Re: program to turn text files into audio files but using eloquence

2011-09-22 Thread David Tanner
Well, an easy way to accomplish what you want would be to take the text file
into either DocuScan Plus and have it make a MP3 of the document or you
could also use OpenBook to do this too as long as you use Eloquence as your
default synthesizor.

Hi all,
I don't use biblos, but I'm Italian. I went on its author website and I read
the last version of biblos is not free, but here's one that is, always on
his website.
http://www.digrande.it/pages/download/download.asp?file=biblosfree.
It says between the supported languages there's English aswell.

Isn't there a tool in Goldwave that does this? It uses the default
SAPI speech engine or you can choose from amongst multiple SAPI voices
if you have multiple voices installed.

Hi all

I know there are several programs that would allow you to turn text

However, I find the very odd phrasing of especially the realspeak

Hence my question: Has anyone ever written such a programme which

voice, it then uses the british voice as it is already installed on
your

Just curious.

2011-09-21 Thread Kevin Cussick
There used to be a bit of software called biblos I am not sure I have
the spelling correct.

Anyway this software used the eloquence from Jaws, it will not use any
other voices on your computer just jaws I used to use this but no longer
use it. it did work well Google it and you might still get it.

Most likely it won't as it doesn't work with Vista.

Hi Robert. I was wondering about getting a usb powered speaker that wasn't
also a sound card. Guess I could just get a full usb speak and disable my
on board sound card to free up resources.

Again. Just looking for a simple small solution for speech and system sound
output.

BTW: I am trying out some Creative t10 powered speakers. Darn good for the
price but to good for Eloquence. They just have to much bass.

the speakers I had were not part of a soundcard they were stand alone. They
were powered by the USB port and an audio cable connected to the line out on

Winamp with JAWS/Eloquence not working

2007-04-01 Thread Howard Traxler
Hello PC-Audio folks,
When I got my computer, an Asus system board with integrated Sound Max
audio, running XP Home and JAWS 5.x, JAWS and any other sound came out the
same speakers just fine. Something I must have done makes Winamp stop with
an error message when they need to share the sound card. The only other
thing that might interfere is Total Recorder, but I think I took that out of
the way. To play anything in Winamp, I now have to set JAWS to No
Speech--like the old days when a single soundcard couldn't handle both
sources.

Can anyone suggest something to try?

Thanks.

2005-01-29 Thread R Q J
Hi Bradford,
No, Eloquence does not block the mike.
If sound recorder is recording Jaws, then you probably have,
" what you hear", checked in the volume control.
That is, if you have a SoundBlaster soundcard.
If you have another brand of soundcard, the same control may have a
different name,
such as, "stereo mixer".
You should probably check out the volume control settings first.

Hello,
Does Eloquence block the mic input on a soundcard. When I test my
mic, I can't hear anything, but when I run Sound Recorder, it's
picking up Jaws. Am I "mis-wired"? or what?
Thanks,
Brad

RE: Eloquence and sound recording was Microphones for the computermicrophones for computer

2005-01-29 Thread Blind Melon Chitlin
Hi,
You will have to select the correct
input on the mixer control in windows
press start button, click accessories, click entertainment, click volume
control
no go to the options menu, pull it down with the alt key, arrow down to
properties, press enter, press tab once, you are now on the radio button
to select playback or recoring, arrow down to recording, now press tab
again, your now in the list of available controls in the recording
mixer. Make sure micorphone is selected, and deselect all the otehrs,
this is done by pressing space bar
I deselect all the others so it makes it easier to press the select
button once your back on the main mixer window.

hth

Noise from sound card and Eloquence

2004-06-30 Thread Peter Scanlon
I have seen info posted here about how to stop unwanted
static/hiss that is created after words or sentences spoken with JFW and
Eloquence and sound cards, Sound Blaster and maybe others.

Is there a Web Site or some info that I can read on how to stop this.
I am using an on-board sound card and a friend is using Sound Blaster and
gets simillar effect.

Hi folks,
I've been using CDex for a very long time to rip my audio to mp3's.
However, the other day it took over an hour to rip a perfectly clean

the CD-rom options tab, but it still takes much longer than I would like.
So, I'm now seeking oppinions for the best ripper; which is the quickest?
Which supports mp3 and ogg natively? What would be the advantages of
using something like Winamp Pro over EZCDDA Extractor, etc? The laptop
I'm using is a Dell Latitude C600 with a Dell 24x CDRW/DVD-ROM combo drive.
Thanks for any assistance,
