[SlimDevices: Plugins] TIDAL rebuffering failed

2022-02-24 Thread pmendiuk

Tidal has been working great for a few years but recently Tidal has been
occasionally stopping mid track with the Jivelite player briefly showing
some popup window. Last night I was able to get over to the RPI display
before it disappeared and saw a "rebuffering failed" window. I have
seen other popup windows but they disappear before I can read them. Is
there any logging in LMS that would provide more information about this?
I have a solid 1Gb internet connection and all of my PcP are connected
via ethernet except for the Jivelite PcP.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

2022-02-24 Thread cereyanlimusiki

Hi all,

Hope you are healty and fine.

I recently discovered lms and benefits

My LMS runs on Synology in a docker container

I installed necessary plugins and I am happy in generally.

Here is my issue.

I have soundcloud plugin
I can play soundcloud tracks with standart LMS gui but when I try to do
this with material skin, track loads but not play.

This is same for all combinations eg different PC, different browser ,
different mobile device.

where shall I start to troubleshoot?

Thanks for the update - sounds great. Sorry, but I've not yet had time
to revisit my attempts to get the Bliss analysis working within WSL, and
I'm still running with Essentia/Musly... but from the sounds of your
post, I need not worry too much about prioritising that.

Looking forward to giving the latest version a run when it's available!

Thank you !

I installed it and will tell you if I see unstability.

Would there be any chance you look at my favorite radio for which the
title just disappear after the radio starts playing ?

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin

2022-02-24 Thread Sven_R

I am using Material Skin in combination with MAI. I noticed that on the
Material Skin interface, many artist images are mismapped.
Interestingly, the image mapping is correct in the LMS interface… any
idea what’s wrong and what I can do against it? Is there a cache I
should delete in order to re-trigger the mapping?

Yeah, as stated before I'm writing a new analyser and mixer for Bliss in
Rust. The code is done, I just need to test some more. I also, thanks to
some ideas I borrowed from Spotty, have it compiling for Linux, macOS,
and Windows. I'm creating a new LMS plugin that starts the mixer when
required - so no systemd service required. Should make the whole process
easier to install and run. I've written a python script to convert the
bliss analysis in music-similarity DB to the format used by this new
plugin, so no need to re-analyse.

It's a pity nobody else has tried the setup for comparison.

Nothing to do with the actual CD.

This is all to do with metadata encoding/decoding.
Since the letter encoding in the URL is the same - even the actual CD
doesn't matter.
Since there was a change between 8.2 and 8.3 for me - there is some LMS
factor in this - I suspect some tiny part of the CDplayer plugin is out
of date (created in 2008) due to a change in LMS and or Perl as LMS on
Windows uses 5.14 (2011) whereas most Linux are all something like 5.30

It can depend on your installation (e.g. service) - squeezetray may give
you an update option.

For my installation.

Download latest 8.3.0
Stop LMS.
Stop squeezetray
run download as adminstrator - don't start anything after install.
Run squeezetray as administrator and use it to start LMS.

I eventually got a version of cdda2wav to work -
https://sourceforge.net/projects/cdrtoolswin/

Don't know why all the previous versions just broke. Windows is horrible
about keeping lots of old DLLs and then caching them.

Anyhow.

I see your problem with LMS 8.2.0 and when I install 8.3.0 - I see the
correct display.

Please upgrade to 8.3.0 or at least 8.2.1

I feel your pain! I'm not a great fan of windows either.

I could try to update to 8.3. I assume it's just running the install
file over the existing 8.2.

That may help - Queue and Now playing metadata come from one routine.
Strange thing is that exact same code is used to derive "title" string
etc. from the cdplay:// URL - why is the display different in two
places ?

Since it only affects your Windows and AFAICT not mine - need to do more
tests.

What version of LMS and Windows do you have ?
