My player is a RPi4 with a HiFi-Berry DAC+ Pro preamp running HiFiBerryOS. Its running full out into analog AVR (RCA) input, so after thinking it through, yes, I can do that, but the fact that those two choices exist, says they probably should be both considered as equally valid, and handled as such. My manual also outlines running a pre-out into an external amp as Zone2 setup, so that's yet another way to consider. It gets complicated fast. An easy way out would be not to do anything volume related on power on, as this seems to be user settable (see the attachment) SamY wrote: > Please send a debug log after you make the change. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Music & Artist Information plugin
What's the difference for your plugin regarding Material/ LMS and Squeezer (Jive (Controller) is also working)?... I can only assume it's the way how it's calling MAI. If you enable INFO logging for control.command you should see what exact commands the clients are sending. Still odd that it would only skip one step, though. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I had to look at a Denon manual to see what you are referring to here but it explains some of the strange behavior we are seeing, specifically the fact that the response to the Z2ON command, where I expect to see the current Zone 2 volume setting coming back, is always showing Z277 (or -3dB) in your system, whereas I am seeing the expected value in David's. My original plan was to sync the client volume to that value, as I now do in the main zone, but I had to take a different approach because I didn't want you to blow out your speakers. ;-) So it appears to me that you have set a fixed value of 77 (-3dB) for the Zone 2 "Volume Level" (not "Volume Limits") instead of "Variable" (the default). This would also explain why the Zone 2 volume control on your remote doesn't function. The only reason I can think of to do this would be if you were using an external preamp with its own gain control, which I don't think you are doing. Can you go into your menu and change that option to "Variable"? I have a feeling that doing this will also get rid of the volume change timeouts, as the AVR is likely not expecting to see Zone 2 volume change requests when the "Volume Level" option is not "Variable". Please send a debug log after you make the change. If the results are what I expect, I will go back to my original plan of syncing the client volume to the Zone 2 volume setting returned from the Z2ON command, as is now done for the main zone. Thanks. It's all looking good here, Sam; the on/off commands work reliably now, and so are the volume changes. This has nothing(?) to do with the plugin, but it's an interesting bit about the AVR. Its remote has two separate power and volume buttons for the main and zone2 zones. The zone2 power button does work, but the dedicated volume +- buttons have no effect at all; the AVR displays "-3dB" (the hard limit that's been set), and all the volume changes are under software (your plugin) control. I'm guessing this is the end result of choosing volume range, as opposed to "Variable" for the "Volume Limits" in Zone2. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Community Firmware for Squeezebox Radio/Touch/Controller and LMS 8
Hi Ralphy, hi Michael, there seems to be a very small, firmware-related bug in LMS 8.x. In the past, a Squeezebox Radio needed a firmware patch (thank you, Michael) to work with LMS 8.x. If that patch has been integrated in the community firmware (it is my impression that this has happened), the notice in LMS 8.x on the information page, that a patch has to be installed on a connected Squeezebox Radio, is not needed anymore in every case. The notice should only appear if the connected Squeezebox Radio has neither the patch installed nor the community firmware installled. Hello, here is the first very early release. Since this is my first project written in perl and with the LMS i had some trouble at first. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Denon AVP Control Plugin
David and MarSOnEarth: Here is a new version of the beta code for you to try. If the client reports its volume as 0 during power on, it will set it to 25%. This is a temporary fix and there is actually a chance that it will work as originally planned due to a change in how the client volume is retrieved. I also made a change that I hope might reduce the timeouts on volume changes by closing the socket after sending the request. Try it out at your convenience and upload the debug log as usual. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Easy ngrok-setup for MediaServer & LMS-lite Alexa skills
The requirement to manually run the updater script AFTER linking the skills has now been relaxed, as your uuid is already in the setup script when you download it. This means that setup is now a *single-pass* process and no restart of e.g. pCP is required (thanks @chill !). On Windows 10, the desktop shortcut is no longer created or necessary. All this magic will only work in modern browsers with -localStorage- enabled and functioning. If you're still on Netscape Navigator, a popup will remind you it's 2021  philchillbill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68920 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113966 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
It seems like between switching to 160kbps and removing the group players plugin, things have gone back to normal. One small issue but I can live with it, is that the players synced with spotty playlist playing tend to drop for about 4-6 seconds every few songs, then start back up. The controller doesn't say "buffering" in that time so I don't know exactly what's happening. Not a huge problem but if you have any ideas I'm open to testing them. 1 Touch 4 Receivers 3 Controllers 3 Radios (I think I have a problem) FredFredrickson's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16584 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
sorry, this is very insignificant, and forgive me for not trying to hard to find it in this thread. I am curious, did the icon to the right of the player, which indicates "click to see more players" disappear in a recent version? I ask because I looked, didn't see it, and thought "why doesn't lms see my other players?". I then realized I need to click the current player to expose the list. Maybe it's because of limited room on the apk/mobile? Here's what I saw: 33858 Here's what I expected to see (example - standard UI): 33859 I don't mind if this either never existed, or had to be eliminated, but sometimes these "invisible" functions trip me up...like today for a moment :o. I wonder if this might be a confusion for occasional users. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Community Firmware for Squeezebox Radio/Touch/Controller and LMS 8
Dear Ralphy and Michael, thanks a lot for this effort! I updated now 5 Radios and one touch with the latest community firmware (8.0.1-r16844) and update the LMS to v8.1.1 - 1610364019. I encountered some issues I wanted to share, and I cannot tell if this is LMS or firmware. Probably this is a user error as well... 1. Wifi connectivity I updated, hoping that the radios wont drop Wifi that often. In my case there was no change, it even felt worse. The Wifi network icon becomes "blue" and no connectivity is given. BUT I can go to the menu section and select under debug "repair network connection" and it works again - at least no reboot is required as prior. -> Is there a way to detect missing Wifi connectivity and then initiate the repair network actions automatically? I have one radio, which is about 3m distance to the router and reports 100% signal strength. This is now constantly dropping from Wifi. Previously (before the update), it was stable in terms of dropping out once or twice per year, now it is on daily basis or more often... I dont think it is connected to the firmware update - at least I cannot believe this. -> I couldnt find a suitable solution by now. Any hint is welcome. 2. Responsiveness When changing songs in e.g. a playlist (I have a playlist, which is being played back, and I am simply selecting another song out of that list to be played back), it takes multiple seconds (I would say >4-5s) to make that change happen. Under LMS 7.9 this was nearly instant - or at least felt like this :-) 3. Random playback doesnt work anymore When using LMS, I can use repeat all, repeat 1 song and no repeat. But random playback cannot be selected. The icon doesnt change. I used the LMS web interface, but also iPeng. I assume that this is more LMS @mherger - any comment/idea? Bug-fix release, changes: - Less generic pagehandler regexes. - Translation updates. - Fix certain shortcuts with macOS. - Expand now-laying in desktop layout with single click on cover image in bottom toolbar. Not for iOS though, as this shows menu on single click. - For mobile devices, hide bottom bar when keyboard is shown. - When changing volume in group player's dialog freshes all players. - Reset close timer on group player dialog when adjust a volume. - Refresh all synced players' volumes when adjust player volume in 'Manage players' dialog. - When toggle power, check status 1/2 second later as well. *Material debug:* 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json (Use http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json,cometd to also see update messages, e.g. play queue) 2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open console tab in developer tools 4. It is already automated - as the docs state: 'An entry in /opt/bootlocal.sh ensures ngrok_startup.sh runs at system boot to continually refresh your tunnel details when you reboot.' This was done so you don't have to 'waste' a user-command on ngrok. The reason for the single manual run after initial setup is so that the user can see the tunnel URL mentioned when that script runs so as to use it during account-linking. By the time you run it manually, it has already run anyway but you missed its output which is normally irrelevant but needed when linking. Rather than telling you to run once manually, the docs could instead tell you to visit the :4040 web-page after rebooting the pi as the URL is mentioned there too. Thanks to @chill, the script will soon do everything in a single pass without reboot, but it's not yet ready to go live as I also need to change some stuff in the cloud to handle an incoming URL potentially before the skill was linked. It will all get even easier very soon  philchillbill's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=68920 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111016 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Yeah the refactoring if terrifying because I feel you dont know what is is exactly trying to do. There is that insane function which is maybe 1000 or 2000 lines long... Its too bad because it would certainly be an opportunity for a fair bit of improvements LMS 8.1.x on Odroid-C4 - *SqueezeAMP!*, 5xRadio, 5xBoom, 2xDuet, 1xTouch, 1xSB3. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)
I've started to discuss with @pippin to see if that behavior can be changed in a way that would work for iPeng as well. I've found a solution for Classic UI and Material but not for iPeng. That part of LMS code (XMLBrowser) is really very difficult, complicated and IMHO not very well written so it's super hard (at least for me) to navigate through it and make reasonable modifications. Haha... I remember that for many years I tried to avoid touching that code if ever possible... then I was wondering whether I could refactor it to make it more maintainable. I had to give up both ideas. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
