says it is picking up 707 covers. Covers will show up in the now
playing section but not one shows in the chooser. I have art as
folder.jpg in each albums directory and some files have it embedded as
 tags. Any ideas? Thanks, Paul

Hi Paul,

The now playing and library thumbnails do things slightly differently.

Is it just the cover chooser, or does the library tab have the same
problem ?

Also, by default Moose creates a 'thumbs' folder alongside the .exe in
which it stores thumbnails. Could you have a look in here and see if it's
created them..

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Moose and multiple Artist tags

2007-06-21 Thread Dr Lovegrove
Hmmm, well, I cant repeat the problem in Moose no matter what I do - it
always puts the Chris Botti album in the various artists group.

I managed to get WMP to tag the files, but it only gives them 1 artist tag
per track (albeit with multiple artists in the tag). All the tracks get the band
tag, and Moose assumes the album to be a various artists album as not all
of the artist tags match.

Slimserver seems to use both bands and artists, so the album appears in
all combinations, but only the band tag of Chris Botti has the whole album.
I guess that's the correct behaviour considering the tags..

Maybe the thing to do is get Moose to look at the band tag if it suspects an
album is a various artists, then list it under band rather than VA. Im a bit
suprised you're not seeing it in the VA group in Moose though.

Is there any way of exporting all your tags in mp3tag so that I can apply
them to my set of files ?

1) Great work, this is quite cool
2) I use a lot of remote streaming (office, country house..)on

Can I build (moo file + thumbs folder) once and copy it to any PC. I
find the remote rebuild very, too much, too long, that is compared to
downloading the moo+thumbs.
When I tried it said it was out of date moo file...
3) Do we still need to vote for bug 4595 (to browse folder...)

Thank you Doc!

Yes, you should be able to copy moo files around. I've started sharing
a central one at home now and have a few moose's using it, although
there are issues when it gets updated.

When Slimserver rescans or adds stuff to its database, all its IDs can
change, so Moose has to do a total rescan to be safe. Moose checks
when slimserver last changed the database and suggests you rescan
if it was later than its own last rescan. You should only get this warning
if Slimserver's done something with its database though.

I keep meaning to improve the thumbnail re-caching a bit.. Currently it
re-fetches and replaces lots of perfectly happy thumbnails.. This should
help speed rescans up quite a bit hopefully..

 3) Do we still need to vote for bug 4595 (to browse folder...)

Ah, no, the browse folder stuff's in there now I think, although it'll only
work on recent SS7's.. I intend to improve support for it beyond the
tree-view at some point..

2007-06-21 Thread Jon

Dr Lovegrove;210166 Wrote:

apply them to my set of files ?

I tried ... unfortunately, MP3tag is extracting just a single ARTIST
per track. I also tried exporting them with TagRename ... same
result.

The interesting thing, however, is this: in situations where multiple
ARTIST tags exist, MP3tag appears to be choosing the longest of the
ARTIST strings. Meanwhile, TagRename is choosing what appears to be
the first of the multiple ARTIST strings (which is always the actual
artist).

I'll attach those export files so you don't think I'm completely loony
:-) Note, these files are actually .html files, but I had to rename
them as .txt so that this forum would allow me to upload them (you'll
want to change them back).

Worst case, if this can't be fixed ... I did a quick visual scan of my
albums in the Library Tree, and it appears (as best as I can tell from
a quick visual inspection of 800+ albums) that only a dozen or so
albums suffer from this multiple ARTIST tag situation, so it shouldn't
be too bad for me to fix these manually.

Easiest way to get softsqueeze working is to do it via the web
interface:

1) enter computer A's ip address with port 9000 (for example,
http://192.168.1.2:9000) into a web browser (not softsqueeze) on
computer B

2) The slimserver web interface should appear--if it does not appear at
this point then computer A is either not running slimserver or is
running a firewall blocking requests to port 9000 -- be sure you've
opened 9000 and 3483 on computer A.

3) click the link for softsqueeze near the bottom in the left panel
of the web interface

4) follow the instructions to click to install and run softsqueeze

5) softsqueeze should download and start with all the correct
connection parameters configured -- it should just work!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.56

2007-06-21 Thread atz6975

Hey again doc,
really cool stuff!!!
The one thing(for the moment) :
1) What I used to do with CDs when wandering (instead of precise idea)
2) Browse the covers...
3) Stop on one...
4) Flip it to read the track list
5) Start with one song and the rest random (I use to choose my CD
players if they allowed 1st song random)

Well how about adding some extra horns to the Moose, especially the
cover chooser :
1) As it is
2) Humm, i stay (hover mouse) a bit longer on one album
3) Display track list
4) Right click : start with Random (actually can be set @ player
level)

Well what I mean is that I would love to acces tracks from Cover
chooser.

Anyway, great work.

PS: Moo+thumbs moving doesn't work...will try harder (how?)

[SlimDevices: Plugins] SQLPlaylist plugin: play one album then shut off?

2007-06-21 Thread Marc Sherman
I'd like to create a playlist that plays a single randomly chosen album
from a specific genre (Lullaby), and then shuts off the squeezebox.

I _think_ that SQLPlaylist can be configured to do this, but I'm not
sure. I have a few questions:

1) How do I tell it to just play a single random album, instead of
always adding another album to the end of the list when there's less
than 10 tracks left?

2) Am I correct in thinking that a PlaylistStopAction1:cli: parameter
can be used to shut off the squeezebox at the end of the playlist?

Thanks,
- Marc

It's a Windows based front end to slimserver. A much faster and
prettier front end than the standard web interface.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Problems with Last FM

2007-06-21 Thread ptorpey

I installed Last FM + the Scrobler version 0.37.5 by following the
instructions to copy the unzipped folders into the Slim Server Plug-in
directory on my Windows PC.

Going into the Slim Server software on my PC into the Server Settings /
Plug-Ins, I can see that both the Last FM and Scrobbler are checked.
However,

1. Last FM does not appear in my list of Internet radios, and
2. There is no place for entering a user name and/or password in
either the Settings Plug-in page or the Internet radio page of the Slim
Server software.

I closed and restarted the software, but still no luck. Any ideas?

Thanks.
