Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2011-12-27 Thread oivindi

I have the Spotify plug-in running on Squeezebox Server 7.7.1.

Seems to be working fine, except both Artist, Tracks and Album is
empty when I choose the Library menu.

Playlists are working fine, but I prefer album view.

The Library is not empty in the desktop Spotify app, so just wondering
what's going on.

Thanks!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Can SqueezeBox / Other Streaming Software be configured as an Audio Driver?

2011-12-27 Thread charlie.p

I am not trying to do anything really complicated, I would just like the
audio output from my notebook to go to my stereo system. I don't want to
attach any cables to my notebook or buy any new hardware. Since my
notebook already has WiFi it seems like this would be the easiest
(only) solution. So I would like to find a software which can act as a
virtual device driver and compress sound output and send it to another
WiFi device which can decompress and feed it into the input jack of a
stereo system.

I installed Squeezebox on my system and it is pretty resource heavy.
From what I see it is running in Pearl??? And I don't think SB is
really doing what I want to do. I want to be able to output any sound
from my notebook to my stereo. This should not be that hard (or
expensive) to do.

It looks to me that the desktop application is keeping up with my
tracks played back via squeezebox. I've looked at the api and can't
see any additional details necessary to make this happen - could it be
that you have played too many tracks previously via the app and hence
its taking a while for new tracks to reach the top of the list? (don't
know whether you can reset it somewhere?)

Library on the desktop application is not the same as library on the

select them from the context menu of an artist, album or track. [in the
web interface click 'M' for more and then 'add to library']

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Beta version of SvrPowerControl

2011-12-27 Thread ElEsido

Hi

Shutting down the server (the machine) from the
Squeezebox/SrvrPowerCtrl web interface works fine. However doing the
same from the Logitech Android app does not. It simply says
Ladevorgang läuft (charging in progress) but does not run the
shutdown command. When I shut it down from the web interface, the
Logitech Android app says: Shutting down server in 10 seconds.
Modifying the sudoers file as suggestet here
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpost.php?p=631688postcount=1779 did
not help.

My system:
Server
- Goflex Net
- www.squeezeplug.eu
- - Linux version 2.6.38.8-squeezeplug
- - Debian Version 6.0.3
- - Squeezebox Server Version: 7.6.1 - r33110
- Server Power Control v20111028.140356

Player
- Squeezeslave on the same machine (part of Squeezeplug)

Remote
- Squeezebox Controller (for Android, from Logitech) V. 1.1.3

Edit:
Remote Shutdown/Rebooting works when using the (non-free) Android app
Squeeze Commander, which on the other hand does not display any message
when SrvrPowerCtrl performs an action. Posting this in case anyone has
the same problem with the Logitech app.

Ah, ok - so there is no way to sync the contents of the Library in the
desktop version of Spotify to the plug-in?

That's a shame, and a pretty significant weakness.

I've been using Triode's plug-in for some time now. Recently I replaced
my music server with a newer one, so I did a clean install of

It's the same error whether I set the password correctly or
incorrectly, so I'm guessing that the password isn't getting to the
helper app intact (it's spotifyd64, by the way; flac is installed).

I've checked everything I can think of: the server and spotifyd64 are
running as user squeezeboxserver, and that user is able to write to
cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotify and cache/spotifycache. I've
tried running the plugin manually and as root, and I get the same
error.

The official Logitech spotify plug-in is not currently installed, but I
did enable it and verify that it logs in to spotify before removing it
again.

I'm at a loss. Anyone have any suggestions?

Logitech Media Server is implemented using perl, it will use a bit of
resources during initial scanning but after it has scanned your library
it shouldn't slowdown a decent computer at all. If you are running it on
a very old computer with very little memory, the situation will of
course be different.

If you just want a remote sound card to be able to play any sound, like
games, sound effects and other stuff, I don't think Squeezebox is the
right choice for you. I'm pretty sure it can be setup to work but I'm
also pretty sure there are better options if all you want is a remote
sound card.

However, if you are mainly interested in listening to music it might be
worth consider using Logitech Media Server together with one of the
software players I mentioned in my previous post.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SharkPlay plugin - radioSHARK player

2011-12-27 Thread bpa

The plugin can be made to work with original RadioShark but it has a
different protocol and a different supporting app which I cannot test.
IIRC I think I provided details to another user about the necessary
changes somewhere in this thread but I cannot be sure they work.

I find it hard to believe that original RadioShark is still on sale and
not the RadioShark 2. I would think it could be someone being careless
in their description.

There were two models original RadioShark (I'll call it 1) which was
then replaced by the Radioshark 2. Griffin stopped selling the
RadioShark 1 at least 3-4 yrs and recently have stopped selling the
RadioShark 2.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezeslave, 24/96 and SPDIF output options?

2011-12-27 Thread agillis

For everybody playing with hi-rez support I needed to modify LMS to get
it to send hi-rez to VortexBox Player. The default in LMS is to
resample to 48k unless it's connected to a Touch or Transporter. If you
ever get hi-rez support for SqueezeSlave working you will need to do the
same.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SharkPlay plugin - radioSHARK player

2011-12-27 Thread rmjb

Thanks for the reply. This tells me I need to buy a radioSHARK2 as soon
as I find one if they've stopped making them.

It looks to me that the desktop application is keeping up with my tracks
played back via squeezebox. I've looked at the api and can't see any
additional details necessary to make this happen - could it be that you
have played too many tracks previously via the app and hence its taking
a while for new tracks to reach the top of the list? (don't know
whether you can reset it somewhere?)
Possible. It may also be that these top lists in Spotify are only
updated once a week or see. I'll keep an eye on it.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2011-12-27 Thread cakes

The recent spotify preview version now has apps and there's quite a few
that I like
- the radio feature is improved; now you can for instance start a radio
station based on one song
- there is a last fm app, and you can generate playlists based on a
song, recommendations

Any plans to add some of this functionality to the plugin?
