Well, with ie10 and windows 7 x64 and Window-eyes, near the top of the
regular page it says library, if I click on that the page I get has
where you can search your entries for the past six months, and I think I
can download from that page, the download manager has been kind of
funky, but I did manage to do it.

Hope this helps.

You go to schedule under tools and add an item and you can background
record from there -- I use it a lot and it works great, but you must
give the actual URL of the recording, so it won't work with flash.

hmmm, do you have the same sound card in your old machine as in the new

Re: total recorder questions

2014-02-12 Thread covici
Your problem is a bug and you have to go into your processes and close
it manually. I would love a solution -- this happens to me all the
time, I just close the program either in the process tree, or with a
nice powershell command I found. Then once closed you have to restore
your system sounds, if you have them turned off in total recorder.

Use a mixer -- you can get them cheaply if you do not need too many
inputs -- this will tend to isolate the components.

Re: Tecsun PL880 Radio Arrived Today

2014-04-03 Thread covici
I just got mine as well and its seems quite nice -- my environment is
not great -- two computers running, but the radio does very well in the
short wave and fm bands and the am is not bad at all. I was unable to
activate some of the hidden features, however -- holding down the 9
key had no effect whatsoever.

One nice feature is if you are using ssb the band controls cycle through
the ham bands, if you switch to normal the band selector cycles through
the broadcast ones.

I was able to set a preset on page 0, but when I was on sw and pressed
memory twice, it mixed it in with the ones I had on FM, so that was
confusing for me. Also, I was having trouble entering them with the
keypad, maybe you have to enter the page number, but that always did not
work, if I were on another page.

This is a characteristic of bluetooth, maybe airplay i.e. over your wifi
network would work better, but USB would do best, with the mixers these
days all having some kind of USB output. I don't know if there is a USB
Y-connector, but it would have to be powered, most likely.

Re: victor Reader Stream V Book Sense

2009-12-23 Thread covici
I have never even used the VR's native transfer. I got a card reader
and its not hard to just copy the files on the card. They have software
to do this as well, but I never felt the need for such software.

The stream already plays mp3,ogg and I think wma, but am not sure of the
wma. I never used it, but I am pretty sure it plays wav as well.

No, the usb cable is to connect the player to your computer in case you

During recording system sounds are muted by default, I guess that would
include speech. But if not then the speech would go on the recording --
yay for hardware synths.

Re: RECORDING FROM YOU TUBE DOT COM

Don't get too excited about the quality of the files from youtube, they
are meant to be flash files, so maybe total recorder will download them
and keep them that way and you can convert them to what you want. I
think the video is an addon for total recorder.

Re: Accessible Audio Editors etc

Hi. I just tried the software and although the menues spoke, I opened a
.wav file and could not see much in it -- furthermore, I could not press
any buttons in the preferences dialog and some other places and have
them work and even the space bar in the file, even though it said
play/pause, did not play -- the only thing which made it play was going
into the menues and selecting play from the action menu.

Have you gotten any better results?

Re: What's the best Internet radio recorder.

2010-12-25 Thread covici
I used replay for a long time, but the newest version has some very
strange quirks -- particularly if you have it start when windows starts
-- at least when using windows 7, so I switched to total recorder for
scheduling recordings and so far it has worked well.

Re: To all Total Recorder tutorials

Well, you can have it check the URL when you first make the job, its
somewhat tricky to use, but it will tell you what it finds and you can
see if its a real stream, or a player of some kind.

Yep, it does work exactly that way -- I don't know what you were looking

hmmm, all I do is set the job to background recording, maybe you set it
to record instead? Works for most streams, and if you can give the
direct URL to the stream, so much the better.

Background recording should do the job, the stream is gotten directly
from the source, so no interference from the screen reader.

If its using flash, you may need the video pro edition. What you can
try is to use the check function when you reach the open url dialog
box. If you get the audio to start the actual URL will be shown and put
that in the scheduler.

Did you change the URL to the one listed in a list box which would be
