[SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
I'm happy to announce Spotty v4.0.0. This release adds support for the new online library integration of Logitech Media Server 8.0 (pre-release only!). This integration will list your favourite albums and artists from Spotify (and other supported streaming services) together with your local library. Quick search, random albums etc. will all give you access to your Spotify favourites, too. Please note that 'LMS 8' (http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=8.0) still is under development. If you feel adventurous, then go install it from the usual source of nightly builds. But please be prepared to update often - and to see the random issue here and there. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
I just submitted 2.6.6 to the Store. Changes: - Updated Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF) to 80.1.4.0 (Chrome: 80.0.3987.149) - Updated squeezelite-win.exe to 1.9.6-1210 - Attempted fix for Access Violation when restarting. Previously, when SLX is shutting down, it will terminate the squeezelite-win instances it has started. Now SLX will not terminate squeezelite instances if it is shutting down due to a Windows WMEndSession event. The squeezelite instances will terminate themselves in response to an EndSession event. While I could not reproduce this problem, my theory is that SLX trying to terminate squeezelite, while squeezelite is terminating itself, could be the issue if the timing is right. Just a theory, so we'll see. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.6 (and higher) & BBCiPlayerExtra 2.0 (and higher) Support
Unlikely given LMS has no IPv6 support at all. LMS only looks up A records, and it does the lookup itself so the OS doesn't get chance to decided to look for as well. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.6 (and higher) & BBCiPlayerExtra 2.0 (and higher) Support
I've been testing LMS 8.0 on Windows 10 system. Not my normal setup. I found that playing any BBCiPlayer Live or Listen again program took about 10 secs to start compared to a Pi system sitting beside the Win10 PC. Both on Wifi and playing to same SBR in same room. Win10 took about 10 sec to start playing with plugin logging "long fetch" messages whereas Pi on 7.9.2. started immediately . I reinstalled 7.9.2. on Win10 and same issue so it was nto a 8.0 issue. I then turned off IPv6 on Win10 interface and BBCiPlayer streams started immediately. I noticed the same issue on some HLS station so it was not a BBC issue. My guess is that IPv6 DNS lookup was tried, timed out and then fell back to IPv4 DNS lookup. When IPv6 was disabled - no delay for IPV6 stuff. Is this a reasonable assumption ? Strange as Pi seems to have IPv6 enabled on its wifi . bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109826 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] 'MediaServer' *certified* Alexa skill for LMS
Hi, I've been reading this thread with interest it sounds a very interesting. Can I ask a couple of basic (non-techy) questions about this to people who have installed it and lived with if for a while? I want to try and gauge how tricky it is to set-up and what the overall user experience is like before I start to have a go. FYI, my set-up is a Giga-Byte Brix running Win10 and LMS which is permanently on and runs with minimal intervention/maintenance required. Multiple players (radios, and SB Touch). Here goes... - how easy is this to install/setup? I'm pretty computer savvy, but really don't want to spend too much time tweaking/updating etc... - once set up, is it essentially a set up once and leave, or does it need constant attention? - how well does it work once set up, ie. what's the overall user experience like? - finally, I might eventually have two LMS servers, located at two different physical locations, would I need two MediaServer subscriptions to operate an Alexa at each location, or would one subscription do both? Apologies if this isn't the correct place to ask, if not please move to a more appropriate place. Thanks in advance for your advice. staresy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=807 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111016 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I have the same issue as the op. Not a big deal as I can just hit the next button and off it goes again. I can go days without it happening but then yesterday I was listening to the Discover Weekly playlist and I had to restart it three times. It's a brilliant system so I'm not complaining at all. SLX will start its player, squeezelite-win. squeezelite-win may abort for various reasons, usually incorrect or invalid parameters, or something odd in the area of audio devices. SLX detects when squeezelite-win aborts. Also at startup / restart - you can long delays all of which can result in "uneven" results. I think is because, it has been setup to download repo directly and not through SF web interface. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)
Love the plugin and it's working almost perfect for my needs. One thing that bugged me recently, though, is that sometimes the songs only start playing at around 30 seconds from the start. So when a track changes, there's ~30 s gap of silence, and then the song starts playing from ~30 s of the song. My guess is that this starts happening after a certain amount of cumulative hours of music playing time (over some days or weeks of random playing time per day), because earlier this would happen once in a few weeks, but now with the covid 19 staying at home thing, this happens once every few days, because music is played much longer every day now. I thought that changing the gapless mode to forced helped for awhile, but it didn't. Also, I noticed that restarting the UPnPBridge helps. So if there's nothing else we could do, maybe it is possible to set it up to restart itself at a scheduled time, or at intervals of one day, for example? I'm using LMS on a QNAP device and the DLNA device is Yamaha WXAD-10. But sometimes I get playback stops. Very often it is when one song is finished, and it just does not start the next song in the playlist/album. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty - playback stops
Hi I have used spotty for 1+ year now. In general working very well. But sometimes I get playback stops. Very often it is when one song is finished, and it just does not start the next song in the playlist/album. If I pres "next" the next song will play just fine. It is not particular songs that has the issue, seem to happen on random. Very rarely it is in the middle of a song, more often it is when a song is approaching the end. I have sometimes seen it show in iPeng as f.x: "4.01 played of 3.30" - meaning that is is as if it cant register the end of the song. Other times it just stops. Have anyone seen this issue? It happens on multiple players and on different songs (both SB Radio, SB Touch and SB3/Classic Players). It is quite annoying, as I really love my setup, and is moving more and more to spotify as an alternative to local music. I have no network issues, wireless is rock stable and the internet connection is stable as well (been working from home for a few weeks now, so this I know for a fact)., BR Kasper macsat's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=46905 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111916 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

It had to be Chrome. FF was working. My Chrome menus as well as my entire OSes were all english. I checked again for that hidden german reference. Looking up Chrome/Advanced Settings/Languages. There you define if certain pages shall be shown in its original language or are to be translated. I had three languages configured: german, english, english-us - in that exact order I now figured that the order of languages as listed in that menu matters. MS-Qobuz gets the first entry in the list as reference as it seems. When putting english at top of the list the MS - Qobuz language turned to english. What Material does is: 1. call ["pref", "language", "?"] to get LMS's language setting 2. *If* lang==en, then I also check the browser's language, and set lang to this if the browser's lang starts with 'en' 3. *If* lang==en Or lang==en-us then stop here - as Material's strings are in American english by default. 4.
