Which log, lms?
As said, with squeeze cntrl is do have cover art showing while ipeng
only shows the logo of the radio stream. No idea if it is unscaled, how
to see?
Will also try with another radio stream and let you know.

That was updated recently actually now that it's a multilingual app
(currently British English and erm German German). It's aimed mainly at
developer I guess but I'll try and clean that up, plus add some
automation around this before the next release.

But if you're downloading v1.1 (as I'd recommend) - it predates this
change and you should refer to -that- 'v1.1 README'
(https://github.com/declension/squeeze-alexa/blob/v1.1/README.md)) (also
included in the zip).

Python doesn't need (ahead-of-time) compilation so no. Either way the
packaging and deployment to AWS is the harder bit, but all this is in
the documentation - I've built scripts (or you can use third-party
tooling, also detailed) to help build and deploy as necessary.

Sorry, yes, I meant 'squeezealexa/settings.py'

Great. That should work fine then.

BTW best way to get detailed support is either via the 'squeeze-alexa
chatroom' (https://gitter.im/squeeze-alexa/Lobby) or filing a Github
issue - it's too hard on forums ;)

Hi Michael,

I found the settings and tried to change the binary settings a couple of
times and then put the settings to default (automatic chosen) and then
restarted the LMS and this tricked the LMS to be able to play music from
Spotify again :D - The automatic settings chosen now are the "muslhf"
version - which was the settings before I played around with the binary
settings - no logic here, but it worked.

Thank you for your support - much appreciated.

"Enable install of third-party apps" is turned on.

Mine is the same version as yours 0.9.6.4 slideme.org.

I've been playing about with this for ages, and may have sorted it, I
dragged the notification down with the vague hope that it may swipe away
this time :p but must have tapped or double tapped it and I got a
dialogue box up that warned me that the app may be harmful, but there
were 2 options, *Uninstall* or *keep anyway* or something like that (I
wish I'd taken a screenshot). I pressed "keep anyway" and the
notification has gone :D

I'll see if it returns, will keep you informed.

Cheers

Although I didn't know it until now, my Android 7.0 phone also has
Google Play Protect installed. It does not give me a message about SC
as yours does. Do you have "enable install of third-party apps" turned

Is it possible your copy of SC is corrupted/infected? If you'd like, I
can send you my APK. It is version 0.9.6.4. I just noticed it is
licensed via "slideme.org" and not Google Play. That may somehow make a

Thank you, I´ll try to find time to test it. I already got Stream
configured in NGINX so it would be nice include this into it as well.
I´m not running NGINX Plus however.

Stunnel is recommended, or at least documented and tested in detailed.

Good news though - on searching just now it looks like 'nginx R6
supports SSL termination for TCP protocols'
, in theory at least :) The docs make it -look- quite easy (more modern
than stunnel too), and it supports speed-increasing things like SSL
session caching and SSL session tickets (should be fast enough already
though).

You'd need a separate (secret) cert but I've listed the steps on
creating this. If you have issues, try the Github issues, or if you get
it working and fancy documenting...

I can't get rid of that notification without uninstalling SC.

I went to Play Store > Play Protect, and disabled "Scan device for
security threats", rebooted a couple of times and reinstalled SC, but
within a few minutes the notification is back. Rinse, repeat.

Not sure how this will affect those who wish to get a new phone.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: squeeze-alexa - DIY secure Alexa integration

2018-04-09 Thread Freddy

Great to see an own thread about this, I totally missed that before.

I have a question.
I´m currently running NGINX for connecting secure to Home-Assistant
(HTTP) and connecting to my MQTT broker (stream)
Alexa integration works fine with HA using HAASKA + let´s encrypt cert

I´m a bit confused about this:
"Nginx doesn't seem to support non-HTTP traffic over TLS."

So I need to install stunnel anyhow or should it be possible to use
NGINX?

Thanks for reporting. The issue had nothing to do with VoiceOver, BTW,
happened without it as well.

Is there a difference between the two apps in that? This should work.
Is there anything in the logs? iPeng requests unscaled artwork unlike
e.g. the web interface, no idea what SqueezeCtrl does.
