FWIW, I've ended up with 2.1.1 of uPnP, and it seems to be working fairly well here. It's hard for me to go to the dev version to help with testing as I have "non technical users" to deal with. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce : BBC Sounds Plugin
I'm seeing a small problem with the "continue listening" feature in the plugin. When I've listened to part of a show via LMS and then come back to it later using the "continue listening" menu, it tells me that there's only 1 minute remaining. If I then start playing the show in question, it actually resumes at the right place where I left off. If I go into the BBC Sounds website and look at the same show, I see the same thing, the progress bar on the My Sounds summary page is fully orange, it says 1 minute remaining, but then actually resumes playing at the correct point as well, when I click into the show to play it. I guess this may be a BBC bug, but I did also notice that if I play a show through the website only, it does seem to get the summary info correct and this issue doesn't appear. ---- tw99's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51684 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113045 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I'm very grateful for your work, and it definitely sounds like a good idea that you've updated and modernised some of your code, so I guess some disruption is to be expected, especially given the large variety of devices that it needs to work with. What are your feelings about making the source for the helper code public at some point ? Thanks Stuart, it's handy to be able to add these as LMS Favourites, it'll help the less tech-savvy users in the household :) As an FYI for anyone else trying it, I was a bit confused originally because when I tried to add (say) my existing "Radio Favourite BBC 6Music" as an LMS Favourite, the only option presented on the menu was "remove favourite". It seems this was because I already had a "normal" LMS Favourite for 6Music, and presumably the same key is being used for the "Radio Favourite" version. I'm just using it with the default settings now, which so far seem pretty sensible. One question I have is about the "Track Image". Reporting this just in case it's NOT a BBC metadata issue and reflects some underlying problem. I noticed today when browsing the Gideon Coe show on 6Music that the episodes are out by one day. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce : BBC Sounds Plugin
I've tried swapping over to BBC Sounds for live listening (even though this still works from BBC iPlayer plugin). I'm finding that the way the player display is managed becomes quite distracting and a bit annoying. I think this might have also been discussed earlier in the thread, but what I see is a switch between the "current track playing" artwork and the "programme presenter" artwork, every 10-20 seconds or so. If I'm listening on a PC, this means I've got a player window in the corner of my vision that keeps updating and attracting my attention. Similarly on my phone unless I turn it over so I can't see the screen ! I think the way that iPlayer handled this was much more effective as it changed a lot less. It would certainly be very useful to have an option to have a less-noisy display, even if it was just to stop the track artwork being used and keeping the programme artwork there constantly. ---- tw99's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51684 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=113045 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I've previously used Squeezepad, but it doesn't quite work for this particular scenario. The basic idea is that it needs to be useable by someone who doesn't have to understand the niceties of the LMS ecosystem, but can just start the App, pick something from the Favourites menu and have it work 100% of the time (or at least 99.99%!). - Needs to run on an old iPad Mini that's running IOS 9.3.5 - OK I think ? - Needs to have local player support - OK with in-app purchase - When the App is started or brought to the foreground, it must be able to reliably select its own local player as the player to be controlled, and not require a subsequent menu selection to pick it from the list of players on the server (This is where Squeezepad fails, as there's some timing issue when it starts up). Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Squeezelite-X
Hi Greg. It's not password protected, and I am using Material Skin. The problem is very reproduceable, so I got a wireshark capture by leaving wireshark running as I suspended and re-awoke the PC. From looking at the capture and trying to surmise what it's doing, there are a few different HTTP interactions, but looking at the key one (stream 25) it seems to do the following: POST REQUEST WITH PARAMETERS: {\"ID\":0,\"METHOD\":\"SLIM.REQUEST\",\"PARAMS\":[\"\",[\"SERVERSTATUS\",0,100]]} This gets a response that lists among other things all the connected players *but NOT the squeezelite-X player itself*. POST REQUEST WITH PARAMETERS {\"DATA\":{\"RESPONSE\":\"/C9ED997C/SLIM/SERVERPREFS\",\"REQUEST\":[[\"PREFSET\"]]},\"ID\":\"38\",\"CHANNEL\":\"/SLIM/SUBSCRIBE\",\"CLIENTID\":\"C9ED997C\"} THIS GETS A SUCCESS RESPONSE. POST REQUEST WITH PARAMETERS {\"ID\":0,\"METHOD\":\"SLIM.REQUEST\",\"PARAMS\":[\"CC:CC:09:E2:4B:D0\",[\"STATUS\",0,500,\"TAGS:CDEGILQTYSAKNS\"]]} This gets a success response with a bunch of details about the player with the MAC address cc:cc:. which is the player that it always incorrectly picks, which is NOT the squeezelite-X player. So it looks to me like it's what I had suggested previously, at the point where the server is queried for the list of active players, the Squeexelite-X player has not yet been registered. So it can't be chosen, and it ends up picking the first one in the list instead. There's another stream (stream 22) as well, which looks like it might be the one that is actually registering the local player. That seems to get a failure, it then retries and gets a success, and then sends a few more "subscribe" requests. I've attached the full decodes as text files on the assumption they'll mean more to you (or mherger) than me ! 31833 31834 +---+ |Filename: stream22.txt | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=31834| +---+ tw99's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51684 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108550 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Apologies if this issue has been discussed previously. I'm using Squeezelite-x with the local player enabled. I find that quite often when Windows comes out of Sleep mode, that Squeezelite-x ends up by default controlling one of my other players. So when I hit play, the music starts somewhere else, and I have to swear a bit, and change it to control the Squeezelite-x player first. I disabled the native ogg support and forced it to use FLAC transcoding on the server (on the setttings/advanced/file types page)- that way you can certainly seek within tracks, and ReplayGain works properly as well. I believe I've seen a reply from Michael recently where he was considering removing the native support anyway due to some other issue. tw99's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=51684 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112020 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
