Thanks for clarifying. For me, the current behavior is perfect. You might want to have a different color for "Squeezelite Player is not enabled", 'cause I can understand people confusing the LMS icon with SLX one. I would like for Squeezelite-X to be always visible in the tray, I set it as such in Windows under Settings, Personalization, Taskbar, Select which icons appear on the taskbar. And it works. My problem is I have to do this after every reboot, because for some reason the setting is not saved. All other icons I choose to set as always visible remain so after a reboot. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Also, if at a later date I buy a CD for an album I have added as a favorite (hence positioning it in the local library, if my assumption is correct), would removing it from Spotify's favorites be enough to remove it from local library (where it would be substituted by my personal rip)? gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
First of all, pardon my naive questions. When you say "integrate local library", I see you mention favorites. I add an album as a favorite and I should find it in my local library, correct? Would it be under the correct artist, if the relevant tag is the same? Thinking about using this to fill in "the blanks" for some artists I like, for whom I like the whole discography. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Bliss DSTM mixer
Ok, turns out it was easier than I thought. Luckily Trackstat saved only the path in the actual folders, without the shortcut portion. So I rearranged stuff as needed, rescanned library from scratch, restored trackstat data and... Bliss mixer now appears to be working. Which leads me to believe it had the information in its db in the same format as Trackstat did. No more shortcuts, just a single folder with several subfolders in it. All seems good. Thanks cpd73 for the assistance. Bear in mind there is still need for the bliss-mixer executable to get the addresses from config.ini (in my case, don't know how widespread my situation is... you could have a default at 127.0.0.1 that one can override in config.ini maybe?). gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116068 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Okay, I've now finished listening to the whole track through DAC32, which uses a more complex conversion rules (you'll see it in the log). All flawless. 37410 Now I am playing back the same track using the beta by Ralph Irving nd... it plays back without stopping. This, again, on the DAC32 with the complex conversion rule you can see in the attachment above.To say I am baffled would be an understatement. I am sure about the socketwrapper.exe versions, as I had been careful about renaming them with descriptive extensions. I will leave this play for a while and come back to see if it's stopped but it's at 16m50s now and I doubt it will stop, it always happened far sooner... Back and it's still going at 38m18s... I'll now try to use the original socketwrapper.exe, just for a laugh. And it's now at 54m55s and happily chugging along. I honestly don't know what to say. What could explain this? I wanted to wait till the entire track had played back but now, at 32m18s, I think it's time to accept that something changed. What? You mention using an older beta, while the socketwrapper beta I downloaded from Ralph Irving on github had been compiled three days ago with some cleaning up. Maybe something went wrong during the process? I will actually try to put back that version and see if now everything plays back just fine with that one too (in which case, we'll probably remain with a mystery on our hands but... I would not complain). The other thing I am going to try is using it for other clients (DAC32, Squeezelite, Boom). I will report back once the testing is complete but, maybe, in the meantime you could have a look and see if there's a difference between your source and that used by Ralph Irving to compile his beta? PS I had no window opening during playback but socketwrapperdebug.log is being created in the location you mentioned. Just thought it was worth pointing this out. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116078 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Don't know if this could be relevant. But the interruption does not appear to be constant, per player. I replayed the same track on Squeezelite-X and I got: Code: [22-03-07 17:59:31.6458] Slim::Player::Source::_readNextChunk (378) end of file or error on socket, song pos: 203881560 Before it happened at 176168024 Tried again on SB2 and I got: Code: 22-03-07 18:09:06.4100] Slim::Player::Source::_readNextChunk (378) end of file or error on socket, song pos: 26566784 Before it happened at 15073408. So... same order of magnitude, respectively, for the two cases... but different numbers nonetheless. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=116078 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Unfortunately you lose me at #2. I don't have a clue about running LMS from the command prompt. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Spotty and socketwrapper 1.12beta
Following my attempt to troubleshoot a situation where Spotty would end up playing the first 1/2/3 minutes of a song and then skip to the following track in a playlist (or stop if it was the last track in a playlist), I ended up testing a new version of socketwrapper that apparently is targeted at fixing this kind of problems. (some history here: Test version is found here: https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver-tools/pull/3?#issuecomment-1059465862 I use, to test, the Amarok album by Mike Oldfield. Single track, 1h00m03s long. Here is the log: https://pastebin.com/YaU33ZQx (I deleted a whole bunch of repeating Slim::Player::Source::_wakeupOnReadable (414) bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:71 lines to not exceed pastebin's limits). Real life results are the track starts playing and it stops after about 5 minutes. If I use this commandline, I get the whole FLAC, one hour and three seconds long: Code: "C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\Spotty\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\spotty.exe" --enable-volume-normalisation -n Squeezebox -c "C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\spotty\ba008d57" --single-track "spotify://track:7zq1yjQyLZbJGdltQk1dka" --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache | C:\PROGRA~2\SQUEEZ~1\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\flac.exe --channels=2 --sample-rate=44100 --bps=16 --endian=little --sign=signed --ignore-chunk-sizes - -o test.flac Available for further testing whatever might be needed. The very same track (Amarok 1h:00m:02s) plays flawlessly to DAC32 with this "complicated" conversion line: Code: [flac] -dcs $START$ $END$ -- $FILE$ | [sox] -q -t wav - -t flac -C 8 -b 16 - gain -8.5 bass +4.0 34 0.70q bass +4.5 100 0.70q equalizer 220 0.90q -2.2 equalizer 1050 1.00q -0.6 equalizer 1500 3.00q +0.7 equalizer 2200 1.20q +4.5 equalizer 2600 2.50q -2.5 equalizer 5800 3.50q -7.7 equalizer 7900 6.00q -3.0 treble -3.0 9000 0.70q I say this because I honestly don't think it's DAC32 at fault here. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I actually found it but didn't want to clog up the discussion with message after message. So I edited... As I was mentioning, Ogg direct now works (with no volume normalization). But what I have been experiencing, no matter the endpoint (I've got one SB2, two Booms, one DAC32 and one Squeezelite-X, on my desktop), is playback stopping after 2/3 minutes of playback and moving to the following track in a playlist, whenever any kind of transcoding is happening (so whenever volume normalization is on, for a start). Updated LMS to 8.3.0 - 1646406015 Still getting the "Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::checkBin (301) couldn't find binary for: spotty-ogg" message in logs and the entry in File Types is disabled (and I cannot enable it, simply greyed out). gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
I'm having troubles playing back native Ogg on endpoints that do support Ogg decoding. I'm using LMS Version: 8.2.1 - 1639114554 @ Fri Dec 10 07:58:57 WEST 2021 Operating system: Windows 10 - EN - cp1252 Platform Architecture: 8664 Perl Version: 5.14.1 - MSWin32-x86-multi-thread Audio::Scan: 1.02 IO::Socket::SSL: 2.068 Database Version: DBD::SQLite 1.58 (sqlite 3.22.0) Spotty is at version 4.8.0 I found the custom-convert.conf with this content: Code: spt flc * * # RT:{START=--start-position %s} [spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [flac] -cs --channels=2 --sample-rate=44100 --bps=16 --endian=little --sign=signed --fast --totally-silent --ignore-chunk-sizes - spt mp3 * * # RB:{BITRATE=--abr %B}T:{START=--start-position %s} [spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [lame] -r --silent -q $QUALITY$ $BITRATE$ - - spt pcm * * # RT:{START=--start-position %s} [spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ proxy spt pcm,ogg spt ogg * * # RT:{START=--start-position %s} [spotty-ogg] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache --pass-through $START$ With this, under Server Settings/File Types I see Spotty-->Ogg Vorbis as disabled and greyed out, I cannot change it. Logs display the following: Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::checkBin (301)couldn't find binary for: spotty-ogg If I remove everything from custom-convert.conf and leave only: Code: spt ogg * * # RT:{START=--start-position %s} [spotty-ogg] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache --pass-through $START$ Under Server Settings/File Types Spotty-->Ogg Vorbis is no longer disabled and it refers to spotty.exe. But if I try to play an album I get, as an example: Code: [22-03-04 03:11:11.0842] Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::checkBin (301) couldn't find binary for: spotty-ogg [22-03-04 03:11:11.0843] Slim::Player::TranscodingHelper::getConvertCommand2 (490) Error: Didn't find any command matches for type: spt [22-03-04 03:11:11.0844] Slim::Player::Song::open (417) Error: Couldn't create command line for spt playback for [spotify://track:1V8aPypxFrIk5TSa8E3qM0] [22-03-04 03:11:11.0846] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_playersMessage (796) Problem: Unable to play file type for:: spotify://track:1V8aPypxFrIk5TSa8E3qM0 [22-03-04 03:11:11.0848] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_willRetry (1408) no retry data [22-03-04 03:11:11.0849] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_setStreamingState (2386) new streaming state IDLE [22-03-04 03:11:11.0850] Slim::Player::StreamingController::nextsong (889) The next song is number 0, was 11 How can I solve this? gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.6 - sorting option for Albums/Artists/Songs, replay gain fix
Some doubts. What use for the "Only show my library's albums for my library's artists" setting? --- If I search for "The Cure", I am presented with a list of songs on the bottom and the usual Artists, Albums, Playlists, Podcasts, Podcast Episodes, Users icons on top. If I click on Artists, nothing appears. If I search for "Genesis": list of songs, same six icons on top but if I click on Artists I get the full list of Artists with "Genesis" in their name (and the first is Genesis prog band, as expected). Why? Again on search: if I clear the search history and I search for something, the first case above happens. If I search for Genesis I find myself in "The Cure" scenario, where I don't get Artists results. I then search for "The Cure" and I get the expected Artists results. Last, always on search: with clean history, I am using Material skin btw, the first search presents the search requester immediately, type search word(s) press enter and go to results (but no Artists search results). After the first search, pressing on Search first brings you to search history and there you can input search word(s). If accessing search history, previous searches (the first one) that did not show Artists results now show them. S... to sum things up it seems to me that the first search one conducts has problems with the results presented, for whatever reason. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114836 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
As usual, I first wish to thank you for keeping up the development of this. Hours of joy and trouble free music enjoyment on my desktop. Thank you! I came to ask about a functionality that I hoped could be added but after installing the last version (2.7.14.0) I suspect the functionality is there but it's giving me problems. I would like for the back function on the mouse (the one that makes you browse back in internet browsers) to apply to the music library panel, while browsing through music. Now what I see is that the first press does nothing and the second press completely blanks the program window. Knowing there's Chromium in the background, I pressed F5 to reload and that brings me back to the initial screen. Now I press F5 a couple of times and... the back button on the mouse works as expected. So, all in all, not much of a bug report, I'm aware. But maybe others will meet the same situation, so I'll leave it here as reference. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
Thanks for replying so quickly. I went on seeking solutions... and I'm not sure the problem lied with Squeezelite-X. The server is a fixed machine, always wired. And it's the same machine on which Squeezelite-X is running. I thought the problem lied with SQLX, is there an official acronym for it? :), but then I noticed that accessing the plugins page in servers settings (web interface) crashed the server too. So I wondered whether first the server crashed and then SQLX gave its errors. I looked at Squeezebox Server logs and I found this: Code: [20-08-15 04:14:21.6538] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1255) Warning: [04:14:21.6536] cannot unlink file for C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\Spotty\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\spotty.exe: Permission denied at /Slim/Utils/PluginDownloader.pm line 90 [20-08-15 04:14:21.6543] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1255) Warning: [04:14:21.6543] cannot remove directory for C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\Spotty\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread: Directory not empty at /Slim/Utils/PluginDownloader.pm line 90 [20-08-15 04:14:21.6549] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1255) Warning: [04:14:21.6548] cannot remove directory for C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\Spotty\Bin: Directory not empty at /Slim/Utils/PluginDownloader.pm line 90 [20-08-15 04:14:21.6554] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1255) Warning: [04:14:21.6553] cannot remove directory for C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\Spotty: Directory not empty at /Slim/Utils/PluginDownloader.pm line 90 [20-08-15 04:14:21.7964] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1255) Warning: [04:14:21.7962] IO error: Can't open file C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\Spotty\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\spotty.exe for write : Permission denied at /Slim/Utils/PluginManager.pm line 861 [20-08-15 04:14:21.8003] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1255) Warning: [04:14:21.8002] cannot unlink file for C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\Spotty\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\spotty.exe: Permission denied at /Slim/Utils/PluginDownloader.pm line 131 [20-08-15 04:14:21.8012] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1255) Warning: [04:14:21.8011] cannot remove directory for C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\Spotty\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread: Directory not empty at /Slim/Utils/PluginDownloader.pm line 131 [20-08-15 04:14:21.8019] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1255) Warning: [04:14:21.8018] cannot remove directory for C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\Spotty\Bin: Directory not empty at /Slim/Utils/PluginDownloader.pm line 131 [20-08-15 04:14:21.8063] Slim::Utils::Misc::msg (1255) Warning: [04:14:21.8062] cannot remove directory for C:\ProgramData\Squeezebox\Cache\InstalledPlugins\Plugins\Spotty: Directory not empty at /Slim/Utils/PluginDownloader.pm line 131 And I remembered that yesterday (or today, I honestly don't remember), SQLX alerted me to a Spotty update being available. I updated and restarted the server from within SQLX. Maybe something went wrong there, because when I accessed Task Manager (Windows 10) I saw like 8 or 9 different spotty.exe instances. But according to the plugins page, spotty was not installed. So I force stopped all those instances, deleted all folders and files related to spotty, restarted the server and... crossing fingers, now everything seems to be working correctly. I am sorry for thinking that SQLX was the culprit, while it probably was simply reacting to the server stopping, and not causing it to stop. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Waiting for solution/suggestions, I've settled on using -C 10 for recompressing to Ogg Vorbis at around 500 kbps. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Yeah, re. the above, I assembled a "frankenstein" custom-convert line to test the idea. Code: spt ogg * bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70 # RB:{BITRATE=--abr %B}T:{START=--start-position %s} [spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [lame] -r --silent -q $QUALITY$ $BITRATE$ - - | [sox] -q -t mp3 - -t ogg -C 7 - gain -6.9 equalizer 30 0.43q +6.2 equalizer 699 2.00q +1.0 equalizer 2924 4.11q -1.7 equalizer 6031 5.05q -6.2 equalizer 9825 4.08q +2.2 equalizer 83 4.24q +1.3 equalizer 209 1.54q -1.2 equalizer 2842 0.1q +0.2 equalizer 12443 1.29q +2.7 equalizer 19698 0.46q -11.8 I disabled all other conversions and checked player.source debug, the line gets used and plays perfectly each and every song. I guess the problem ha something to do with buffer somehow. Anybody has any idea? Buffer in sox? Buffer in Squeezelite? It's strange because I have convert.conf stuff much more complex than this giving me no problem, with flac output. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I took out the equalization portion of the sox instruction, leaving just: Code: spt flc * bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70 # RT:{START=--start-position %s} [spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [sox] -q --endian little -t s16 -r 44100 -c 2 - -t flac -C 0 -b 24 - One song played through completely, the next one stopped in the middle like before and the four after that I've tried, same thing. Next I tried disabling the above line and went back to using the ogg->flac one in standard custom-convert.conf from Spotty. Same thing is happening. Songs play for a while and then stop. You have full logs in the previous message above for when that happens (with sox). The only way I am able to play music fully is by using the native OGG streaming option or the OGG->MP3 option. Which leads me to believe it's a problem of... buffer? Since playing and pausing, playing and pausing brings songs to their end evend with sox or flac. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.0 - integrate local library with your Spotify collection (LMS 8+)
Ok, I don't know what more to try... My intent is of using sox to equalize music coming from Spotty to my headphones. My custom.conf line reads like this: Code: spt flc * bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70 # RT:{START=--start-position %s} [spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [sox] -q --endian little -t s16 -r 44100 -c 2 - -t flac -C 0 -b 24 - gain -6.9 equalizer 30 0.43q +6.2 equalizer 699 2.00q +1.0 equalizer 2924 4.11q -1.7 equalizer 6031 5.05q -6.2 equalizer 9825 4.08q +2.2 equalizer 83 4.24q +1.3 equalizer 209 1.54q -1.2 equalizer 2842 0.1q +0.2 equalizer 12443 1.29q +2.7 equalizer 19698 0.46q -11.8 It works perfectly. I can write a *complete* output file, correctly processed by sox, if I use the tokenized command from logs. The problem comes when I play through my Squeezelite installation (Windows 10 Pro x64 1903, Squeezelite v1.9.7-1256). Playback starts normally and music is perfect but... after a minute or so, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, playback stops. If I was using a playlist, playback goes to the next track, where the behaviour repeats. Now, I've activated all debug logs I thought might help in solving this. Note that the Squeezelite player has the bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70 mac address, as per the custom.conf line above. https://pastebin.com/dXTwnymR >From what little I can see, the buffer fills fast and for a certain amount of time remains at 99% fullness. Then we get this: Code: [20-07-09 02:49:04.5769] Slim::Player::Source::_readNextChunk (349) Read to end of file or pipe [20-07-09 02:49:04.5771] Slim::Player::Source::_readNextChunk (372) end of file or error on socket, song pos: 15813109 [20-07-09 02:49:04.5772] Slim::Player::Source::_readNextChunk (377) bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70 mark end of stream [20-07-09 02:49:04.5775] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (270) bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70: LocalEndOfStream in PLAYING-STREAMING -> Slim::Player::StreamingController::_Streamout [20-07-09 02:49:04.5776] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_setStreamingState (2386) new streaming state STREAMOUT [20-07-09 02:49:04.5777] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (302) bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70: LocalEndOfStream - new state PLAYING-STREAMOUT Followed by this: Code: [20-07-09 02:49:23.0092] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (270) bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70: StatusHeartbeat in PLAYING-STREAMOUT -> Slim::Player::StreamingController::_CheckSync [20-07-09 02:49:23.0593] Slim::Networking::Slimproto::client_readable (393) Slimproto frame: DSCO, len: 1 [20-07-09 02:49:23.0598] Slim::Networking::Slimproto::_disco_handler (589) Squeezebox got disconnection on the data channel: Connection closed normally [20-07-09 02:49:23.0601] Slim::Player::StreamingController::playerEndOfStream (2286) bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70 [20-07-09 02:49:23.0605] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (270) bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70: EndOfStream in PLAYING-STREAMOUT -> Slim::Player::StreamingController::_AutoStart [20-07-09 02:49:23.0608] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_setStreamingState (2386) new streaming state STREAMOUT And from there the fullness slowly goes down until playback stops in the middle of the song. With this setup Ogg file are played directly: [image: https://i.imgur.com/dchIngJ.png] But I did not touch custom-convert.conf as far as order of codecs is concerned. I simply added a line to equalize stuff. If I go this way: [image: https://i.imgur.com/Is4epFa.png] The flac rule gets picked up. The second flac rule I disable is the one with sox equalization, but the first flac rule was installed with the regular installation of the plugin. Currently my custom-convert.conf file looks like this: Code: spt ogg * bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70 # R [spotty-ogg] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache --pass-through spt pcm * * # RT:{START=--start-position %s} [spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ spt flc * * # RT:{START=--start-position %s} [spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [flac] -cs --channels=2 --sample-rate=44100 --bps=16 --endian=little --sign=signed --fast --totally-silent --ignore-chunk-sizes - spt mp3 * * # RB:{BITRATE=--abr %B}T:{START=--start-position %s} [spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [lame] -r --silent -q $QUALITY$ $BITRATE$ - - spt flc * bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70 # RT:{START=--start-position %s} [spotty] -n Squeezebox -c "$CACHE$" --single-track $URL$ --bitrate 320 --disable-discovery --disable-audio-cache $START$ | [flac] -cs --channels=2 --sample-rate=44100 --bps=16 --endian=little --sign=signed --fast --totally-silent --ignore-chunk-sizes - | [sox] -q -t flac - -t flac -C 0 -b 24 - gain -6.9 equalizer 30 0.43q +6.2 equalizer 699 2.00q +1.0 equalizer 2924 4.11q -1.7 equalizer 6031 5.05q -6.2 equalizer 9825 4.08q +2.2 equalizer 83 4.24q +1.3 equalizer 209 1.54q -1.2 equalizer 2842 0.1q +0.2 equalizer 12443 1.29q +2.7 equalizer 19698 0.46q -11.8 So I don't get the "Your codec order has flac before ogg" thing. Tried Spotty with Squeezebox Server 7.9.3 - 1579195498 @ Thu Jan 16 21:08:22 WEST 2020 on Windows 10 Pro x64. Now, I use squeezelite installed on the same machine, to listen on headphones while at my desk. Squeezelite is latest release 1.9.7-1256 available. When I listen to Spotify songs play just fine for a little while, more than a minute, less than two usually. And then in logs I see stuff like this: Code: [20-07-04 02:19:44.0013] Slim::Player::StreamingController::_eventAction (270) bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70: StatusHeartbeat in PLAYING-STREAMING -> Slim::Player::StreamingController::_CheckSync [20-07-04 02:19:44.6747] Slim::Player::Source::_readNextChunk (349) Read to end of file or pipe [20-07-04 02:19:44.6749] Slim::Player::Source::_readNextChunk (372) end of file or error on socket, song pos: 154085619 [20-07-04 02:19:44.6751] Slim::Player::Source::_readNextChunk (377) bc:5f:f4:bf:3e:70 mark end of stream And playbacks skips to the next song in playlist, rinse and repeat. Any idea on why? Also... I launch squeezelite with these arguments: "-n Headphones -s Music -c flac,pcm,mp3,ogg,aac,wma,dsd -o 17 -a :1". Last argument is for bitperfect playback through WASAPI exclusive. But the thing that I don't understand is why I see SB Server transcoding to flac when the player is configured to handle ogg natively. Operatively it doesn't change a thing, but I'm curious... gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111923 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Using Material Skin, is there a reason why in the alphabetical order sometimes letters are missing? I refer to the vertical list of letters that appears to the left of a list of artists, for instance. In the default artists list I miss the letter L. In a custom artist list I miss the letter M. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezelite resampling, how to?
I'm using Squeezelite on a Windows machine, connecting to an external DAC while using Equalizer APO to equalize my headphones. As Equalizer APO does not allow for WASAPI or Asio, I need to go by the sampling rate I use on Windows control panel. I have mostly 16/44.1 files but some are 24/88.2 and some are 24/96. How should I use the -u option in Squeezelite to resample everything to 96/24, in order to avoid Windows' bad upsampling functionalities? I guess sox can make a better job out of it (if I'm right and Squeezelite still uses sox libraries to do this). I've read here https://ralph-irving.github.io/squeezelite.html but I'm missing how to instruct to upsample to 24/96. There's all sorts of instructions to customize how sox upsamples but the instructions are missing the most basic parameters (or I'm blind...). Thanks in advance. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112462 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

For reasons beyond the scope of this question, I often find myself switching sound device and disabling the previous one in use. Let's say from the motherboard sound card to an external USB DAC. When I do this, Squeezelite refuses to use the new default output device, even though in settings I have it set as "Default". Is there something I can do to fix this? With my last update (still on 2.0.10) it appears that placing SLX in the Startup folder makes it start *before* Squeezeserver has started, leading to the playlist previously loaded being lost, substituted with one which I honestly don't know where it comes from (probably it's the last playlist that Squeezerver correctly has in store for that player). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
Great work going on with the new skin. Can't wait to try it. Meanwhile, I've been using SLX *a lot* lately. One thing that seems... "off": I use the MiniPlayer a lot and I think it should not reside in the taskbar. I know I first asked to change its name but the more I use the more I get convinced it doesn't make sense for it to be there. I explain. When you are using the miniplayer, you see it in the taskbar. If you minimize it, it goes in the taskbar. If you expand it, it stays in the taskbar. But if you click on the tray icon, you get the expanded version and now two entries in the taskbar. If you reduce to miniplayer this second "instance" you are left with a single Miniplayer window (and that's correct). I guess it would be better for Miniplayer not to be in the taskbar. It takes away space for something you can in any case control from the tray icon. This way, when you expand it you would get a single taskbar instance (which I feel is less confusing behaviour). I hope my explanation was clear. gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
That new skin looks quite interesting! I wanted to ask if it was possible to have the tray icon in a different color when using an external squeezelite. I have it as a service and the "grayed out" icon is easy to confuse with other grayed out icons which mean "bad" things in my system (namely VPN not working). I hope it's not a too annoying request and I would understand if it's not possible to implement it. Thanks and keep up the good work. What you're doing has contributed to my pleasure in listening to music when working at my PC. I discovered that I'm listening to much more music, as Squeezelite-X is such a joy to use. :) gorman's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] ANNOUNCE: YouTube Plugin (API v3)
Installed it on LMS 7.9.1 and it appears to work just fine. I had some problems because all the different YT authorizations (oauth, keys, etc.) ended up with a space in front of them in the settings page. Since I did not add a space (for both ID client and secret OAuth I used google's built in function to copy to clipboard), I wonder whether the space was there by default and I simply pasted after it. Plugin version is 0.82.0 from standard repository. Now everything works fine. Looking forward to HLS support, hoping it will allow to select best audio track available or something like that.
