Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Have audio-stream and json track-info feed - Want LMS plugin for KCRW Eclectic24 !?!
For general information, I have reported my RPi3/Max2Play/Jivelite problem with cover-arts embedded from amazon here: https://www.max2play.com/en/forums/topic/jivelite-dosnt-display-cover-art-served-by-m-media-amazon-com/ Paul, do you happen to know when/why some cover-art shown are "cached" via a local LMS proxy? I assume it is not you who control it, but when that happens cover-art seems to work fine. F.ex. I found this display fine on my RPi3: http://192.168.1.151:9002/imageproxy/https%3A%2F%2Fimages-na.ssl-images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FI%2F61woa6C3PCL._SL300_.jpg/image.jpg Origin (at least in this case) is a different amazon domain than the usually used m.media-amazon.com. Not sure if that is a coincidence or makes a difference... I have been mostly focused on my cover-art problem the latest days. I will try to find some time testing your show and channel info vs track-info "hacks" the coming days. Paul Webster wrote: > Their web site and iOS app shows the same problem ... and it did not > change when California went past midnight PDT ... next step is their > midnight without daylight saving. Well, as long as they have a problem too, one much think they will fix it at some point. And btw, track info works right now on Morning Becomes Eclectic show. But yes, still not on Eclectic24. I did a couple of other observations yesterday and today. The Station art for main channel is shown fine on my SB Touch, RPi3 player and on LMS web-interface. However station art for Eclectic24 channel doesn't show on my RPi3. I suspect it might be because PNG-format ain't supported on Max2Play's Jivelite player software. Would it be possible to include it as a JPG instead (I assume it is part of the plugin) ? Yesterday I also noticed the RPi3 was showing Album Art perfectly fine in the beginning. But after I had done a number a software updates including LMS792->LMS800 and updating various software on the RPi3 player I lost most Album Arts during the evening. It could be a coincidence it happened after updating software, but I did some investigations which implied it was dependent on filename of the album-art files. It looks like cover-art files ending on something like "._SL300_.jpg" or "._SL75_.jpg" doesn't show on the RPi3. Maybe the last underscore before the (last) extension is the problem, maybe it is because of the double extension (two times dot in the filename). I can't believe your plugin is to blame for this (and cover-art still shows nicely on LMS web UI and on SB Touch), and I suspect JiveLite again (which was among the software getting an update). Once I have done a bit more investigations on subject to confirm conclussion, I will report problem to Max2Play or whoever is responsible for their version of JiveLite. However those ._SLxxx_.jpg files are served from Amazon, and I just happen to know that if you remove the "._SLxxx_" part from the filenames, you usually get a higher resolution version of the cover-art file. And I'm guessing it will probably also work with my RPi3 player then. Of course adding another hack like that also increases risk of something breaks one day. But maybe worth considering? */Stig* '*rockland*.dk' (https://www.rockland.dk) - '*last.fm*/user/rockland' (https://last.fm/user/rockland) - '*discogs*.com/user/StigNygaard' (https://discogs.com/user/StigNygaard) - '*flickr*.com/photos/stignygaard' (https://flickr.com/photos/stignygaard) *Server:* LMS 8.0.0 ('LmsUpdate' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?111876)) - 1586752615 @ Apr 13 2020 on Synology DS716+II. *Clients:* 'RPi3 (Max2Play, 7\" touch, HiFiBerry Digi+ Pro)' (https://shop.max2play.com/en/raspberry-pi-2-bundle-7-display.html), SB Touch, OrangeSqueeze/SqueezePlayer. *Livingroom HiFi:* Marantz PM6005 and F3/Lyd Audiovector 2. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Have audio-stream and json track-info feed - Want LMS plugin for KCRW Eclectic24 !?!
Hi! Until recently 'KCRW Eclectic24' (https://www.kcrw.com/music/shows/eclectic24) had "built-in" track-info in their audiostream - At least when streamed via TuneIn Radio. However track-info disappeared a month or two ago. The station is great for discovering new music, and is generally very much in my taste. And I greatly miss playing the station with "now playing" track-info on my squeezebox. The audiostream is here: http://media.kcrw.com/pls/kcrwmusic.pls (https://help.kcrw.com/s/article/How-do-I-listen-to-KCRW-on-my-third-party-music-device) And I found json feed with track info here: https://tracklist-api.kcrw.com/Music/all/1?page_size=5 (or jsonp, but probably not very relevant in this case: https://tracklist-api.kcrw.com/Music/all/1?page_size=5=eclectic24) And I thought it cannot be the first time there's an audiostream and a json feed with trackinfo. Someone must already have combined an audiostream and a json track-info feed into a LMS plugin playing the audio while showing track info? With a little luck you could create a new Eclectic24 plug-in by replacing stream and feed URLs and do a few adjustments to json parsing adating to the format from KCRW's json-feed? Would be nice if scrobbling in "radio mode" (not permanent stored in my last.fm profile) was supported too. But could easily live without that :-) Any such thing out there which somebody maybe could modify to work with KCRW Eclectic 24? I have no knowledge about LMS plugins or Perl myself, but *maybe* I could even create one myself if there was a "skeleton plug-in" I was allowed and able to modify like described. /Stig */Stig* '*rockland*.dk' (https://www.rockland.dk) - '*last.fm*/user/rockland' (https://last.fm/user/rockland) - '*discogs*.com/user/StigNygaard' (https://discogs.com/user/StigNygaard) - '*flickr*.com/photos/stignygaard' (https://flickr.com/photos/stignygaard) *Server:* LMS 7.9.2 ('LmsUpdate' (https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?108960)) - 0030.1578996832 @ Jan 14 2020 on Synology DS716+II. *Clients:* 'RPi3 (Max2Play, 7\" touch, HiFiBerry Digi+ Pro)' (https://shop.max2play.com/en/raspberry-pi-2-bundle-7-display.html), SB Touch, OrangeSqueeze/SqueezePlayer. *Livingroom HiFi:* Marantz PM6005 and F3/Lyd Audiovector 2. For best quality leave at default, including bitrate limiting -disabled -for the player. The OP was not asking for best quality, but how to decrease the bandwidth used. Spotty always streams in a PCM or FLAC format with higher bitrate and bandwidth than any mp3 format has. Enabling a bitrate limit for a player, makes LMS automatically transcode any stream in higher bitrate, to the given mp3 bitrate format. First of all, I have no knowledge about Debian, Synology DSM, SPK packages or Perl. Nor any knowledge on the architecture of LMS, and only very little Linux knowledge. I must also admit that I haven't found/read the other threads you refer to. But I have downloaded and extractet content and "sub-content" (tar and tgz archives) of LmsUpdate for my NAS (http://server.pinkdot.nl/sspks/packages/LmsUpdate-x86_64-7.9.1-1503129892.spk) and done the same thing for various unix/Debian nightly build packages on http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.9 to take a closer look and compare content. And I see similarities. Would creating a new updated "LmsUpdate" be as simple as extracting the content of current LmsUpdate and replace a specific set of folders and files with similar from one of the "official" (community) nightly build archives - and pack it together again? I fully respect a simple short "No" as an answer, if it ain't that simple :-) I did get an error creating "symbolic link" when extracting some of the sub-packages on my Windows PC. I just tested playing 24bit/96kHz music from my home collection on my mobile via VPN/4G. Transcoding with LAME should be triggered by this (everything with bitrate >320kbit/s should be transcoded with LAME when streaming to my mobile devices). I can't see the bitrate or format on OrangeSqueeze/SqueezePlayer, but since it played flawlessly, I assume the transcoding happens as expected. pinkdot wrote: > Are you using Spotty? > Are you able to transcode Flac files to PCM? > Would you mind checking if Flac ->PCM is possible? > Yes, I'm using Spotty. Works perfect home using my RPi3/Max2Play based player, and even though I would normally use the native app on my Android mobile, playing music via Spotty (VPN/4G) also works fine on my mobile. With my setup/players there probably hasn't been any need for flac->pcm transcoding. So no, I don't know if that works. I can look at it when I'm home if I can find out how to set it up. Well not exactly the one you link to, which has a 2.8" screen. I bought one with larger screen, but in principle probably the same besides screen size I guess: https://shop.max2play.com/en/raspberry-pi-2-bundle-7-display.html I cannot comment on Max2Play vs piCorePlayer or other solutions. I have only tried this. I also only use it as a player, but yes it can work as both player and LMS server at once if needed. The only catch I see is that the player cannot connect directly to the mysqueezebox.com cloudserver because it's not official Logitech hardware. No problem for me though. Haven't used mysqueezebox.com in years. And LMS plugins which depends on an account or configuration on mysqueezebox.com also still works. It's just the direct connection of player that isn't possible. If you purchase one of these kits you get a free 3 months Max2Play license included, which is probably needed for the initial setup. Once you have the right plugins installed (actually comes 99% preconfigured with kit), you don't need the license anymore. You probably get more "street credit" for a piCorePlayer solution. I just purchased the Max2Play kit for convenience :-) */Stig* 'www.*rockland*.dk' (http://www.rockland.dk) - 'www.*last.fm*/user/rockland' (https://last.fm/user/rockland) - 'www.*discogs*.com/user/StigNygaard' (https://discogs.com/user/StigNygaard) - '*plus.google*.com/+StigNygaard' (https://google.me/+StigNygaard) *Server:* LMS 7.9.1 ('LmsRepack' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?107180)) - 1494667952 @ Sat May 13 on Synology DS716+II. *Clients:* 'RPi3 (Max2Play, HiFiBerry Digi+ Pro)' (https://shop.max2play.com/en/raspberry-pi-2-bundle-7-display.html), SB Touch, OrangeSqueeze/SqueezePlayer. *Livingroom HiFi:* Marantz PM6005 and F3/Lyd Audiovector 2.
