Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
@Gordon: Thank you for your answer. My Ubuntu machine is intended to be a pure music server, and most of the time there is no need for any shutdown blocking feature. Anyhow, besides periodic maintenance, there are times when I try to get more into the Linux thing. If there is no other way, I will have to remember to switch off the idle player monitor item to prevent the server from getting suspended. I am not really getting in trouble with this, regarding that SrvrPowerCtrl in my case doesn't shut down the server. So I am able to continue interrupted operations after reactivation. gharris999;587344 Wrote: In the mean time, though, there is a way to inhibit SrvrPowerCtrl's actions. On the SrvrPowerCtrl web page (not the settings page, but rather the web page linked to on SBS's extras menu item) you can select the Block Shutdown/Suspend/etc. item and SrvrPowerCtrl will be inhibited from suspending the server. Thanks for the new version. If the iPhone 4 goes to sleep when iPeng is synching the cache the sync seems to just get stuck and never resume. Is this normal? I notice that the new music page now refreshes every time it is opened which takes a while. Looks like playWMA has not been installed properly as the log does not show any processing of the URL or perhaps you have missed that part of the log. Open the log window before you start the test to see early messages. Otherwise copy from the server.log file itself - all message are kept. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] PlayWma does not work in 7.5.1
What happens next ? The next few lines in the log file are important until play attempt fails and as I said before sometimes it is the lines that are missing that indicate the problem. You can copy a lot more log lines if you save them in a text file, zip it and then attach text file to a post. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83086 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] PlayWma does not work in 7.5.1
Sorry, you are right. The path is the same as the script. Then what do you think is the issue ? I noticed that mplayer, takes about 20-30 seconds then it locks on the station after a delay. I tried to increase the station acquisition time to max, but that did not help. Could it be a privilege issue to run mplayer ? -- mitrih mitrih's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7800 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83086 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] PlayWma does not work in 7.5.1
I might have a hint, I was fiddling around with mplayer form the shell, I had to add a \ ( backslash) in front of the empty space in Mplayer\ OSX.app directory, to make mplayer work. I tried to modify that in the script but that did not work. Maybe that will give you an idea. Essentially if I do, the following window shell, the station comes on. Without the \ it does not work /Applications/MPlayer\ OSX.app/Contents/Resources/External_Binaries/mplayer.app/Contents/MacOS/mplayer mms://64.225.157.204/sawtfm1 Oh I love linux!! -- mitrih mitrih's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7800 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83086 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] PlayWma does not work in 7.5.1
The directory string is already quoted (i.e. surrounded by ) and so spaces are handled correctly unless OSX shell is non standard. Anyway the script is identical to the one in the last version of AlienBBC which you say works. The plugin checks for mplayer and you can see the status in the plugins Settings pages - it should read installed. Alternative possibilities relate to the wmaplayer.sh script - check ownership and permissions. You should also check whether the version of flac installed in SBS Bin directory works OK. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83086 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Hey all - I am writing for both myself and my parents - they have the original and I have version 2 of the squeezbox. As wtih everyone else things were working fine till weather.com broke it all! I have gone through this theread and tried all the fixes - from downloading files and renaming - to deleting files - to deleting the plug in and starting with a fresh install - to finially today... Today I deleted everything squeezebox related on my win 7 computer - everything - downloaded fresh new copies of the server and of the plug - in. Have everything configured as I used to have it %1 %t / %f That is all I use - no sports - no wind - no humidity - just the time, current temp/feels like - And what I have is what I had - time (that works great) and the degree symbol followwed by / then the degree symbol and ? That is what this has read for a long time now - and after a fresh install of everything I really do not have a clue what to try. I am hoping there is some small setting I forget to send - but I am very open to any and all suggestions. Not only do I find it annoyning, my wife is on me as are my parents because in their home it says the same thing - can someone help save me from my hell! :) -- scottmd1 scottmd1's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=567 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=14327 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

AlienBBC did not work either on MAC, it only worked on my PC. I did downgrade as I mentioned on the MAC but Alien had the same issue on the MAC. I already checked the status of the plug in, it says mplayer installed. but I have no way to test that ( on the PC, Alien shows a test link, but not on Mac). I will check the executable permission of the script maybe that is the issue. do you think I can type the script name on the shell with the station, should that work ?? (if you can point me to a way to test the script thru SC that would be great) not familiar with the flac recommendation, how do I check that this works. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
I've updated the plugin to version 1.1.0 The main changes in this release are internal to make use of the updated version of libspotify (0.0.6) released last week. There are two visible changes: - support of playlist folders, your playlists should now display in the hierarchy defined by the spotify desktop application - use of the normal server preference for title display in now playing on classic players (as requested by a couple of people here) Please update in the normal way, this will include replacement of the spotify library with the latest version. Please post feedback to confirm this new version is working - I have tested on all three target platforms, but there are more changes with this release, so it would be good to get confirmation it is working in each version (windows, mac and linux). -- Triode Triode's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79706 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Then, from the SBS home page, click on the Extras link and then on Server Power Control. You should see Block Shutdown/Suspend/etc. as the bottom menu item. You have two other ways of temporarily inhibiting SrvrPowerCtrl's idle monitoring: From a shell prompt, try this command: Code: # echo srvrpowerctrl setblock blip viacli | /bin/nc 127.0.0.1 9090 That cli command will set a block on the idle monitor. You can verify that the block was set by navigating to the Extras-Server Power Control page on the webUI. The bottom menu item should now read Clear Block. You can also clear the block with: Code: # echo srvrpowerctrl clearblock blip viacli | /bin/nc 127.0.0.1 9090 Finally, you can set also set a block simply by creating the file 'spc-block' in the /var/lock directory: Code: # touch /var/lock/spc-block You could create a desktop launcher under gnome to set a block using any of those methods so as to have an easy way to inhibit SrvrPowerCtrl from a desktop icon. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The playWMA plugin has not been set up for 7.6. Its maxversion is 7.5.* - you would need to modify the maxversion in its install.xml to force it to work. I checked the script it has 700 permission, I changed it to 755 but that was not the issue. I checked the command that SC is issuing ( from the log) /Users/mitrihalabi/Library/Caches/Squeezebox/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/PlayWMA/Bin/wmamplayer.sh -really-quiet -vc null -vo null -cache 128 -af volume=0,resample=44100:0:1,channels=2 -ao pcm:nowaveheader:file=/dev/fd/3 mms://64.225.157.204/sawtfm1 I tried to execute it from the shell, and it locks to the station but no volume comes out ( which is exactly what I get in SC). I removed the -af and -ao options, and things started working. I am not sure who generated those options, ( the rate shows as 0 wma on SC), but it is not a security issue, it is a simple options issue that are fed incorrectly to the script. If that gives you a clue or you know somebody in the community with a MAC that would be helpful, since those scripts are mainly for Mac users, PC users would not need a PlayWma. -- mitrih mitrih's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7800 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=83086 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl
danco;587385 Wrote: I wonder if there is a solution in Ubuntu similar to what I use in Mac OS X. I use a little program (I suppose one could write one's own program) that overrides my Mac's power management by simulating mouse movement. And then I use SvrPower Control to run this program while my SB is active and to turn it off when idle. Exactly. There is a project called caffeine for gnome: https://launchpad.net/caffeine Unfortunately, I don't believe that it's scriptable or will otherwise respond to any sort of IPC, which on Ubuntu or Fedora would be dbus. Also, there is the Gnome Power Manager 'Inhibit' applet. But again, it doesn't seem to be scriptable. I'm resorting to writing my own little applet that will call the Gnome Session Manager 'Inhibit' function. But this is turning out the be less trivial than I hoped. The basic problems at this point are: - Session Manager drops any 'Inhibitions' as soon as the requesting app exits. - SBS, since it's running under the 'squeezebox' user account, doesn't have a gnome session. Getting SrvrPowerCtrl to execute an app that can interact with the gnome session manager will be tricky...if not downright kludgy. Anyway, that's my approach thus far. @danco: can you post the latest version of your OSX caffeine scripts? I'd like to incorporate them into the next version of the ReallyPreventStandy plugin. Thanks. -- gharris999 gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
