Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: WaveInput for Linux
Can't help unless you answer my questions of my previous post. The problem is invariably die to the audio setup of your system and not LMS or the plugin as they are in use by many users. Are you using Pulse audio ? If so have you added the user id which is running LMS to the appropriate user group to give access to audio ? Have you tested the audio setup and that you can record the audio stream (e.g. check using Audacity) ? Sometimes you need to use the Alsa mixer to get the correct levels. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49584 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: WaveInput for Linux
It's not clear what Juggler wants to do ? He says LMS favourite with wavin:default (also tried wavin:hw,Loopback,1). Is Juggler trying to play all PC Audio - in which case wavin:default is the URL to use as all audio permission are oK. Is Juggler trying to use shairplay - in which case wavin:hw,Loopback,1 would work as long as Shairplay is running. These are two different setups - each with different prerequisities which must be in place before any audio will be streamed. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49584 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: WaveInput for Linux
My apologies... I didn't understand your question so thought the log would be of use. I'm running LMS on a headless, Ubuntu-based server; it does not have a sound card. I followed the instructions here: http://confoundedtech.blogspot.ca/2012/08/airplay-to-squeezebox-touch-via-linux.html, to try to get Airplay (Shairport) working through LMS. Looking at PulseAudio, I believe it is a Linux sound-utility--if that's the case then I'm using ecasound instead. Hope that provides more detail...? cheers, J. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: WaveInput for Linux
For information, pulseaudio is one of the possible underlying audio system on Ubuntu. The other main one is Alsa. ecasound plays audio through a device name such as hw:1,0 which is an Alsa name but if you are using Pulse audio Alsa is emulated and so there are complications. In your case, you do not seem to know what you system is setup and so I shall assume Pulseaudio. First, answer the basic questions 1. Are you trying to copy all PC audio to squeezebox ? 2. Are just trying to use Airplay through Squeezebox using the Shairplay application ? bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49584 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] Dynamic Playlist - random songs from multiple artists?
I'm trying to build a dynamic playlist where it will just pull from a group of artist I specify. The artists aren't grouped by genre or any other characteristics. I thought I could just click select multiple artists in the Only include tracks for selected artists field in the advanced playlist, but that didn't work. I tried the random songs by artist, but I can't seem to find the separator for multiple artists (if it exists). Does anyone know how I can do this? Hover over your first artist and click play. 3. Hover over another artist and click add to current playlist 4. Repeat #3 Save the playlist when all required artists have been added. kidstypike's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10436 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96456 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Converting an old PC to VortexBox
I am listening to music streaming from my new VortexBox (well if you can call a 2004 repurposed box new)! The hard drive swap was really easy. The motherboard in the old computer has SATA controllers, so all I had to do was plug the new hard drive using a new SATA cable and a molex 4-pin to SATA power cable. Of course this was after vacuuming all the dust from inside the box and swapping the hard drive. At this point Ive only loaded up two albums for testing, but all seems to be working as it should. Ill leave the original files in place and copy them to the VortexBox so Ill have three copies of all the music, one on my Windows 7 computer, one on an external hard drive, and one on the VortexBox. I've got to say its been a pretty cool project. Still finding my way around in the VortexBox, but I'll get there. You don't have SugarCube installed and active, do you ? That could cause other tracks to be inserted. If that's not it, could you post the file which the playlist is saved to ? Should be a *.sql.values.xml or *.sql.xml file stored in the directory configured in the SQL Playlist settings page. erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96456 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
