there seems to be a very small, firmware-related bug in LMS 8.x. In the past, a Squeezebox Radio needed a firmware patch (thank you, Michael) to work with LMS 8.x. If that patch has been integrated in the community firmware (it is my impression that this has happened), the notice in LMS 8.x on the information page, that a patch has to be installed on a connected Squeezebox Radio, is not needed anymore in every case. The notice should only appear if the connected Squeezebox Radio has neither the patch installed nor the community firmware installled.
