Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-04-01 Thread IvRak

Replay Gain seems to work.

For me, though, it wasn't enabled by default, even though I have
replaygain set to dynamic.

Minor thing though, I got it enabled and it works fine.

Thank you for your efforts, and a really fast reaction to my first query
about it :)

I'm of to enjoy some music

I have another question for you. If I want, for some reason, downgrade

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-04-01 Thread godIsInTheRadio

Hi Michael,

and first of all a huge thank you for this great plugin - should be that
with the biggest add-value according to my kids...
Is it possible to sync the spotty plugin display state with the chosen
player in web-ui?
To better explain: if a different player is chosen in the web-ui,
usually all that is done in the left side-panel further on applies to
that player. Not so with the spotty plugin. If I change player, it still
displays the account related to the player initially chosen. If I switch
account, this applies to the player initially chosen.

Thanks for having a look at this.

Marcus

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Band's Campout 1.7

2018-04-01 Thread markm9999

Follow up to finding album:

>From the JSON 'title' value "Simple Symmetry - Best Ice Cream In
Guwahati", using LMS, I searched for "Simple Symmetry" and it returned
only 1 album with this URL
https://glenviewrecords.bandcamp.com/album/gvr1230-simple-symmetry-apes-in-the-orange-groove-w-secret-circuit-remix

So I searched for "Best Ice Cream In Guwahati" and it returned nothing!
What the...

So I open BC in my browser and in their search box typed "Best Ice Cream
In Guwahati", and got 4 results.

Bingo!

24839

https://xxxthelabel.bandcamp.com/track/simple-symmetry-best-ice-cream-in-guwahati
https://xxxthelabel.bandcamp.com/album/xxx002-simple-symmetry

Whew!

So the question is, why didn't the search in LMS return any of this
info? What/how is it actually searching BC?

I've noticed this also before but sorta blew it off a few weeks ago.

*-I should also note-*, there is an issue with the 'Bandcamp URL' option
also.
Pasting in the
'https://xxxthelabel.bandcamp.com/album/xxx002-simple-symmetry' value
returns a blank LMS screen
I'm not sure if I ever actually saw this option work...

As of right now, the URL you provided played fine for me in Firefox, so
I searched LMS for this artist/album and was able to play the track.
That took a little more effort...

The link provided opened a JSON view in Firefox with this URL in the
'streaming_url' value, but I'm wondering about this:

Code:

Because -*when I finally found the album*- and played it in LMS, I get
this for the track:

[SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-04-01 Thread mherger

As people keep asking about a changelog, I'm going to start a new thread
for every worthy release. Until I forget about that routine, again :-).

What's new in Spotty v2.3.0?

- added support for replay gain
- allow to pick the helper you'd like to use
- new helper version v0.11.0

Replay Gain (Volume Normalization) is optional, defaults to enabled, if
you've chosen any of the normalization options in LMS. But you can
enable/disable it independently. Check Settings/Player/Spotty.

The option to pick the helper binary to use is only available if there's
more than one binary available for your platform. This should help in
situations we've seen where a binary would pass the quick test, but then
fail in use. In this case (and ONLY in this case!) you can try to use
one of the other available helper applications. Do not mess with that
setting, unless you know what you're doing. And if you experience sudden
failure, double-check the setting, whether you accidentally chose the
wrong helper.

Enjoy the music!

All this is new for me and I did not find the same case in the forum.

Jump as in Audio change.
I'm rocking on, getting close to the end of the track and suddenly next
track starts.
Quite an abrupt audio experience, that's why asking...

Memory is not much on these boxes (especially with some years down the
road, what used to be much isn't anymore).
I have 1GB RAM on the one I'm using now, I monitor it relatively often
and I'm at a rather solid 58% usage (400MB free).
I have another qnap box with 2 GB, I have similar experience their but
don't use it so much for the moment.

See attached Server.log
During this session I have a few stops and repeats.
The track name on my SB3 is stuck, remaining time is not showing but
playtime is correct.

I would prefer a separate normalization setting in spotty as well and
not have it tied to LMS replaygain.

It should be a separate setting in Spotty IMHO.

Yeah but I like to be able to control which versions I use. It is just
so long ago I have worked with LMS (it just works) that I totally forgot
about it. Sorry for wasting your time. I have upgraded to version 2.2.2
and it works very good. Like the way it is possible to switch between
different accounts. The only thing I can't get to work is to be able to
control a player from my spotify app on my phone. Is there anything else
I should do besides check it on the menu?
I can see on the server I have 2 spotty.exe running so that is working.

Yes. Im using the smart (Dynamic) setting.
But if any of the three settings are active so should volume
normalization i Spotty.
Only if set to of, should it be of in Spotty.

I'm really looking forward to this, thank you for the effort with
implementing it :)

AFAIR the LMS replay gain settings are more granular than a simple on /
off switch, but any enabled state should enable it in Spotty also IMHO.

Yes, there's track gain, album gain, and smart. Alas, Spotify only

It says version 1.2.1 in LMS under the active plugin-list and also in
the install.xml file in the spotty catalog on the server.

Could it be because I have installed it manually?

I would prefer it to follow the general settings for LMS.
But in the old plugin it was a setting inside the plugins pref. And that
was fine also.

Perhaps have it follow LMS, and show the aplied setting inside Spotty
pref?

So it would say something like:

Based on LMS replay gain setting, volume normalization is enabled
(/disabled).

AFAIR the LMS replay gain settings are more granular than a simple on /
off switch, but any enabled state should enable it in Spotty also IMHO.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.0.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox

2018-04-01 Thread Michael Herger

-Jump to next track before really finishing the current track, this
might be Spotify or the recording but I don't think so.

"jump" as in audio changes, or the metadata displayed? The latter is a
known issue: the display always is about 10s ahead of the sound.

-Stops playing, random stops in the middle of a track or while
switching. Starts again after pressing play in the Spotify app (iPhone
or windows app)
-After a few stops, like above, the song starts to repeat until I press
forward in the Spotify app.
-After a few stops, like above, the playing track in the Music info
screen of my old SB3 show the same track name, even though there are new
tracks playing.

Could you please check server.log to see whether the spotty helper had
crashed? You might need to enable INFO logging for plugin.spotty.

I'm on your 2.2 release (current) on my Qnap running the linux-i386.

How much memory?

Let me know if there is something I can to to help your investigation.
I just put the logging into INFO mode, is that the best level to get
clues?

Yes, INFO should be perfect. DEBUG is too verbose in most cases (logging
all web API traffic, incl. data returned by Spotify's servers).

From that file I do see that Spotty is part of the repository file, and

2018-04-01 Thread jasell

Hi Michael,

I have been using Spotty in Connect mode more frequent lately.
I must say I experience Spotty to be a bit moodier than before.

What I found moody:
-Jump to next track before really finishing the current track, this
might be Spotify or the recording but I don't think so.
-Stops playing, random stops in the middle of a track or while
switching. Starts again after pressing play in the Spotify app (iPhone
