Bizarre.

After a long lasting power cut, I restarted everything again from zero.

Tried the latest update and bingo! the Airspeaker is working again.

Thanks for the advice.

It will if you click the "Start the Bridge" checkbox (1st line of

activate it and let it run

How would that work? Moving the content pane is not a swipe gesture,
it's a pan gesture to, well, move the pane. It works in both directions,
how would you replace that with an edge swipe? And even if you could,
that would feel totally weird if you move an element by doing a gesture
at some other place on the screen.

OK thank you.
I didn't try this.
But for me I suppose it would be more convenient to swipe from the edge
to move the content pane left/right and from inside each page to go

Please have a look at "Help->Quick Tutorials->Albums and Playlists" in
iPeng.

Looks like you have chosen "Add to End" mode instead of "Play" mode.
Switch to "play" mode and you albums will just replace the current
playlist.

That does work on iPhone/iPod touch.
It doesn't work on iPad because there it conflicts with the gesture to
move the content pane left/right so I can't add it without completely
changing the layout. You could still swipe from the screen edge to get

I enabled "Additional Debugging" in the setup menu.

Oddly, it showed up in the terminal window I used to restart lms rather

I did "Erase" and "Generate" the config file, figuring that the one we

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LMS-to-uPnP on FreeBSD 11.1 - squeeze2upnp-amd64 - won't work

2019-09-01 Thread wcattey

I figured out why modified versions of Squeeze2upnp were being ignored:
After you edit the file you have to restart the lms server.
The lms server does not detect the change.
There is no way to restart the lms server from the web interface (unless
you get the moribund SrvrPowerCtrl plugin).
So now I'm restarting the server with:

/usr/local/etc/rc.d/lms restart

After doing that, I get modified code live.

The value of $os->{'os'} is "Unix".

This makes sense because of code I read in Utils::OSDetect.pl which sets
the "os" string to "Unix" if nothing gets set from existing tests.
(This supports my early theory that, owing to no explicit test for
freebsd, that we fall through to some default.)

The hard-coded binary is found, but the functionality isn't quite
there.
Here are the info-level log lines now:

OK .. as I understand it stop button creates much more problems than the
convenience of having it so no problem.

About the gesture I don't mean from the edge of the screen. I mean from
inside the actual page. An album for example or folder with albums.
With a swipe from left to right in the album/folder page to go back. And
don't have to always hit the back arrow in the up left for doing it.

I don't use playlists at all, they look like a needless complication to
me. I wish they didn't exist. I play internet radio stations as if
playing FM radio, or I play albums as if playing a CD. Playlists don't
do anything useful, I don't understand the point of them.

"Stop" doesn't clear the current playlist, it just resets the currently
playing track to the beginning of the track and clears all buffers.

"Power" has three functions: 1. On Squeezeboxes with an integrated amp,
it actually turns off the amp. 2. It switches the SB to the "Power off"
screen saver. 3. If a player is part of a sync group it stops playing
with the other players without dropping from the sync group.

Why do you need to clear the playlist? If you "play" something (as
opposed to adding to the current playlist), it is automatically cleared.
If you usually build playlists and so want to add to a playlist instead
of playing new stuff and therefore use one of iPeng's "add" modes, you
could "hold" a track whenever you want to start a new playlist and
select "play" from the context menu which clears the playlist and plays
that track.

You can go there
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lms-plugins-philippe44/files/ and chose
whatever version you want and then unzip it in the cache directoyr, over
the existing one, but I do think it's something else. The change in
0.4.21.1 is really one line which has noting to do with the normal
plugin work

So do the following: in the squeeze2upnp.pm, in the binaries proc, just
"return qw( squeeze2upnp-bsd-x64 squeeze2upnp-bsd-x64-static);" at the
very end of the function, no test, nothing

As far as I know "Stop" doesn't clear the playlist either, but when a
new item is played the current playlist is replaced anyway. There
shouldn't be any need to manually clear it.

I do know perl, but I'm having trouble getting any kind of change to
what is displayed.

I'm editing
/var/db/lms/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/UPnPBridge/Squeeze2upnp.pm

Editing line 90 to change the warn string to print the OS value. But
even changing the text is having no effect.

I think the update is present because I do see at lines 51 and 52:

if ($os->{'os'} eq 'freebsd') {
return qw( squeeze2upnp-bsd-x64
squeeze2upnp-bsd-x64-static);

There's something very basic about how plugins work that I'm missing.

So the name is not "freebsd", if you know Perl, you can change that part

Maybe even better to use composer album artist album (year)
as I think many, including myself, have used the artist tag to fill in
the composer? So the same info in artist and composer tag. I think it is
mentioned on the squeezebox wiki page for how to tag classical music...

I've never understood power off in the LMS architecture, it doesn't seem
to actually turn anything off. The problem with Pause is it doesn't
remove anything from the current playlist. I too would like an actual
Stop icon that stops what is playing and empties the playlist. The
problem at present is there is always some junk in the playlist that I
need to get rid of to play something new!

Right now there isn't. It has very little use and clutters up the
screen. One of the biggest problems with the Squeezebox system is that
it has way too many specialized functionality for remote use cases only
very few people need.
Between "pause" and "power off" (which stops the stream like "stop")
there are really few cases left where you need that additional button.

Actually... if it was me I'd rather remove "power" (and maybe add a
gesture for "stop" instead, like a long-press or something) but it's so
deeply implanted in the architecture that it's needed too often - but it
makes things like synchronization scenes so much more complicated
that the whole sync handling is complicated by it...

I'll see what I do in the upcoming big redesign but right now I'm
against a "Stop"-button.

You mean the edge-swipe that doubles as a back-gesture on iOS? That
works, even on iPad where I had to implement it manually and even on the
NowPlaying screen on iPhone where it conflicts a bit with the sub-pages
but it still works fine if you really swipe from the edge of the screen.

I am new to this forum and I didn’t read all of this huge thread.
I use iPeng in my iPad and I think it’s a great app. Truly great!

I hand a question and a suggestion if this is possible.

Is there a setting to show “Stop” button? I think not. Yes? I know this
has been discussed in the past but I would like to know if its possible
to be added in the future!

Suggestion: I would like to see, and it would be very convenient if I
could swipe between pages and not having to hit the back arrow for
navigating.

I hope I am not asking too much!! Keep up the good work.

Thank you!!

nervoteso wrote:
> never solved. could you tell me how to update on radsperry?

Go there to find the latest nightly build
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/index.php?ver=7.9

As of this post, this is
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/7.9/sc/25f77d7bd57a9ea70a4cf4a6b5be974849fd2a05/logitechmediaserver_7.9.2~1565967976_arm.deb
for amr/debian (raspian) which I assume you use

Open a terminal console on your pi and type

"wget
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/7.9/sc/25f77d7bd57a9ea70a4cf4a6b5be974849fd2a05/logitechmediaserver_7.9.2~1565967976_arm.deb";

This will download the latest version and you'll have a file named
logitechmediaserver_7.9.2~1565967976_arm.deb

Then type "sudo dpkg -i logitechmediaserver_7.9.2~1565967976_arm.deb"
and that will replace your current LMS version

For YT plugin,

Go to /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/plugin by typing "cd
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/prefs/plugin" then erase YT pref file by
typing "sudo rm youtube.prefs"

Go to the YT plugin settngs in LMS and re-enter your API key. DO NOT ADD
LEADING OR TRAINING SPACES. If it still does not work, then you've done
something wrong in the API key creation, so re-read the help and try
again

Well, interestingly enough, although I'm now building the bsd version,
I've never included it properly in the distribution, it's such a rare
use case. So if you can send me and extract of the server.log file
around laucnh of LMS, I'll have the exact OS detail that I need to
return the list of binaries compatible with your system and then you'll
see a dropdown list with a choice to make

think deletion of a playlist is OK. I have other issues which I have

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LMS-to-uPnP on FreeBSD 11.1 - squeeze2upnp-amd64 - won't work

2019-09-01 Thread wcattey

I'm trying to get the Ocean Digital WR230S working as a uPnP device with
LMS.
It looks like philippe_44s squeeze3upnp has been around for a long
while. There are hundreds of posts on that announcement.
This thread seems to be the one relevant to amd64-freebsd.

My LMS is Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1425041484 @ Sun Mar 1
04:18:16 UTC 2015
Platform: amd64-freebsd
Perl Version: 5.18.4 - amd64-freebsd-thread-multi

The 3rd party Plugins found: UPnP/DLNA bridge (v1.20.0)
As per other Forum info, I turned off Andy Grundman's UPnP/DLNA Media
Interface, enabled philippe_44's plugin, and restarted.
I had to restart multiple times before the plug-in showed as enabled.

When I go to the settings page, it does not show as much as what 11max's
screen shots show.

28073

So I figure that I've not got all the pieces.

I looked through the "Squeeze2upnp - UPnP/DLNA bridge - User Guide" but
couldn't quite connect the dots.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance!

As one of those "benders", that's a good suggestion.

On the "Playing" screen:

ALBUM (YEAR)

On the "Queue" screen:

TRACK

Thank you both.

Did you update something in your system? Updating LMS to 7.9.2 would be
good anyway as we have added full support for opus which is now the main
codec used by YT

Composer first would be nice, indeed.

As some (tag-bending :p ) folks around here use ALBUM to refer to a
composition, they might even like "Composer: Album Artist". (I
don't do that.)

Replying to myself I've update the code to place composer 1st, as
having artist and album next to each other made more sense. However, if
there is a strong opinion against this, I can easily revert.

It doesn't seem like you're doing anything wrong. Radio Paradise was
having problems most of yesterday.

Mellow Mix Regular Stream FLAC is working fine for me at the moment.

Hi there - how does this work?

Yesterday I installed the plugin in LMS. I cannot find any app on the
player, but loading LMS I find Radio Paradise listed alongside with
TIDAL.

When I play (Mellow Mix Regular Stream FLAC) no sound is occuring. I go
to the player and it's loading a stream ("Getting Stream Info..."). I
push play on the player and it complains a file is missing. I push play
in LMS and it flicks for a second, it shows a cover and the Panini Pua
Kea title etc, but then reverts to showing the RP logo. No music.

Please let me know what I'm doing wrong.

Best regards,
Claus

Any updates on this? I see you have not added the requested info to the
github issue. Any errors logged in LMS?

For certain genres, if a track has a composer material shows this in the
sub-title line as "Artist Composer Album." I've received a
request to change this to "Composer Artist Album." As I
don't play much classical music, hence never really showing the
composer, I have no real preference. Would showing the composer 1st be
better?

Can't see this myself on Linux. However, I suspect its due to the
recycler library. This library is how Material can display lists with
1000s of items reasonably quickly - as it only shows (and adds to the
HTML DOM) the items that are visible on screen. This is only used for
non top-level lists that can toggle list/grid or have more than 200
items.

However, seeing as the issue is with non-default zoom, not sure what I
could do about it.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Settings Manager no longer works

2019-09-01 Thread kidhazy

For what it's worth (and for others looking to transfer settings to
another server) I had some success.

I used SettingsManager to copy the settings to a custom group. Grabbed
them out of SettingsManager.prefs and massaged them a bit in a text
editor so they looked like:

Code:

array(
  'plugin.datetime::dateFormat' => '%a |%d %b %Y',
  'plugin.datetime::dateformat' => '%a, %b |%d, %Y',
  'plugin.datetime::timeformat' => '',
  'plugin.datetime::timeFormat' => '|%I:%M',
  'plugin.dontstopthemusic::provider' => 'PLUGIN_SPOTTY_RECOMMENDATIONS',
  'plugin.musicinfo::plugin_musicinfo_alarm' => 0,
  'plugin.musicinfo::plugin_musicinfo_alt_volume' => '',
  'plugin.musicinfo::plugin_musicinfo_center_dbl_A_size' => '',
  'plugin.musicinfo::plugin_musicinfo_center_dbl_A' => 'NOTHING',
  ...
  ...
  'plugin.musicinfo::plugin_musicinfo_center_dbl_OFF_size' => 'full.2')

I then pasted that text info an online JSON encoder at
http://json_encode.onlinephpfunctions.com/

If the text was correct it would create a result like:

Code:

{"plugin.datetime::dateFormat":"%a |%d %b
%Y","plugin.datetime::dateformat":"%a, %b |%d,
%Y","plugin.datetime::timeformat":"","plugin.datetime::timeFormat":"|%I:%M","plugin.dontstopthemusic::provider":"PLUGIN_SPOTTY_RECOMMENDATIONS","plugin.musicinfo::plugin_musicinfo_alarm":0,"plugin.musicinfo::plugin_musicinfo_alt_volume":"","plugin.musicinfo::plugin_musicinfo_center_dbl_A_size":"","plugin.musicinfo::plugin_musicinfo_center_dbl_A":"NOTHING","plugin.musicinfo::plugin_musicinfo_center_dbl_OFF_size":"full.2"}

I could then paste that into the Import Settings field on Settings
Manager on the NEW server and import the settings to the player.

There were certain setting strings that wouldn't encode correctly, so
I've manually copied those as were appropriate. eg:

Code:

'plugin.spotty::enableSpotifyConnect' => undef,

  'server::apps' => {'sounds' => {'title' =>
'PLUGIN_SOUNDS_MODULE_NAME','home_menu' => 1,'plugin' =>
'Slim::Plugin::Sounds::Plugin','type' => 'opml','icon' =>
'/static/images/icons/icon_nature_sounds.png','url' =>
'/api/sounds/v1/opml'},'deezer' => {'icon' =>
'/static/images/icons/deezer.png','url' => '/api/deezer/v1/opml','title' =>
'PLUGIN_DEEZER_MODULE_NAME','home_menu' => 1,'plugin' =>
'Slim::Plugin::Deezer::Plugin','type' => 'opml'},'nonsn_spotty' => {'plugin' =>
'Plugins::Spotty::Plugin'},'radiotime' => {'url' =>
'http://opml.radiotime.com/Index.aspx?username=kidhazy&partnerId=16','icon' =>
'/static/images/icons/tuneinradio.png','type' => 'opml','home_menu' =>
0,'title' => 'PLUGIN_RADIOTIME_MODULE_NAME'},'nonsn_lastmix' => {'plugin' =>
'Plugins::LastMix::Plugin'}},

  'server::alarms' => {},
