I doubt it was Ashcroft's doing, (not to defend him really, but), this kind of behavior has been going on for years. Mall's are not public places and most have prohibited photographs for security reasons for a very long time. They are very inconsistent enforcing the rules unless a store owner complains. I think that they are really trying to avoid evidence for use in lawsuits. RE: goin' to the chapel...
Congratulations, Amita, and my best wishes to you and your betrothed. Thanks! Where's the wedding going to be? On Long Island's North Fork, in an old Presybterian church. Very photogenic. ;) And the honeymoon? In the Finger Lakes of upstate NY, two weeks after the wedding. And what type of system will the wedding photog be using? Bronica, with both bw and color film. My maid of honor will use a Pentax to take pix of the girls as we're getting ready. I will also have both my Pentax bodies, my Rollei PS, and the Optio during the weekend. I'll have a drink for you on the weekend (I'll be having a drink anyway, so I might as well toast one for you... g). Haha...thanks! :)
RE: goin' to the chapel...
If only...the church doesn't allow photos during the ceremony. :P I have this irresistible image of a wedding of photographers where most of the guests are also photographers. When something pivotal happens, 257 flashes go off and the entire church is blinded.

I'd like to thank everyone for helping me find a wedding photographer. As it turns out, my maid of honor and her fiance are both photographers, so we're using the both of them. I am planning to have my Optio with me that day, although I don't know if I'll have much time to use it. But I'm hoping to have something from that day to post to the PUG! Amita

And the pro photographer who's been hired to shoot the wedding is using Wein Pnut slaves on his flashes. . . . Congratulations Amita, I wish you every happiness! I don't seriously expect you to have time to take photos on your wedding day, but who knows?
