Mario, this echo is a result of audio being processed through

two sound cards and stream externally through StationPlaylist Streamer.

Hi
I'm considering buying Station Playlist and would like to hear from those who
use it how accessible it is. I already know that the Studio version as scripts
for Jaws, but I think this is for the 'standard' version.
What I'd like to know is:
1. Is the Pro version of Studio covered by this accessibility (Jaws scripts)
2. Is 'Creator' (standard or pro) accessible too. (There's a bundled deal and
it would make sense to get it if it's accessible to Jaws)
3. Will all this work in Windows 7
I'd value any comments or help.
Thanks.

There are lots of people on this list, including myself, who use it

things first.

1. Are you using both Studio and Creator?

2. If you are using both, do you understand the basic concepts of
Creator--categories, spot groups, rotations, schedules, etc., and what
to do with them?

3. In Studio, are you intending to use it as an Internet broadcasting
tool or as a DJ tool?

Answering these three basic questions will help anyone in here who
