There are currently two sets* of Philippe's plugins.
The old stable set and the new dev/beta set.
To get the beta set you need to have Philippe's beta repository
configured in your LMS plugin page as an additional source of plugins.

At some point the beta cycle will finish and those plugins will become
the stable set and those without the extra repository configured will
then have the new plugins available.

* where two sets could be three ... because there may well be some
versions that are even more frozen in time because the hardware platform
that they are running on of the LMS that they are using is no longer
actively supported.

Hi, Not sure if it's my set up but the version of @phillipe44's plugins
that are available via the plugin configuration page seem to be very
out-of-date and not auto-updating to the latest versions. I've resorted
to manually updating the plugins from the Github repos - is anyone else
having this issue?

It does that but when you switch on the virtual device in LMS. Now,
there is an option in LMS for all SB that allows resume when devices is
turned on or reconnects, wouldnt that work for you?

First I want to thank you for a great plugin.
I saw that there is an auto_play flag in prefs that isn't available in
GUI. I tried turning it on but my airplay devices doesn't start playing
when I turn them on.
Is it possible to make it work like that or what is the purpose of the
auto_play flag?

Thanks Paul.
Fixed it.
I edited the post because plugins page was showing 1.1.1 originally,
then changed to 0.4.63, but now I updated to dev 1.2 and it seems to be
working now.  Now shows 1.2.1.1

I have mute on pause selected which works, but it does not seem to
unmute when reselect play - I have to adjust volume.  That might be a
Denon implementation of airplay though.

You have edited the message to change the version number of AirPlay
Bridge ... but what version do you see listed in the LMS Plugins page?
If 1.1 and you want to see the problem resolved then you should probably
move to the dev 1.2 version by using Philippe's other repository.
It might bring new problems ... but old problems are unlikely to be
fixed in the 1.1 version.

I tried Airplay bridge to my Denon x4700H - it works, but if I try to
seek then it starts to play and immediately pauses.  If the player is
paused and then I press play, it restarts the track.  I can pause or
seek tracks when using the bridge to play on a Mini Pod speaker and it

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by multi-homed device, but LMS is
running on an Ubuntu machine with no containerization, and the machine
should have only one IP on the LAN. The motherboard has two ethernet
NICs, but I disabled the one I'm not using, and no ethernet cable is
plugged into it.

I am having essentially the same issue as Gianpaulo. iPhone on "Subnet
A" successfully Airplays to my two Airplay players/renderers on "Subnet
B", but the LMS bridge (on "Subnet A") cannot find either of those two

I have checked pfSense firewall logs in both directions and am not
seeing anything being blocked. I am also running LMS and the bridge
natively on my single bare-metal server (on Ubuntu 22.04), with no
Docker or other containerization. Additionally, I have verified that the
Ubuntu server can see the AVR and the Apple TV by running the mdns-scan

I had the same issue on DS114 which is Armada370 arm7l. I think
squeeze2raop have not determined appropriate binary for your arch.
You can try to chmod +x for binaries in
/volume1/@appstore/Squeeze*/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/raopbridge/Bin
as I remember. Sorry I already uninstalled LMS on Sinology because it
was not working well.

tool), and the reset of the "binary" field, I have a doubt. Which binary
is better to select on a Raspberry Pi 4B? arm or armv6?
Both seem to work on my custom install on Raspberry Pi OS Lite 32-bit.
But maybe one performs better than the other.

And now the non-static binary doesn't crash. :)

Since it worked before the upgrade to Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS, maybe it
somehow got lost during the upgrade process. I wonder what else isn't
working correctly and hasn't shown yet. Anyway, thank you so much for
helping me correct this problem. Maybe that will fix the stutter, too.

Thanks again. Pairing completes quickly and painlessly with this update
but now that the ATV is paired it cannot play any audio!
 The ATV also occasionally and randomly disappears
from the list of available players in LMS. Logs record the bridge
crashing but all other airplay players are available while the ATV is
absent. I've cleaned the config.xml and removed and reinstalled the
bridge to see if it would make a difference but no joy. Server and
bridge logs attached but I'm not sure if they reveal very much.

Version 1.1.0.9 should take care of pairing (it's better to stop the
bridge before doing the pairing BTW). Now, there is a conflict with the
plugin SuperDateTime that overwrite a system's calls. In case you have
it, just disable it for the time of pairing

Your Perl is "too" recent; I've pushed yesterday an update that might
work with 5.34 and 5.36, give it a try! (on the "dev" repository)

I gather from a search of this thread and the issues on github that
apple tv pairing can be problematic so I'm not all that hopeful but any
pointers will be appreciated.
I have an Apple TV 4k on tvOS 16.1 (latest) which I thought I'd try to
use as a player with airplay bridge. The bridge finds it and displays
the pair button but pressing that produces nothing other than this in

Salut,

i'm having some trouble running the bridge as a plugin from my Lms on
truenas, it prevents Lms to start when i'm enabling the plugin. As soon
as im removing the plugin folder, Lms is working again. I've seen you
referring to a static version in multiple place in this topic, may be
that's what i need but i can't find it anywhere, is that something i
have to compile myself? (i checked on github)

Rework is almost done now and it should be more like a polishing phase.
There is no need of LMS 8.3

- non-static should work, unless your Linux distribution is something
like 6-7+ years old (and it should not be, it's not "wise")
- if receiver are being dropped, I'd need logs
- same for the shairtunes case, I'd need logs

I think it's somewhere else in this thread: you need to change the
authentication/authorization of the ATV. I don't remember exactly where
the setting is, sorry

I spend some time trying to tweak the system and settings to make it
work again, but with very limited success. In the end, I aimed to

v0.205.3) and somehow managed to make it work again.

Some question on my side:
- Im using a specific version of LMS (Daphile) currently on 8.2.1
and cant update to 8.3. Does the new versions of Raopbridge and
Shairtunes specifically require 8.3? I didnt see anything
mentioned here
- Looking a the "big rework" topic mentioned few pages ago. Is this
rework finished or still ongoing? Is there known issue? Should we expect
again some improvements

Excellent, thanks a lot for looking into this. Not sure why, but I only
see this behavior in my other location (where I have mesh wifi built
with TP Link Deco). Everything works just fine at home where mesh is
built with Ubiquity AmpliFi.

Thanks for all your work Philippe (Paul too). I have high hopes that the
issue you identified is related to my mdns-troubles too (see a few posts
up). I'll patiently await your progress. Until then, with workarounds
I'll keep those players goin', day after day. Love it, thanks again!

So I think I've found the answer and that will have to apply to all my
plugin that use my mdns broadcast and that will be complicated,

my broadcast responses don't transverse hubs/routers (after a while,

updating all dependencies of all my plugins/work to most recent
versions. Its a pretty complicated process so Im not able to help much
for now but I will rebuild all version in the coming day/weeks and well
be able to start from there then.

Wow, I've really become a basket case and in one move I cannot even view
my LMS plugins page.

It appeared as though the bridge plugin would not generate its own XML
file. This page was either showing a not found message or a yellow
screen with an empty border.

Erase and regenerating did not appear to work, so via SSH I deleted this

Thanks for this. I was not aware of this menu and adaptation options.
With a fix audio delay of 550 ms it is in syn now and it stays in sync.

If I press forward to the next song it will get out of sync. Workaround
is to stop and to start the next song. This works and keep it in sync.

Any additional thought or tipps are appreciated.

Try playing with the delay timers in the sync settings for the players.
You might have to add a fake delay to the other ones.

Try adding a big (like 1 second) to them ... one at a time ... to hear
the effect in near real time ...
Then adjust them (you cannot go negative).

Hi,

I have build a system using the Arylic Up2Stream Amp V4 that works
perfect. It is recognized by the AirPlay Bridge and can be controlled as
other devices. However, when I start synchronization with another LMS
player (either a Squeezebox device or another device via the AirPlay
Bridge [I have WHD and Bose]) then I get a delay in the Arylic system.
Syncing of e.g. WHD / Bose / Squeesebox devices only is no problem and
works fine.

I tried different settings but was not able to solve this issue.

Does anyone has the same issue and was able to solve it or any other
suggestion here?

Or dies synchronisation with Arylic simply does not work.

I think I would chose the "erase" function on the plugin Settings page
to make it start again with default configuration and see if that
magically resolves things.

If that does not help then maybe run the bridge from the command line
using the example that you see in the plugin log (not the LMS log) just
in case there is some sort of diagnostic message that appears on the
console that is not in the logs.

Otherwise hope that Philippe arrives with some good ideas.

I was able to connect via SSH. I'm new at this so any commands you can
share would be appreciated.

Would love to get this going. As I said, it was working fine until I
modified the plug-in while it was running (IMO the UI should not even
allow this "foot gun")

binary is probably newer and has not been pushed to Gibhub yet - but
take a look around

Hi all,

I have an issue with the AirPlay Bridge that I did not encounter in the
past. Devices do no longer show up in my clients after shutdown and
restart. This happens for my Denon (as in the output below), but also
for other players such as a Libratone speaker. 

ONLY when I refresh the bridge from the settings page
(squeeze2raop-x86-64-static, or non-satic for that matter, doesn't make
a difference) or when I click on "Save settings" in the AirPlay Bridge
configuration, the devices reappear immediately.

Sometimes, when I fire up the soundsystem, the Denon or Libratone is
visible for a second, literally, and then it disappears again in the
player menu (I use material skin; default skin is all the same).

I worked through this forum, have fiddled about with every possible mDNS
setting, IMPG-snooping, other multicast-settings, basically every router
setting, even tried another router, bypassed the switches in my network
(after trying every setting they offer), bypassed firewalls, changed
cables ... And of course every setting in the Bridge itself, erased the
config file and began from scratch ... no joy. 

The log output says something's going on with mDNSSearchCallback, but
again, I tink I really tinkered all of that. I guess it  must have to do
with the brigde after all; saving settings or restarting the bridge et
voila, it works. It is only a very clumsy routine to do this for every
start of my system. Or is there a way to automate clicking the
restart-button - perhaps a json call?

When I do not 'forget' the players after its shutdown (-1 setting for
remove timeout), the players of course remain visible in the skin and
they CAN most of the time be controlled some time after a restart of the
Denon or another player. Some other times they remain silent. 

I find it strange that no setting in router, switch, server or whatever
solves my problem. Maybe someone here has the brightest idea? Any help
is much appreciated!

I have had to disable the plug-in as the crashing was disrupting my
other playing. Would love some help getting this back on track because
it's a miraculous plugin. I am a bit perplexed how reinstalling LMS did
not fix this.

squeeze2raop-armv6hf, though I think originally there wasn't one
selected. i'm running PCP on a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B/4GB.

The text before the select menu says "- on raspi, use only armv6hf
version"

Hi all,

I recently enabled the "Beta: Use Unicode UTF-8 for worldwide language
support" option in the computer's Region Settings (Windows 11), so that
I could properly scan all my tracks into the library.

However, I found that enabling this setting breaks the Settings page for
many of your Plugins (AirPlay bridge, Sharplay4w, and UPnP bridge at
least).

When this setting is enabled, the Plugins no longer appear in the
"Advanced" menu in settings, or the Settings dropdown in Material Skin.
I will also get 404 errors when trying to access the settings pages
directly from the Plugins page. (404 Not Found:
plugins/Extensions/settings/plugins/[pluginname]/settings/basic.html)

I have seen some linux users resolve this issue by
updating/re-installing some Perl modules, however, I don't know how to
do that in Windows.

I'd like to be able to scan tracks with non-English characters. I
suppose if there's another way to do this I could avoid this problem,
but for now, I'm just reporting that UTF-8 encoding is the root cause in
my case.

More info: While troubleshooting I uninstalled and reinstalled the
plugins, upgraded to LMS 8.2, and finally performed a clean LMS install.
Once this didn't fix it I considered Windows settings that had changed
and remembered I enabled the UTF-8 encoding. Disabling this + restarting
resolved the issue. Sorry, I don't have logs anymore, but could get
staged up to recreate the issue if that's useful for you.

Ive enabled the Airplay Bridge on my LMS install (running on Mac), and
its not seeing either of my Airplay devices. 

Ive got 2 Roku Ultras that appear on every other Airplay-compatible
player except LMS. What might I be doing wrong? (Running default
settingsnot clear on what I should tinker with.)

I have two Pis running Picore light Picore player and LMS server.
They are connected by ethernet to a router and my Imac running 10.14
I want to be able to play Itunes with video on the Imac and audio on the
Pi server/player.
The Pi player is connected by USB to an Rma Dai2 Dac.
I can play Youtube audio on my LMS but not video.
Can this be done?
I have read about Airplay and Sharepoint. Do these work with my setup.

I am using AirPlay bridge for a while now and replaced all my
squeezelite based players for Airplay devices.
This works really well so thanks for this great plugin.

Recently I started a hunt for devices in my house that use significant
power on standby to reduce our total idle usage.
Some of my airplay players are among the devices that use quiet a lot,
and I did the following to mitigate this:
- connected the power of the device to a on/off plug that is controlled
by home automation (homeseer with your plugin).
- In the Airplaybridge plugin I changed the "remove timeout" of those
devices to -1 to make sure that the devices stay present in LMS even
when they are cut off from power.
- Configured an event in Homeseer to turn on the power switch when the
device starts playing in LMS.
- Configured an event in Homeseer to turn off the power switch when the
device is turned off in LMS.

This al works well, except for the fact that when I start playing trough
LMS the device wont start playing when its physical startup process is
completed. (In LMS it looks like it is playing but there is no sound)
I found that the best way to "repair" this is leave it alone until the
device is fully started and then press the previous or next button in
the LMS interface.
This is something that I could cope with but not the rest of my family
;)
With this knowledge I changed the powerup event in my home automation
software to execute the "previous" action on the LMS player 20 seconds
after the powerup, but for some reason this is not the same as pressing
"previous" in the webinterface and doesn't fix the playback.

Now my question is what is the best route to proceed:
- Is there a way to configure Airplay Bridge to "selfheal" this
situation restoring playback without the need to intervene with
"previos" or "next" commands?
- Or is this not possible and should I proceed trying to initiate these
commands trough my home automation?

It is normal and in fact if you let it idle for a while, the same will
happen. Local control is only valid when something is playing

I have a problem that my Audio Pro C5 is sometimes not present when I
turn it on and need to restart airplay bridge in order for it to
return.
In the log I can see that the last activity was 19.20 last night but
nothing when I turned it on this morning.
I'm running the following config:

Server IP Address: 192.168.1.14
Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8
Platform Architecture: armv7l-linux

AirPlay bridge 0.4.63.1

I've attached a condensed debug log (if you want the full log then
please tell me and I'll upload it). Hopefully that can give you some
clues why it doesn't always work for me.

react to the buttons (play, next ..) on the Yamaha.
I must open LMS in a browser and hit the play button to start the music.

Hi

Excelent pluggin!!
Thanks to team that make this possible!!

After several test I can solve some problems with files different than
the cd 16/44 format. 
These file, 24/96 for example, some times only where play it as. White
noise in endpoint (Sonos speakers, marantz receiver) the strange things
was not always, some time is play well than other not, without any
change in settings of LMS or the network. 
A couple of day ago I start to play with bridge settings (audio
parameters/codecs) leaving just on codec active an found that only flac
and PCM works well with all my file type and airplay player, all the
others fail in some formats or player. 

I am not sure how these settings was filling when the pluggin is
installed.

It is not only after I power off the speaker, but also after I restart
LMS. Is there a possibility the make the new name for my Sonos Device
permanent?
