[SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)

2020-04-02 Thread mherger

I'm happy to announce Spotty v4.0.0. This release adds support for the
new online library integration of Logitech Media Server 8.0 (pre-release
only!). This integration will list your favourite albums and artists
from Spotify (and other supported streaming services) together with your
local library. Quick search, random albums etc. will all give you access
to your Spotify favourites, too.

Please note that 'LMS 8'
(http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=8.0) still is under
development. If you feel adventurous, then go install it from the usual
source of nightly builds. But please be prepared to update often - and
to see the random issue here and there.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X

2020-04-02 Thread rgdawson

I just submitted 2.6.6 to the Store.

Changes:

- Updated Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF) to 80.1.4.0 (Chrome:
  80.0.3987.149)
- Updated squeezelite-win.exe to 1.9.6-1210
- Attempted fix for Access Violation when restarting. Previously,
when SLX is shutting down, it will terminate the squeezelite-win
instances it has started. Now SLX will not terminate squeezelite
instances if it is shutting down due to a Windows WMEndSession event.
The squeezelite instances will terminate themselves in response to an
EndSession event. While I could not reproduce this problem, my theory
is that SLX trying to terminate squeezelite, while squeezelite is
terminating itself, could be the issue if the timing is right. Just a
  theory, so we'll see.

Unlikely given LMS has no IPv6 support at all. LMS only looks up A
records, and it does the lookup itself so the OS doesn't get chance to
decided to look for as well.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer V1.6 (and higher) & BBCiPlayerExtra 2.0 (and higher) Support

2020-04-02 Thread bpa

I've been testing LMS 8.0 on Windows 10 system. Not my normal setup. I
found that playing any BBCiPlayer Live or Listen again program took
about 10 secs to start compared to a Pi system sitting beside the Win10
PC. Both on Wifi and playing to same SBR in same room.

Win10 took about 10 sec to start playing with plugin logging "long
fetch" messages whereas Pi on 7.9.2. started immediately . I
reinstalled 7.9.2. on Win10 and same issue so it was nto a 8.0 issue.

I then turned off IPv6 on Win10 interface and BBCiPlayer streams started
immediately. I noticed the same issue on some HLS station so it was not
a BBC issue.

My guess is that IPv6 DNS lookup was tried, timed out and then fell back
to IPv4 DNS lookup. When IPv6 was disabled - no delay for IPV6 stuff.

Is this a reasonable assumption ? Strange as Pi seems to have IPv6
enabled on its wifi .

I replaced a "playall" with "play" on the parent id - but guess this
does not work. I'll need to rethink this playall/addall. I need to check
if the parent can actually be played, and if not then do a play/add of
each item.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] 'MediaServer' *certified* Alexa skill for LMS

2020-04-02 Thread staresy

Hi,
I've been reading this thread with interest it sounds a very
interesting. Can I ask a couple of basic (non-techy) questions about
this to people who have installed it and lived with if for a while? I
want to try and gauge how tricky it is to set-up and what the overall
user experience is like before I start to have a go.

FYI, my set-up is a Giga-Byte Brix running Win10 and LMS which is
permanently on and runs with minimal intervention/maintenance required.
Multiple players (radios, and SB Touch).

Here goes...

- how easy is this to install/setup? I'm pretty computer savvy, but
really don't want to spend too much time tweaking/updating etc...
- once set up, is it essentially a set up once and leave, or does it
need constant attention?
- how well does it work once set up, ie. what's the overall user
experience like?
- finally, I might eventually have two LMS servers, located at two
different physical locations, would I need two MediaServer subscriptions
to operate an Alexa at each location, or would one subscription do
both?

Apologies if this isn't the correct place to ask, if not please move to
a more appropriate place.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Yes I say that, but I thought that this is not the fault of Material
Skin.

Here is the JSONRPC RESP

An album list of an artist with only two albums.

Code:

[19:13:31] JSON REQ:
["2c:fd:a1:bb:03:db",["qobuz","items",0,25000,"menu:qobuz","item_id:2.0.19.0"]]

Now I pressed the play button in the header.

Code:

[19:16:30] JSON REQ:
["2c:fd:a1:bb:03:db",["qobuz","playlist","playall","menu:qobuz","isContextMenu:1","item_id:2.0.19.0"]]

  utils.js?r=1.5.3:17 [19:16:30] JSON PLAYER (2c:fd:a1:bb:03:db):

 volume":63,"playlist repeat":0,"playlist shuffle":0,"playlist
mode":"off","seq_no":0,"playlist_tracks":0,"digital_volume_control":1}

Nothing happend. Actually he should have transferred all tracks of both
albums into the playlist.
In my personal Qobuz plugin version I supress the both buttons with
*type => 'list'*.

What happens, if the play button is pressed?
Which command is called?
Or is it a hidden virtual album including all tracks of all albums?
I don't know.

I always listen through the LMS interface never via Connect.

Rating isn't mandatory when using trackstat. I never use that part, I
have used the statistics part in the past though. It's not installed on
either of my servers, and it hasn't been officially modified to allow
automatic install so at the moment I can't verify this behaviour on my

I use trackstat because I let SugarCube automix music and enabled the
setting 'tracks not recently played' in SugarCube. This needs trackstat
to get the data.
But I don't care about the rating, I do not rate the songs that are in
my local LMS folder, so the rating that is shown on the now playing

[SlimDevices: Plugins] LazySearch2 Error: Plugin is not compatible with this version of Logitech MediaServer

After a long and satisfied use the LazySearch plugin unfortunately does
not work anymore.

The problem occurred immediately after upgrading Logitech Media Server
version 7.9 to 8.0 (v8.0.0, 1584980764)

Error message in log file (German language version):
Slim::Utils::PluginManager::load (236) Couldn't load LazySearch2. Error:

I am very thankful for every solution suggestion.

SLX will start its player, squeezelite-win. squeezelite-win may abort
for various reasons, usually incorrect or invalid parameters, or
something odd in the area of audio devices. SLX detects when
squeezelite-win aborts. Now, since two of you got the error at the same
time, apparently out of the blue, without messing with parameters, I am
going to guess this is audio device related. Are you using other than
default for the output device?

First, its -Craig-, second - hover buttons should not be there on iPad.
Just tested on an iPad mini with IOS 12.4.6 Don't have access to
anything newer. My guess is that material is not detecting your OS as
mobile. For this it uses the user-agent string. According to
https://forums.developer.apple.com/thread/119186 iPadOS uses the *same*
user-agent string as macOS!

I differs gretly when it happens.

Sometimes it works for days with not issue, other times (like this
morning) it happened 2-3 times within an hour or two.

interestingly it was my 4 year old son listening here as well - and

Memory and CPU cycles is no issue here, the server it is running on is

Hi Greg, could you please have a look at the behaviour on an ipad

need to tap twice before going to the next menu item. The first tap
selects the item and shows the hover buttons.

Yes. The sourceforge repo URL often time out and anytime you look at
Plugin tab - there can be delays and/or timeouts with failure to get
repo. Also at startup / restart - you can long delays all of which can
result in "uneven" results. I think is because, it has been setup to
download repo directly and not through SF web interface.

The plugin ZIP are kept on sourceforge and can also timeout - which
means mysterious failure to install or update a plugin.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)

2020-04-02 Thread mnd

Love the plugin and it's working almost perfect for my needs.

One thing that bugged me recently, though, is that sometimes the songs
only start playing at around 30 seconds from the start. So when a track
changes, there's ~30 s gap of silence, and then the song starts playing
from ~30 s of the song.

My guess is that this starts happening after a certain amount of
cumulative hours of music playing time (over some days or weeks of
random playing time per day), because earlier this would happen once in
a few weeks, but now with the covid 19 staying at home thing, this
happens once every few days, because music is played much longer every
day now.

I thought that changing the gapless mode to forced helped for awhile,
but it didn't.

Also, I noticed that restarting the UPnPBridge helps. So if there's
nothing else we could do, maybe it is possible to set it up to restart
itself at a scheduled time, or at intervals of one day, for example?

I'm using LMS on a QNAP device and the DLNA device is Yamaha WXAD-10.
Attached are 2 logs with the described behaviour in the last few tracks
played and my settings for the bridge

No, you're right.
But unlike the Qobutz plugin, the buttons there have a function and are
not useless.

Maybe I see it too much from the perspective of the plugins, so I didn't
notice your example.
You could also ask why the Qobuz plugin does not support the buttons at
this point.

But would it have any disadvantages to distinguish these two cases in
the grid status?
I don't think so, but maybe I am missing something.

If it should not have any disadvantages, it would only depend on the
effort.
If it is easy to implement (few lines of code), why not?
Otherwise I would not do it.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty - playback stops

2020-04-02 Thread macsat

Hi

I have used spotty for 1+ year now. In general working very well.

But sometimes I get playback stops. Very often it is when one song is
finished, and it just does not start the next song in the
playlist/album.

If I pres "next" the next song will play just fine.

It is not particular songs that has the issue, seem to happen on
random.

Very rarely it is in the middle of a song, more often it is when a song
is approaching the end. I have sometimes seen it show in iPeng as f.x:
"4.01 played of 3.30" - meaning that is is as if it cant register the
end of the song. Other times it just stops.

Have anyone seen this issue?

It happens on multiple players and on different songs (both SB Radio, SB
Touch and SB3/Classic Players).

It is quite annoying, as I really love my setup, and is moving more and
more to spotify as an alternative to local music.

I have no network issues, wireless is rock stable and the internet
connection is stable as well (been working from home for a few weeks
now, so this I know for a fact).,

OK. That'll do.

However.

I found the issue on my side. It had to be Chrome. FF was working.

My Chrome menus as well as my entire OSes were all english.

I checked again for that hidden german reference.

Looking up Chrome/Advanced Settings/Languages.
There you define if certain pages shall be shown in its original
language
or are to be translated.

I had three languages configured: german, english, english-us - in that
exact order

I now figured that the order of languages as listed in that menu
matters.
MS-Qobuz gets the first entry in the list as reference as it seems.

When putting english at top of the list the MS - Qobuz language turned
to english.

What a ride. ;)

Hmmm... I'm confused as to why this would *only* affect Qobuz? What
Material does is:

1. call ["pref", "language", "?"] to get LMS's language setting
2. *If* lang==en, then I also check the browser's language, and set lang
to this if the browser's lang starts with 'en'
3. *If* lang==en Or lang==en-us then stop here - as Material's strings
are in American english by default.
4. Otherwise, I get attempt to load Material's translation file for the
current lang
5. If this translation can be loaded, it is used and 'Accept-Language'
is set to that.

I -think- the erro is that I should set 'Accept-Language' to LMS's
setting regardless of the steps above. I've updated the code for this.
Can someone (with Qobuz?) confirm the fix?

Music" would be in LMS' language, as is Material itself.

So here's what I believe is happening:

- Material is using LMS' language setting
- requests sent to LMS once a player is connected are using the
browser's language

Good point.

I just tried Orange Squeeze.
All Qobuz Menus are english. That's the same phone where MS is running.

I think I mentioned that ONLY the Qobuz plugin/app talks german.
To be seen as soon as I dive down into the Qobuz submenu.

But does this happen in all interfaces? On the player? In the default
web UI?

Have you tried other controllers? iPeng, SqueezeCtrl, Squeezer, or
default web UI? Do they show Qobuz in German?

*Material debug:* 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json
2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open console tab in developer tools
4. REQ/RESP messages sent to/from LMS will be logged here.

Hmmh. The forums notification doesn't work properly.

I think I mentioned that ONLY the Qobuz plugin/app talks german.
To be seen as soon as I dive down into the Qobuz submenu.
The rest of MS remains english.

E.g. Qobuz submenu structure shows "Suchen" "Stilrichungen" "Klassik"
asf.
