Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] SuperDateTime Screensaver v5.11.0 - Date/Time/Weather/Sports/Stocks
Hi Don. Turns out it was the identifier. I have no idea how. It was working before the LMS load. I even keep images of my set up screens to be sure. Anyway, what I was using doesn't work any longer so I just found a nearby town and all is well. Thanks for checking in. Not sure what happened. It was working fine until yesterday and I keep actual images of the set up screens so I know what I had used to work. I swapped it out for another though and it worked. Loaded SDT and now I can't change the Weather.com Identifier. It defaulted after the LMS load. I change it, hit apply and it looks good, but when I refresh the page I see it goes back to the default. I tired uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling to no avail. Anyone else with the issue? Make sure whatever connection type you use to install Jivelite is the same one you use to connect. In other words, if you install Jivelite using ethernet, you have to run your piCorePlayer using ethernet. If you haven't just uninstall and reinstall using whatever method you're going to run your player with. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Material Skin
Ya know, I'm not sure where the 'Now Playing' screen saver resides. The VU meters are in Jivelite, but I'm not sure that's where the screen savers are controlled from. I know that the SB remote as for the SB3, etc. have a button that changes the screen screen view on most of the Squeeze boxes inclusive of the Transporter. It's the same function if you are using a touch screen and you touch the middle of the screen. Anyway, I'll take a peak at the link you supplied, although I am a complete luddite, maybe I can figure something out. Thanks, Howard cpd73 wrote: > You mean add a button to control Jivelite? I use Material Skin on my phone almost exclusively to control my SB's and love it. Thanks. I was beginning to think this was a lost cause. I'm not following what you mean when you say modify the screen accordingly. Is there somewhere you tell the software the size of the screen. I thought in Custom Clock Helper when you put in the "Model" field "Jivelite800x480" you were essentially telling the program what size screen you had. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Motor boating sound when Squeezelite loads in picoplayer
I've been trying to beat back a noise issue while trying to build a portable player with 7" screen. My issue seemed to be caused by trying to use a dual output PSU. Today I tried separate PSU's. One for the RSP3, screen, hard drive, etc. and one for an 18w stereo amplifier. It works fine except for a very faint motor boating sound coming from the speakers. I noticed that the noise starts when Squeezelite loads. I'm using picoreplayer 3.20 with SL. Oddly enough, to me, I don't hear any noise when using headphones hooked to the RCA outputs of the DAC+. Only when I run the output to a amplifier. Any ideas or is it just a coincidence that the noise starts when Jivelite loads? Thanks, Howard Can I go home now? After installing I went to the Custom Clock Helper app and selected "CS Basic digital Clock - weather (SDT) info and short day date Radio, Touch, Jivelite800X480" and clicked apply. I assume at this point it just works?? I don't see any settings on the player. Howard tcutting wrote: > It's an applet. Hmmm, O.K., did that. I don't see Custom Clock anywhere on my player. I assumed it would be in the Screen Saver. I didn't see it there or anywhere else. It definitely loaded. Yup, I did get it working, but not with the customer repositories. Not sure why. Looked at log and saw everything but SDT. I ended up copying the plug-in to the two folders that the log said they were pointed to and that worked. Should I have an plugin called "Custom Clock" or just "Custom Clock Helper"? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Other devices can not see SDT if pointed towards the RPI3 server. The RPI3 can see and use SDT if pointed towards my main music server, though. Maybe I should back up for a sec. SDT was not listed as an plug-in in the LMS plug-ins server page after I loaded piccorePlayer on the RPI3. The only way I got SDT to show there is to copy the SDT software using WINscp directly in to one of the directories. Once loaded I could set up SDT using the Advanced screen in LMS, but it never appeared in the plug-ins list in settings. A new twist is even after backing up the picroePlayer, all of this disappears if I restart the player. What might help is if I could find out how you load SDT in the beginning if it doesn't even show up in the list of plug-ins. I have tried using the Additional Repositories without luck either. Sorry this is so convoluted. I'm sure I'm not helping. Thanks for the quick response. I do have the api, etc.. I have SDT (wonderful app) on all of my other squeezeboxes, but for some reason having issues with pcP. It comes up in the LMS settings, but doesn't show under extras in Jivelite. Originally, it didn't show in the LMS, but I manually loaded it using WINscp. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Suggestions for using SaverSwitcher
Anyone out there using SaverSwitcher? I loaded it last night and it's like playing Whack-A-Mole. I can't seem to get all three screen saver set ups work at the same time. I'd like to set it all on manual, but then when trying to use other menu items it causes the menu to go back to Now Playing almost immediately. An example is when your trying to build a playlist. It doesn't give you enough time to pick songs before it flips back to Now Playing. I suppose if I had it on a timer it would, but I really want to use the manual mode. Any suggestions or help. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] 7.3 and XM radio
If you add two negative numbers it should still be a negative. I never could figure out why'd you'd merge two companies losing money to fix the problem. With the drop in car sales the whole satellite radio thing may be doomed. I know two subscriptions I won't be renewing because of the addition of DJ's to two of my favorite stations. The very reason I quit listening to FM and I wasn't paying for the privilege. I think combined with the fact that Satellite radio is inconvenient to install in a car and not much more fun at home with wires hanging all over for the antenna, it's just not as viable as it could be. If Rhapsody, Slacker, etc.. would get reasonable with the price of their players they could kill the market fairly quickly. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Do you think you could make SDT force a background/wallpaper change when you go to it? Most backgrounds make it very hard to read SDT or anything else for that matter. I made a custom background for my SBC just so I can use your wonderful plugin :-) If I could remember how to take a screen snapshot of the SBC screen I'd post it for you. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: XM Radio Plugin 1.0 (with Skins)

Sirius now offers 128k streams online which sound significantly better. -Greg First, as always, thank you for your work on SDT. For some of us, switching to Sirius means we'd be trashing equipment as well as moving accounts and losing money in subscription fees. For me that's not remotely practical and I really get everything I want out of XM. Most important to me is a couple of the stations I really like have grown on me like a comfortable pair of old shoes. For now I can put single stations in favorites, but it would be nice if the original plug in worked. Then I could use my remote or controller to pick stations and play them. I'm not suggesting you pick up the torch and Logitech is saying they don't have a relationship with XM. Then they say XM and Sirius are the same thing(merged). Logic says if they are the same thing, then you do have a relationship. I'm not getting on Logitech (maybe a wee bit), but believe it or not my original interest in the DUET was because all of the blurbs I read mentioned it working with XM. I downloaded XMRadio.zip and unzipped it into the plugins folder, but when I go to the plugins section in SqueezeCenter, I get this message: PLUGIN_XMRADIO (v2.0) PLUGIN_XMRADIO_DESC Plugin is incompatible with this version of SqueezeCenter. Please update. I saw in another thread that changing the interface to classic might help, but it doesn't seem to have done anything for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. JLD JLD, The first thing you need to do is go in to the XM plug in folder XM RADIO then open the install.xml file using wordpad or something similar. Change the line maxVersion7.0+/maxVersion to read maxVersion7.2+/maxVersion Then save and close. Then you need to read the rest of this thread. It's everything you need to know about XM right now. I know there aren't that many folks interested in XM, but darn. I sacrificed a few CD's on a fire last night and said some incantations. Maybe that will help. My guess from poking around in there is that it is the device id used in the setting up of the connection. At least we can hear it even if we can't see what we're hearing :-) Howard -- Howard Passman Howard Passman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16674 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53275 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins

I'm also betting everyone with an XM radio will have to replace them. Could be wrong, but I'd put a few $$ on it.
