I bet you have an evening's worth of work uploading photos now :o)
It's funny you should mention the rules there; I was looking through
some of the photos that needed votes and noticed several with a
watermark/company name clearly displayed on the corners. I thought
that was also against the rules, a quick check just now confirms it.
Will they be filtered out by the judges? They were pretty nice
photos, and it's too bad if they get excluded.

Re: Pentax Gallery rules

2007-08-31 Thread Bruce Dayton
Not necessarily - I have rarely had anyone ask me about lenses I am
using - but very often which camera. Wouldn't it make some sense that
someone could create a great image with a Pentax SLR and a third party
lens? When I bought my Sigma 100-300/4 EX lens I was looking for high
optical quality and speed in a lens of about that focal length range.
Guess what Pentax had to offer? FA 80-320/4.5-5.6 - not even in the
same league (I had one at one point in time). So I have shots that
would show the bodie is capable of good work, why not show it as well?

So someone looking in the gallery might be thinking about buying a
Pentax - so all images shown would give some indication of what they
might expect (or could do).

I went ahead and submitted a couple from different lenses - and marked
them accordingly in the comments - we'll see if they throw them all
out or not.

I don't really forsee that people would use the gallery to determine which
lenses produced what image, even though it might be of interest to a few. I
suspect that if Pentax is using this gallery as an advertising tool, what
