Yes, if I enter the previously authenticated account username and
password, it looks like it logs in (i go to the next screen) but all of
the menus in spotify are blank.
If I try and enter the other username and password, it just stays on the
same screen and doesn't connect to that account at all.

Really odd, as I said it was working perfectly, so i'm happy to remove
all trace of spotty and reinstall if that might help?

Thanks

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Erlands commercial plugins available for free

2017-11-11 Thread Michael Herger

I, too, was unable to get Custom Browse (or some other, but not all,
Erland plugins) to load with version 7.9.1.x. I experienced the exact
same behavior as posted in this thread and I emailed Erland about it a
week ago.

Found the culprit:
https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/commit/40212cd66a74cdf541a766843d34cbd9351e7b01

I'll review that change. It seems to be some interaction between LMS and
Erland's specific server configuration. I had that change running in my
own systems for months before I merged it. Never encountered any issue...

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.9.0 - now with experimental Spotify Connect support!

2017-11-11 Thread Michael Herger

In my /tmp folder I now had several (30+) .tmp files with file size
from 8-17 MB each.

You didn't check there age by chance? Part of the latest update was
deleting such files to not flood /tmp. But it would only delete files of
a certain age. If you skipped a lot, there might be more.

I'll need to tweak that cache file handling. I'm surprised I didn't
notice any of this file creating earlier...

When I monitor my /tmp folder I notice that when I start playing a new
track I see 2 new .tmp files with identical size.
After a few seconds the first disappear and after a few more seconds the
second file disappears.

I think that's expected behaviour. But sometimes, eg. if you skip to
another track, the file would not be deleted.

Did you pair it successfully with 10.2 in the past? There is one nasty
trick on the pairing is that the IP address of the ATV must be set in
the config file for the pairing process to work, and that config update
happens only every 30s. You might want to change the config file name,
click apply then erase it (this way you've saved your current one if you
need to go back to it). Then wait till the ATV4 is detected (refresh of
settings is needed) and then, only then, try pairing.

I hope Apple has not changed their encryption again, or I'll throw the
towel - it's too painful

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2017-11-11 Thread BoomX2

College Basketball season started yesterday. The weather.com version of
the SDT plugin has been updated to calculate the start of season for
this year and hopefully all future seasons.

There is also a tweak to improve the display of completed College
Football games if they went into overtime.

I have also fixed the stock quote feature. Please note that stock
quotes are now limited to one ticker symbol or index.

Change list:

Code:

  # 5.9.40 11/11/17 Corrected display of final CFB games that went into
overtime.
  # Added calculation for start of College Basketball (CBB)
season.
  # Fixed Stock quotes - Currently limited to one stock or
index.

You can download and install the update manually here:

Code:

https://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/sdt-weather-com/SuperDateTime5-9-40.zip

Or you can use the repository listed here:

Code:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/sdt-weather-com/files/repo.xml

PS - When updating the text on the settings page for stock symbols, I
used Google Translate for German and Dutch text. If there is an error
in the translated text, please let me know.

Don't know if this has been brought up in this lengthy thread, but.I
have numerous playlists made up of both Spotify and my own tracks. As
we all know, albums and tracks can sometimes disappear without notice
from Spotify. I find that when I'm playing a playlist that arrives at a
track that is unavailable from Spotify, rather than just skip over that
unavailable track, the playlist stops and I have to manually use the ">>
next track" button to forward it to the next playable track. Is this
something that can be fixed so that it just skips the unavailable track
and proceeds to the next one without manual intervention, or is it
something peculiar to my set up (using Squeezelite as player on
Vortexbox/Linux hardware.

Thanks!

I, too, was unable to get Custom Browse (or some other, but not all,
Erland plugins) to load with version 7.9.1.x. I experienced the exact
same behavior as posted in this thread and I emailed Erland about it a
week ago. I also use Max2Play as the admin UI for my Raspberry Pi 2,
which is designed, in case it's unknown, as a media platform that
includes both LMS and SqueezeLite to create a contained media player
running on the Raspberry Pi hardware. I personally have a Radio in my
bedroom and a Classic in my livingroom connected via TOSLink cable to my
AV receiver (I still *NEED* LOL my Maggies for my classical, jazz, and
opera) as well as a HiFiBerry TOSlink capable RPi2 add-on board (which
works quite well).

I confirm Nojelc's reported behavior that down-grading Logitech Media
Server Version: 7.9.1 - 1510044676 @ Tue Nov 7 15:33:55 UTC 2017 to
Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1488878280 @ Wed Mar 8 14:18:44
UTC 2017 allows Custom Browse installation. So, something Michael
changed in the SqueezeServer builds from last March has broken the
ability to install Custom Browse. As I cannot live (Yes, cannot live :-)
without Custom Browse and its "Genre Album" I will remain on v7.9.0
build 1488878280.

I'm hoping that Erland and Michael have an opportunity to review what it
may be that has compromised the install of Custom Browse. Or, perhaps I
dare say, that the functionality of Custom Browse (or at the very least,
from my perspective, the Genre Albums part) becomes a part of the
standard SqueezeServer architecture. Frankly, I've never understood why
the regular Genre Library view defaults to listing by Artist/Performer
rather than Album. For folks with substantial classical libraries that
really makes no sense as it often splits albums over multiple listings.
And the Album view lists all albums in alphabetical order, and when one
has nearly 3000 albums in some 30 genres, that, well, is useless as a
method to find something. Custom Browse and its Genre Albums is
*perfect*.

And let me add my thanks to Erland for his LMS plugins. As other folks
have said in this thread, I quickly opted to pay for the lifetime
license in recognition of Erland's contribution the LMS community with
his plugins. I'd do the same for Michael were it possible (sad that so
many people do not understand that Michael is the SOLE developer of
SqueezeServer -- take a look at the commit history and you can confirm
this is true).

I am finding the Pi3 being much easier for managing/installing LMS
updates, it takes only a fraction of the time to scan my library
compered to the ReadyNas, it plays FLAC 24/196 files effortlessly which
the Nas couldn't do, LMS restarts are only a few seconds, etc. etc. and
you can still use the ReadyNas as a media library by pointing LMS on the
Pi to the library on the Nas. I have moved on from the Nas altogether
recently and am using a hard drive plugged directly into the Pi - the
hard drive turns on & off with the Pi, and spins down when not playing
music, and it comes alive when required without issue. My ultimate will
be to plug high capacity USB sticks into up to 4 of the inbuilt USP
ports of the Pi and keep my library on those, just waiting for the
prices to drop a bit.

Cheers, David

In my /tmp folder I now had several (30+) .tmp files with file size
from 8-17 MB each.
( These temp files seems to have roughly the same file size as a song,
could that be the transcoded songs?)

When I deleted these files I could successfully start playing again
without restarting my NAS or LMS.

When I monitor my /tmp folder I notice that when I start playing a new
track I see 2 new .tmp files with identical size.
After a few seconds the first disappear and after a few more seconds the
second file disappears.
The file sizes are the same independent of what transcoding I use
(flac/mp3/pcm) but vary in size depending of what song I play.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: AirPlay Bridge = integrate AirPlay devices with LMS (squeeze2raop)

2017-11-11 Thread BuddyRich

Im having trouble pairing my to my ATV4K running TVOS 11.1.1. Ive seen
reference to ATV4 and tvos 10.2+ but I wonder if anyone has tried on
tvos 11?

I see my two apple tvs (one an ATV3, one an ATV4K running tvos 11.1.1)
and I select pair on the ATV4k in webui and I see my code on my TV (even
turned it on via HDMI-CEC, which was cool), but when I put in the code
in the webui nothing. Eventually I get a timeout error on the settings
page.

>From the log, it looks like the roap app is crashing but nothing else in
the logs to indicate an error.

Im running LMS and the squeeze2roap on my Win10 server... Windows
firewall is disabled.

Did apple change their encryption yet again, maybe for airplay 2?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty v1.9.0 - now with experimental Spotify Connect support!

2017-11-11 Thread jasell

I'm not sure what you did in 1.9.6 but this version works much better
for me!
-Less delay when start playing the first song
-Skipping a track is immediate (1 sec delay)

I have spotty-custom and pv-custom, both copied from original files in
the same directory (Spotty-x86_64 and PV-x86_64)
Folder:
/opt/ssods4/var/home/SqueezeboxServer/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/Bin/i386-linux/

I had some *.tmp files, I manually cleared those and now I don't get
any new.

What is the "best" transcode option to use when on a low powered NAS?
-Flac, PCM or MP3?
All 3 works for me.

Many thanks for your efforts, much appreciated!!

It's strange that the server has now suddenly detected the Chromecast
and is working again. The only thing that I did was install a 2nd
instance of LMS on a Linux box. Neither the Linux box nor the Windows
server are detecting my DLNA renderers though.
???

Hmmm ... I missed this one. If both do not work, it definitively points
to a networking issue. They use different discovery mechanism but all
require that your network is not NATed or that various discovery packets
are forwarded.

Yes WinSCP was what I had in mind when I wrote"something similar",
picked that up when reading post#708(that is also everything I know
about WinSCP).

Care to fill me in on some of the "number of reasons" to why you decided
to turn away from running things solely on the ReadyNAS...
I find that Life is so much easier if you learn from other peoples
mistakes and experiences, that way I can focus on making new mistakes in
other areas :D
