I am unused to Shortcuts. A more detailed look revealed that the WOL app
has an action to send the packet, which is all I need. On first lookI
only found the option to open the app.

Thanks to all for the advice.

I have now created an iPhone shortcut that does the following:

Opens a WOL app.
Waits a while,
Opens Material skin.

During the waiting period I can manually get the WOL app to send the
wake command.

I would really like to do without the manual action. I wonder if any app
would allow a shortcut that opens the wake-on-LAN app and automatically
sends the wake command. I'll ask this in some of the Mac forums, as it
is very specific to iPhone.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Still Trying to Port LMS Playlist Real-Time to Winamp. Any Ideas?

2021-08-08 Thread typecrazy789

I've posted about this a couple of times, and months later still haven't
found a solution.

I am trying to get an online radio station going (via Live365) and want
to use Spicefly Sugarcube in combination with the old SqrSoft
crossfading plug-in of 20+ years ago.

I was able to use the UPnP/DLNA bridge to get the Foobar2k version of
the plug-in going in combination, but it just doesn't work as well as
the old one - not only are there less controls, but it won't crossfade
anything less than :12, which is a real deal-breaker as it affects
pacing. (I have a bunch of jingles and such.)

I'd posted here a while back asking if anybody was interested and
qualified to write a DLNA Renderer plug-in for Winamp, with no
responses. The old Winamp forum, which I logged into the other day for
the first time in 18 years, apparently is no longer accepting new posts
so I wasn't able to ask there.

I've wondered if it's possible to have something written that could load
the old output plug-in via Squeezelite/Local Player, so that it is just
directly connected to that without having to use the bridge, bypassing
Winamp completely. In theory this is the cleanest solution, but I have
no idea if it's possible. I reached out to Triode privately asking, but
if anybody here thinks they could pull this off, let me know. The
plug-in itself is just a DLL file with an accompanying INI file.

The only other solution I can think of is using Powershell to monitor
LMS' M3U file and pass information as it is added to Winamp using the
command prompt, but so far nobody's attempts have actually worked
although on paper they should...but as I have a custom LMS plug-in that
inserts the jingles and commercials in between the next-to-last and last
tracks, it can't just do this in real time as both (A) it needs to watch
for the last track, wait about 10 seconds for more tracks to be added,
then (B) insert the entire string. This isn't ideal and is a dicey
solution but might be the only way.

Any ideas are appreciated...and no, the stream function won't work as
the whole idea is to use the crossfader, so the tracks have to go
individually, and in advance enough that the fader can capture them soon
enough.

I won't keep posting here about this if there's no solution, but I can't
help think given there are a few ways it -might- work that somebody
might have an epiphany...I will pay you if you can figure this out and
it works!

I have that plugin installed and had the same thought last night.
Unfortunately, when the pCP Pi is set as a stand alone player with no

doesn't even show the 'What Was That Tune?' option under the 'My Apps'

Guess this again is down to there being no date time parameter available
in the Pi when it doesn't have network access?

The generic (same as hifiberry Dac) uses the pcm5102a codec driver.

Whether this is necessary depends upon the player being controlled
doesn’t it? If it’s a native SB player and the server is set to Wake on

If you have a medium to large library, the limited memory might become
an issue. Enabling swap, will help.

A pi3B+ with 1Mb ram, or a pi4 with 2mb will make the LMS interface much
more responsive.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Last.fm scrobbling from LMS with no Internet

2021-08-08 Thread Paul Webster

These devices are, in general, used to set the date/time in the
operating system.
So, once it is working, it would be used by LMS etc without having to do
anything else.

The challenge is that pCP uses piCore which is a specialised operating
system and does not have everything in it that some applications/
developers expect.
The instructions at https://docs.macetech.com/doku.php/chronopi show
that the one you found uses i2c … so one thing to watch for is something
else (like an audio board) trying to do the same thing.
If this is a server only (not a player) then that issue would not arise.

If no-one here says that they already have it working then maybe the
supplier can do a quick test themselves or agree a no cost return if it
does nor work with pCP.

Not as far as I know. For Material on Android I have created a simple
app that wraps a webview and adds some basic extras. Therefore, for
Android, I could add an option to wake the server when starting - but
have not, as my server is on 24x7. However, I have no access to a mac so
could not create an iOS app, as Apple require a mac for this. Also, iOS
has no alternative app stores (Material app is on the f-droid OSS app
store) - so yet another reason I could not do this.

*Material debug:* 1. Launch via http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json
(Use http: //SERVER:9000/material/?debug=json,cometd to also see update
messages, e.g. play queue) 2. Open browser's developer tools 3. Open
console tab in developer tools 4. REQ/RESP messages sent to/from LMS
will be logged here.

Thanks Paul. That RTC wouldn't fit in my Flirc case, but this one
possibly might (although could be a bit tight):
https://thepihut.com/products/macetech-chronopi-1-0-real-time-clock.

I wouldn't know where to start configuring pCP/Last.fm plugin to use the
RTC as the timesource - any advice?

Thanks

Andy

You know that you can create a WebApp on the Homescreen for Material
Skin ("Send to" and then "To home screen". (I only translated the German
texts, I don't know the correct english texts))?

pi4 4gb picoreplayer with lms and squeezelite for usb inside an argon
one case
pi3b+ (7\" display, hifiberry dac+ pro) picoreplayer with
squeezlite/jivelite for hifiberry and bluetooth headphone inside a

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

2021-08-08 Thread danco

I've just installed Material Skin on my iPhone. Looks nice. I'm
wondering if there is a clever way to do one thing I want.

My LMS runs on my Mac Mini (using Big Sur). If the Mac is asleep then
using the power button on the remote wakes up the server and connects.
If I am using the iPhone, I suppose I can use an app like Fing to wake
up the Mac, and then switch to Material Skin on Safari to control LMS.
But is there any way to avoid having to use first one app (Fing) and
then another (Safari)?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)

2021-08-08 Thread TomJones

Hello,

I have the following problem with the UPNP bridge:
Within the first few seconds of playing a track, I always hear a slight
crack.

The client is KEF LS50 Wireless II and I mostly stream from Qobuz.

Anyone who had a similar problem and found a solution?

Tom

Looking at things another way.
Install What Was That Tune which will give you a record of what you play
even when offline.
Manually scobble the data when online -

I don’t think the RPi will get the date/time from the Android phone
without some sort of helper.

However, adding a battery backed up RTC to the RPi is relatively cheap
and very easy (unless it is competing for GPIO pins).

Might need some work to have it running on pCP.
