Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Ratings Light
Thank you for providing a very useful tool. I have been looking for a way to use exported ratings in a Windows tagging program like MP3Tag or Mediamonkey for a long time. The exported text files, however, have UNIX paths which these programs cannot handle. Playlists saved from LMS running on windows work fine. Is it possible to have the plugin follow the filepath convention being used by LMS itself or have an export setting for UNIX/Windows in the plugin? As an alternative, any suggestion for an easy m3u converter would be great. As a last resort, maybe I can create a macro in MS Word. guptaas's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21096 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113344 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP custom Tags. Looking for mmmexec.exe
I just discovered from this old post in MP3Tag forums that it is possible to add to the inbuilt tags in MusicIP. https://community.mp3tag.de/t/how-to-get-bpm-tory-tlan-into-musicip-mixer-using-mp3tag/7314 It would be very helpful to use tags like MOOD and OCCASION to create some filters in MIP. Re: Announce: Spicefly SugarCube Version 2.03 (Automatic MusicIP DJ) for 7.x
After experimenting for many weeks, this is how I tweak Sugarcube. Hope it saves someone some effort. -Trackstat plugin for play counts and dynamic ratings -Custom Scan plugin for MusicIP export. This is not needed by sugarcube but helps make static playlists, for whatever purpose, using MusicIP mixer (Windows only) -I have needed MusicIP plugin to enable communication between MIP and LMS. Nothing to do with Sugarcube. -Set up a primary filter to exclude what you never want. e.g. Genre contains-Speech, Christmas, Explicit etc. Ratings-*, ** etc. File-Path to any undesired folder -Use this filter as the first criterion for any more needed filters -If no recipe is employed, MIP suggestions are controlled by the filter, Mix Style and Mix Variety in the Player Sugarcube settings. Style seems to be overlap of genres and variety seems to be the closeness of the fingerprint. Go up on Style if abrupt genre shifts bother you. Go up on Variety to dilute the MIP fingerprint match. -The number of tracks requested is in Sugarcube Plugin settings. Sugarcube using Trackstat will then select a track from this list based on past plays and ratings. The MIP suggestions are in order of closeness of match. If the total music collection is large and the request is for many tracks, Sugarcube might get very far from the best MIP suggestions because of stats. One can control that by limiting the number of tracks requested. -Net results are very dependent on the size of the music library and stats. After using for about 2 months, Im hardly seeing the best tracks in my favorite genres but expect them to return back after Ive played or skipped (decreases rating in my setup) mediocre tracks With the above setup, I have discovered the best way ever to effortlessly use my library fully. All of that has been made possible by the many wonderful developers and advanced users in these forums. guptaas's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21096 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Since others are able to use the iPeng player successfully over VPN, it is something peculiar to my setup. Since the problem is more in a moving car, it has something to do with connectivity. Since I have no difficulty streaming smoothly to other applications and the problem is exaggerated if a co traveler attempts a search, it suggests that iPeng player is more dependent on a consistently good two way connection and a responsive server. Your explanation that iPeng is controlled by the server then leads me to the conclusion that I need to improve the performance of LMS at home. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
iPeng player on an iPhone 12 stutters a lot or sometimes suddenly kills playback with a loud sound in a moving car while fully connected to a 5G or LTE network. I connect through a self hosted split tunnel OpenVPN connection. It seems to work fine even over a weak connection in one spot. Bitrate limiting settings don't make any difference, FLACs and 128 bit mp3s both stutter. Playback buffer is large (default). I have no problems streaming other files over the same VPN connection - iSub streams audio flawlessly from a subsonic server, VLC player plays back video files without issue. I have tried LMS hosted over both a Synology NAS and a PC with sufficient resources without improvement. I do have MusicIP tags, but not images, written into the files, in case the size of tags matters. I would love to use iPeng to take advantage of Sugarcube/MusicIP auto queuing but so far it has proved unusable for longer than 20-30 mins. I assume the player reads ahead and attempts to cache the next queued song but do not see any way to manually download anything to the phone. A desirable feature, if feasible, could be caching an entire playlist to the phone before starting the drive. To have iPeng player work freestanding with just cached data without any connection to LMS would be ideal but I have seen posts rejecting that possibility. I'd love access to cached music with skeletal info in an "offline mode" without the full power of the database. guptaas's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21096 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I was able to make and save a filter back to the Synology headless MIP. Now I need to figure out why no ratings are visible in this file. They are an important part of desired Filters. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spicefly SugarCube - DSTM and Google Traffic
Thank you very much for making things a bit clearer. I cant wait to use this tool to rediscover neglected tracks. Another frustration is the inability to pass filters generated on a windows machine to headless MIP and LMS running on docker/Synolgy NAS. I have googled the subject extensively, but cant find a way to share/copy a meaningful autoload.m3lib. The music folder is prepared on the windows machine and is mirrored nightly to the Synolgy. I can use the local copy or a mounted NAS folder for MusicIP mixer on Windows but have no mechanism to deal with the drive letter and perhaps the back slashes in the Windows path. As an alternative, I can easily generate m3us with correct Unix paths from Mediamonkey. Is it possible to - 1) Exclude all tracks in an m3u from Sugarcube mixes guptaas's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21096 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112703 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: Announce: Spicefly SugarCube Version 2.03 (Automatic MusicIP DJ) for 7.x
After investing a lot of effort over many days, I have a large library fingerprinted, a headless musicIP & LMS working on a Docker/Synolgy NAS and love how musicIP comes up with an amazing sequence. Sugarcube succeeds in taking it a step further but has been very- frustrating in consistency-. Its simply amazing to see a perfect endless list which can be kept going for 2-3 days. However, without any change in settings, the same seed will lead to a list which has no connection whatsoever to the seed the next time around. GUI for headless musicIP shows no problem. Sugarcube Live view shows no communication problem but has a randomly selected set which is related to itself but not the seed. Attempted playing with SC settings for the player without any success. The standard MusicIP app works just fine. This leads to the second difficulty. There is -little information available on the actual meaning of the buttons-. I have spent days reading every single page on the Spicefly site. Am I missing a manual right in front of my nose? Simple example - I can't make sense of the drop down menu for Track Ratings and what to expect between Disabled/lowest/highest when I can insert <2 right below it. 35373 I really don't want to give up on a wonderful way to use music laboriously collected over decades. I'm sure this has been resolved because the last discussions seem to be back in 2012, so I have something wrong going on. This is all I think I have done inside LMS: - Exported stats from CustomScan to musicIP for ratings. Successful in including unrated songs as rating of 3. - Changes in SC Plugin Settings: Enabled TrackStat and 'Christmas' block - Changes in Player based SC settings: 'Always blocked artist' changed to 'None', tried back and forth 'Mix by Song/Album', blocked tracks rated < 2 +---+ |Filename: Untitled.jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=35373| +---+ guptaas's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21096 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=73988 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] LMS on New Synology DS220+
Trying the Docker version now using Perl 5.24.0-0074 and Logitech Media Server Version: 8.1.2. Most of Erland's plugins were missing after adding the correct repository. Downloaded them from http://downloads.isaksson.info. Tinkered around and discovered that if I make a directory called Plugins under config/cache and copy the plugins there, they get installed. The problem now is with giving these plugins correct working folders for their definitions and templates. All Playlist definitions directory fields were prefilled with my Playlists directory listed as "/music/Playlists" and nothing in the Playlist templates directory field. I filled those with "/music/Playlists" as well. It seems the plugins are unable to write to that folder. This folder was mapped "/music/Playlists:/playlist:rw" during the package install. However, I am able to browse to the original name "Playlists" in the plugin settings under the 'Advanced' tab. I added "Everybody" and gave full Read/Write Permissions in File Station to this folder. No success. I was able to use all these plugins in LMS 7.7.6 without Docker and forum discussions suggest LMS versions prior to 8.0 allow these plugins to work fine with subsequent upgrading of LMS. I haven't figured out where to get an older version and how to install it in Docker. Would appreciate any help with either approach - fix 8.1.2 install or a way to roll back to 7.9 in Docker. guptaas's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21096 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114750 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

My chief interest is to see if this app helps take advantage of obsessive tagging in navigation more smoothly than the standard free app. So far it takes me more to navigate via tag fields- The free app lets me use both standard and user-defined tags with multiple values allowed, as branches to navigate from. I would like to get that done in minimum steps. Is the Now playing screen customizable? I would like an informative display - art, artist, album, year, composer, track no., title.
