An updating seems to be essential. Thank you in advance.

Weather.com dramatically changed their page layout so I suppose that is
causing SDT to break.

A temporary fix is to change to weather underground. It is working fine.

The temporary fix is to change your setting to weather underground.

The programmer of this plugin travels a lot and sometimes fixes are
delayed.(often for weeks) Sometimes another user will put up a patch
that will fix the problem.

I, for one, love this plugin, even when I have to wait for it to be
fixed.

Every time I clear the zip code field for weather.com on the
SuperDateTime SBS plugin setting page it always reverts back to the
default zip code, which I believe is for Chicago. I also put in a
weather underground station identifier in the required place but still
 no luck.

 Thanks in advance!

Make sure you have the actual identifier. One identifier for Chicago is
KILCHICA86 Sometimes you have to try several indentifiers.

Then you need to change the SDT settings on the players. The string code
for Weather Underground are different from weather.com The SDT player
settings lists what codes you should use. Case matters.

it just reverts to default. I don't see any other settings to change to

Also I have a Touch, and there's nothing on it to change that I can

 Thanks

In Squeezecenter AKA Logitech Media Server, click settings on the
bottom right of the page. Then click your player and SDT. Change the
appropriate string settings. (They are case sensitive) You MUST change
the settings here for it to display Weather Underground.

There may be other ways to go about this but this is way I have always
done it.

So is it just the string differences for the Temp., ect? Or do I need
to change the entire string? Because what is listed there isn't a 1-1
change for every line. So I changed for example I changed the
 Temperature (°F) = %t to Temperature (°F) = %e and Humidity = %h to
Humidity = %H. As those were the only strings that looked to be
different. So is that all I'm supposed to do? Since it still isn't
working, I'm just not sure what I'm not doing. Sorry but I've never
really dealt with strings and such so I'm not trying to be dense, I just
 don't totally get it yet.

You change it to reflect whatever info you want displayed. For Example,
my string is:

%1/%r/%H/%j

This outputs:

The time, temperature in Fahrenheit (rounded up), the humidity, and the
wind speed in MPH

The / are added to break things up. You don't need to add these. You can
add whatever you want.

The string must be exact to get the proper result. In a few cases, over
the years, I have had to restart the Media Server software and the
player. Usually, the change takes effect as soon as the player
refreshes.

Hope this helps.

No such thing as dense. Only questions that need answers.

Nothing changed on my end.

I have a 15mb connection. Everything else I use network wise is working
fine.

But...I will keep watch.

I did switch to Google DNS service. Just for fun I will switch back to
Time Warner and see if there is a difference.

Hey Peter,

I set mine to poll every 15 minutes.

It has worked correctly since I changed the DNS settings from Google
back to Time Warner.

I have no idea if cause/effect is the DNS change but I monitor it to
see.

I do know this our family is so used to SDT that we can't go out side
without checking the Squeezebox first. :) It is amazing how much this
one plugin became a part of how we live.

Stops working for me too using the latest version. Initially displays

A server restart causes the plugin to work correctly again until it
updates the first time..

No, it's not a dumb question. Moose doesnt have its own support for
this,
although I see there's CLI support for it, so maybe it will soon if I
get a
moment..

In the meantime, does setting the genre list via the web-ui affect a

2008-03-26 Thread brucegrr

Greg,

I think there was something flaky going on with my Verizon Westell 327w
router/modem. Verizon uses security levels with the router that are very
hard to decipher and change. I think they do this on purpose. Their
default setting requires numerous port forwarding changes to get things
to work. So I converted it to a bridge, went back to my Dlink router and
I have had no problems since.

Thanks. As always, I appreciate your work on this plugin.

Just upgraded to Slimserver 7.0 and downloaded and installed the proper
superdatetime.

Plugin installed OK. Shows in the settings OK. But, the squeezecenter
screen shows an icon and degree sign but no number for the temp or
humidity?

The screen does refresh but there is a ? to the right.
The Squeezecenter is accessing the internet OK. I can use Squeeze
Network just fine.

Suggestions?

Bruce

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2007-11-10 Thread brucegrr

Starting to wonder if my problem with your plugin is a bigger problem
with SqueezeCenter.

When I try to click any of the internet radio links in Squeezecenter I
get:

There was an error loading the remote feed for Pandora Radio:
(malformed JSON string, neither array, object, number, string or atom,
at character offset 0 [Slim/Networking/SqueezeNetwork.pm line 259. )

Each service gives the exact same error.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, even disabled
superdatetime..to know avail

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.56

2007-05-22 Thread brucegrr

Yes .55 worked.

I am on a clean vista install. I shut both computers off last night.
Booted them up this morning and tried to scan again. I got the moose
(not responding) for about ten seconds but no other error message and
then all of a sudden it started to scan. (and did so successfully)

I made NO setting changes. So it is fixed. We just don't know WHY :)

Musta been my expert computer skills :)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.56

2007-05-21 Thread brucegrr

I am having problem scanning mysql. I have been using Moose for quite
awhileno problems. I edited the my.tt file. Re-read the setup
page.

Mysql resides on a XP computer. I am using Moose from a Vista laptop
(with uac turned off, firewall turned off)

Moose plays the music files fine, it is just the mysql I am having
problem with. I did scan using the folder method and that works fine
but I prefer to use mysql.

My settings in moose are: slimserver port 9092 usr root (I also tried
slimserver) no password

First I get a moose (not responding)

and then problem connecting to mysql server. unable to connect to any
of the specified mysql hosts

Suggestions?

It is the up and down.

I am using an R7 universal remote. It has a learning mode which I used
for the Squeezebox remote. I will try relearning the commands and see
if that works.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver

2007-04-20 Thread brucegrr

I use a universal remote to access the Squeezebox. I am having a
problem with cycling through the display lines in Super Date and Time.
They cycle through too fast. It is almost impossible to get the
temperature/humidity/wind display line.

If I use the remote that came with the Squeezebox it works fine. Is
this a remote issue or is there some kind of delay built into Super
Date and Time as it cycles through the various display lines?

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: Moose 0.50

2006-12-22 Thread brucegrr

I want to say...this is your best release, so far. Great
improvement, for me any way.

Personally, the type is about right on my screen. Before, it was too
large. I am running in a 1280 by 1024 resolution. (which is the native
resolution for my LCD screen)

Thanks for the work you put into this.

What font size are you using? I do know that , several versions ago,
choosing the large, single line font caused the screen to be blank.
Greg fixed the problem in a subsequent update.

I would try the beta (most current version)This fixed an identical
problem for me. If it doesn't for you you can easily revert to whatever
version you want to use.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: Moose 0.42

2006-10-08 Thread brucegrr

I have multipass enabled.

I have tried accessing random both through Slimserver and Moose. I
always use random play songs. I have it set to show 10 upcoming songs
and 5 previous songs.

It starts fine for the first 5 or so songs but then it stops updating
the playlist. In Slimserver it shows correctly. If I hit f5 the playlist
immediately updates properly. In the top pane the song that is
currently playing is always correct so it seems Random mix is playing
the songs just fine but for some reason the playlist stops updating.

A futher thought...

Perhaps there is an issue with how the songs are added to the
playlist?

It seems Moose stops remembering after the fifth song...as it goes to
the sixth.

Radnom mix is set to show 10 upcoming songs and 5 previously played
songs?

I am having problems with the playlist refreshing properly. When using
random song the playlist updates for the first few songs and then
stops. F5 fixes it. The top part of Moose always shows the correct song
playing . It is just the playlist that seems to be behind The playlist
shows correctly in Slimserver

I am using Moose 0.43 Slimserver 6.5.1/Fishbone skin on a Win XP
machine (AMD 64 bit processor/ 1.5 gig ram)

Chunk is set at default 50

)

H... You've got me here. Double check that you have SuperDateTime
as the OFF saver via Player Settings for that particular player. If
that's not it we can try adding some extra debugging code to the plugin
to see if it's being called for screen output. You can also try using
SoftSqueeze and setting it to use SuperDateTime as well.

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Re: Announce: Moose 0.35

2006-08-09 Thread brucegrr

Hello,

I decided to try Moose today. Looks nice. Great features.

I have a couple of questions:

1. using control/random mix/song and nothing happens. Random Mix works
fine in Slimserver

2. When using Moose with the window maximized the window is in back of
the Windows toolbar. This means the minimize, mazimize, close icons at
the top right of the window can not be accessed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Slimserver 6.3.1 on a Windows XP machine. My screen resolution is
1280x1024 (which is the native resolution for the LCD screen)
