TBH, these modes really make this application what I wanted it to be since the beginning, it just took me a few more years to get there :). Hence I was bit too impatient to have feedback. But I understand that, because it took me so long, people that wanted to use have a working configuration now and don't want to change and new LMS users are becoming a rare ressource nowadays, unfortunately. Anyway, these re-encoding capability really improves compatibility and brings replay gain and fade in/out while adding 'flow' does proper gapless (which UPnP don't do, really) and cross-fade (okay, I agree this one is likely a very marginal use case). I've just changed the settings UI to make it a bit easier to try these. Maybe one request to you: would you mind trying the 24 bits PCM mode (w/o re-encoding and w/)? That one I can't test and this has always been something that I miss-coded. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 2.3.0 - Spotify Connect for your Squeezebox
I did some testing with 2.4.2 and while I found that the issue of having the player's volume setting suddenly changing to match that of the client device (in my case, the player is a SB Classic and the device is an iPhone 6S with latest iOS), there is still an issue where if I start to adjust the volume on the device (which is usually at about 60% and was so at the start of this test), then it not only starts to adjust the volume from 60% but also resets the player to 60%). Is this expected? I was expecting once the device starts to "connect" to the SB Classic (which is at 100% volume) that the device would be set to this same 100% value. Thoughts? Volume control is more complicated than you'd think: the problem is we have two system which keep volume settings independently. SB knows its volume, Spotify thinks it does, too. Now which one is to be used? You can change on both sides. There's always a moment where one side overrides the other in order to sync up. -- Michael ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Volume setting behaviour is possibly set to sync volumein advanced settings of the LMS You can set it that every player can be separately adjusted or set to a fixed output (in case you are using a Pi via Av receiver) if you want to use its own Remote vor volume setting. This is how i had set it up for my 2 SB Radios and the Pi on the AV Rec. I am only struggling with the handover from one device to another. Sometimes it works, sometimes it will fail.
