I made a change to support proper multi-value splitting, but this uses a
regex feature (from 2018) that iOS still does not support. I added a
work-around for this, so that Material still works. However, it appears
that this work-around gets broken by the minification process that is
applied to release builds. I'm working on fixing this. For now, if on
iOS *do not* update to 2.2.0

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] 'MediaServer' *certified* Alexa skill for LMS

2021-01-30 Thread chill

I've improved the ngrok_installer script a bit. As well as a bit of
tidying up and clarifying, it now has the option to override the 32-bit
or 64-bit auto-detection, primarily in case the auto-detection fails
because of the rather weak, non-future-proof, detection rule.

I tried the 32-bit version on a 64-bit pCP ('-v 32' argument), and ngrok
seemed to work ok.
I tried the 64-bit version on a 32-bit pCP ('-v 64' argument), and the
extension loaded, but ngrok failed to run, obviously.

For now, auto-detection is the way to go, but in future, if pCP reports
something other than 'v8' for the 64-bit version, use the override: -v
64.

I've reverted to the classic skin for now. Disabling the material plugin

Thanks for your reply.

It would easily be possible the test another LMS release. But I'm not
sure which one to choose:

In Mr. Floppys signature he reports his (old) version to be
8.0.0-1584980764 (by first occurance of the problem he and hasn't
changed the signature later).
In his problem solving reply he refers to "Pinkdots version 24". I've no
clue which version this could be. All of Pinkdots releases can still be
found on https://sourceforge.net/projects/lmsupdate , but I can't
identify any of them as "version 24" ...

2.2.0 is broken on iOS/macOS - as I mentioned earlier. This is due to
WebKit lagging behind and not supporting a regex feature from 2018!
2.2.1 has a work-around for this, or rather fixes the work-around that
minimising broke in 2.2.0 I plan to release 2.2.1 later today, was just
waiting to see if any other changes were required first.

expectingtofly kindly submitted a pull request where a plugin can name
its icons in such a way as that Material will automatically convert to a
Material icon. e.g. Blah_MTL_icon_search.png will get converted to
'search' by Material. In this way, Material does not need to be modified
for each plugin. But, it requires the plugin to name its icons in this
manner. I assume a future release of BBC Sounds will be updated for
this.

Not in material itself, but I guess it could be added to the APK. The
only issue I can see is that Material has no 'media session' (as it
doesn't play anything), therefore the controls might not be available.

Thanks. I tried the KidsPlay, but didn't get it to work. I'm not sure I
have a "JVC" remote control. I guess not? I have a normal classic

I tried mapping the "JVC - Add Button" to "ratingslight setrating
track_id:{CURRENT_TRACK_ID} rating:1 incremental:+; show "line2:->
Rating: +1 star" duration:1 centered:1;". That doesn't do anything, the
(+) button on the remote still does it's original thing. I guess that
(+) button isn't the "JVC - Add Button".

Next step: git clone :-)

OK, after git clone and some hacking I now think the following:

A plugin can add "functions", such as "incrementrating", which can be
mapped to buttons (any button, IR or device, I think) in the IR .map
file

This can then trigger actual functions (Perl), which can do whatever
they want (e.g. increment the rating).

Looks promising (for my use case).

@chill, I got pCP working pretty easily and the ngrok installer script
downloaded the correct version of ngrok. Yaay! It also survived a reboot
so the tcz stuff seems to have worked too. As I have a free ngrok
account, starting ngrok on the pi gave me a warning that I'm only
allowed to run it one one machine simultaneously, which was expected (as
it's also running on my NUC). If I kill it on the NUC then it runs on
the pi.

Dumb question: how do you set the ngrok_startup.sh script to run when

Hi I have installed dietpi on rpi3b as a lightweight lms server, no
samba just lms and ffmpeg. Ethernet connection only.

It’s working very well but I want to shut down and restart over wol.
Currently I poweroff using putty. I can’t get access to the rpi3b until
it has had been unplugged and plugged in.

Is squeezelite installed as part of the 8.1 version of lms?

You can integrate with Dynamic Playlist plugin directly which means that
you need to provide two methods, see here for more info:
https://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Dynamic_Playlist_plugin#Dynamic_playlists_as_separate_plugins
This is how SQL Playlist plugin integrates with Dynamic Playlist and it
works without SQL playlist plugin being installed. Your plugin will be
called by Dynamic Playlist when it needs more tracks and it’s up to your
plugin to return the tracks that should be added.

Alternatively you can (as you have noticed) integrate with SQL Playlist
plugin, more information about this are available here:
https://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/SQL_Playlist_plugin#Playlist_types_as_separate_plugins
This is how TrackStat integrates to provide statistics related
playlists. You will just provide a template and the rest will be handled
by SQL Playlist plugin. Advantage is mainly if you like the user to be
able to customize the playlist without you having to provide the code
for it.

Perhaps the mistaken update of repo XML to 2.2.1 before has broken
things for you, if so sorry. I've just manually install 2.2.0, restarted
LMS, and was offered 2.2.1 to install - which installed just fine.
Perhaps uninstall Material and re-install?

Good timing because I'm just about to try setting up pCP from scratch on
a pi 3B, having never done it before :cool:

I started working on a shell script to install ngrok and configure
autoupdate using systemd on 'heavier' machines. It's WIP but here's the
part where I handle the platform specifics:

Code:

  #!/bin/sh

  # helper function
  lowercase(){
echo "$1" | sed
"y/ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ/abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz/"
  }

  # determine ngrok version needed for this machine
  OS=`lowercase \`uname\``
  MACH=`uname -m`

  if [[ "${OS}" =~ ^windows ]]; then
OS=windows
fname="ngrok.exe"
  elif [[ "${OS}" =~ ^darwin ]]; then
OS=darwin
fname="ngrok"
  elif [[ "${OS}" =~ ^linux ]]; then
OS=linux
fname="ngrok"
  fi

  CDN="https://bin.equinox.io/c/4VmDzA7iaHb/;

  declare -A endpoint
  endpoint[darwin_x86_64]="${CDN}ngrok-stable-darwin-amd64.zip"
  endpoint[darwin_i386]="${CDN}ngrok-stable-darwin-386.zip"
  endpoint[windows_x86_64]="${CDN}ngrok-stable-windows-amd64.zip"
  endpoint[windows_i386]="${CDN}ngrok-stable-windows-386.zip"
  endpoint[linux_x86_64_arm]="${CDN}ngrok-stable-linux-arm64.zip"
  endpoint[linux_i386_arm]="${CDN}ngrok-stable-linux-arm.zip"
  endpoint[linux_armv6l]="${CDN}ngrok-stable-linux-arm.zip"
  endpoint[linux_armv7l]="${CDN}ngrok-stable-linux-arm.zip"
  endpoint[linux_i386]="${CDN}ngrok-stable-linux-386.zip"
  endpoint[linux_x86_64]="${CDN}ngrok-stable-linux-amd64.zip"
  endpoint[freebsd_x86_64]="${CDN}ngrok-stable-freebsd-amd64.zip"
  endpoint[freebsd_i386]="${CDN}ngrok-stable-freebsd-386.zip"
  endpoint[cygwin_x86_64]="${CDN}ngrok-stable-windows-amd64.zip"

  machine="${OS}_${MACH}"
  if [ ${endpoint[$machine]+_} ]; then
echo -e "Fetching ngrok for ${machine} from ${endpoint[$machine]}\n";
  else
echo -e "Unsupported platform ${machine}. Please install and configure
ngrok manually\n"; exit 1;
  fi

  wget ${endpoint[$machine]} -O ngrok.zip
  unzip -o -d ~/ $fname

As you can see, I use unzip on all platforms rather than your mix of
tgz/zip depending on 32/64 bits. Is that actually necessary with pCP or
could unzip also handle both installs? If so, the script would be
simpler.

I've conjured up a file that contains plenty of errors, and have
attached it. It is a plain '.aac' file, which I have constructed by
downloading 40 seconds or so from a remote stream, and specifying that
icy metadata should be included. So it is reasonably full of "duff
data".

I play that file by dropping it into my music folder, and browsing for
it in the Squeezeplay BMF menu.

Findings:

On the standard Radio firmware we appear to have solid playback.
Surprisingly, only one 'sync error' is reported, although I expected to
see many more. I don't know why we don't.

On the Community version we get, as expected, a reboot.

So, I don't know that this particular "stream with duff data" is
necessarily a good sample for robustness testing, but it might be
educational to see how your revised decoder fares with it.

I've attached logs.

Thanks for that - some more syntax for me to learn from! Feel free to
work your own magic on the scripts - you clearly know what you're doing
far more than I do!

Yeah, the BusyBox version of unzip doesn't like tgz files, and the
BusyBox version of tar doesn't like zip files :(

Code:

tc@pCP:~$ unzip -o ngrok-stable-linux-arm64.tgz
  Archive:  ngrok-stable-linux-arm64.tgz
  unzip: short read

  tc@pCP:~$ tar -x -f ngrok-stable-linux-arm.zip
  tar: invalid tar magic

So unless someone can suggest a built-in utility that can cope with both
I think we're stuck with having to use both of those utilities. We
could probably get a more complete unzip utility from the repository,
but again that's an extra complication.

The installer isn't connected to the startup script - I think the
mechanism for that is still TBD. If the startup script was hosted, say,
on your site, then the installer script could fetch it.

To make it run at boot, use the the pCP web interface - go to the
'Tweaks' tab and scroll to the bottom. You can add up to three 'User
commands'. They're executed in order. I have the startup script in
there with the command argument of 10 (to give a 10s wait during boot).
As a general point, note that commands called from 'User commands' are
executed by the 'root' user. You need to keep this in mind if your
scripts assume anything in the default user's path, and if your script
creates output, since it will be owned by 'root'.

No, that won't work without a JVC remote.

I think I might have managed to add IR remote support to -Ratings Light-
but there will be no (UI) settings.

0.hold = unrate (0 stars)
1.hold = 1 star
...
5.hold = 5 stars
8.hold = subtract 0.5 stars from current rating
9.hold = add 0.5 stars to current rating

single key press = normal behaviour

I still need to work a little on it but I think I'll push the changes to
the git repo later today or tomorrow.
But before releasing it I would rather have someone with a real
Slimdevices/Logitech remote do some beta testing.
So if you're up for it...

*@Erland*:
- I think RL should work with LMS <7.9. As far as I can tell it's just
the Virtual Library stuff that requires 7.9+. And the VL and the menus
based on it are disabled by default in RL. So does that work for you on
LMS 7.8?

- Is there an easy way to make DynamicPlaylist pick up SQL Playlists
(not templates) bundled with my plugin (like CustomSkip picks up
CustomFilters from other plugins)? I only found code referring to
templates in Trackstat. Seemed overkill for the task I have in mind.

- One thing that's bugging me a bit is that when I rate a song on my
Boom or somewhere else the Boom (Music Information Screen using the RL
titleformat) doesn't display the changed rating unless I do something
that causes an information pull from LMS (pause/resume or restart the
track). Anything I can do on the plugin side like push the changed
rating to the client? I'm not very optimistic because my understanding
is that this depends on how and when the client asks LMS and the plugins
for information (subscribe...) but I thought I'd ask.

The illusion in complete - I'm quite the noob with shell scripting and
was quite impressed with your code :D

You are actually right about the tgz. I just took a look at the source
of ngrok.com and the taregt for Linux ARM 64-bit is indeed a tgz file.
Well spotted !

...and... while a genuine solution would be nice to have, I am perfectly
happy to have finally realized that a workaround has been staring me in
the face all this time. As an old and ungrammatical saying puts it, if
it was a snake it woulda bit me.

I already had a cron job running at startup that runs a script that
waits 45 seconds before starting squeezelite, among other things. I've
added a command to restart LMS 60 seconds later. So far everything seems
to be working the way I want it to.

Thanks again for all the help, Ronnie and Philippe!

Had a quick look, and it does appear as if android will only send the

you'd be better off asking in the SB Player thread for it to be

Thanks, Ronnie. I was still missing a few of those and wouldn't have
known about them otherwise. I really should have known about libmad0,
though. The AirPlay bridge user guide is clear about that. I just
overlooked that part and assumed that since Lame was installed, mp3
files should play. With these additions installed, the bridge seems to
be working with the normal binary now, but my testing is very limited so
far. (It's still early for me.)

For my original question, after examining the raspi-config script, I can
confirm that wait for network on boot is enabled. The file
/etc/systemd/system/dhcpcd.service.d/wait.conf exists and contains what
it should. I can only guess that either it's being ignored or more delay
is needed. On boot, the bridge log contains:

Code:

Start:1305 Binding to 127.0.0.1

It doesn't bind to the Pi's external IP until I restart it.

And the server log reports:

Code:

Slim::Utils::IPDetect::_init (138) Warning: Couldn't call connect() -
falling back to 127.0.0.1

I will certainly provide detailed logs, but I suspect I need to enable
some additional options first.

Philippe will have the definitive answer but my guess is that there is
no DLNA/UPnP-AV command to turn off (or maybe even turn on) a renderer.
I suspect that the device turns on because it is being given something
to do ... and it turns off after a configurable (in some renderers)
amount of idle time.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: UPnPBridge = integrate UPnP/DLNA players with LMS (squeeze2upnp)

2021-01-30 Thread brewie

I have the following Config:
Raspi 4B + Touchscreen running LMS 8.1.1 with Picoreplayer 7.0 and
Jivelite. My Pioneer Receiver is connected via UpnP Bridge as a music
renderer. When playing music it says "DMR". I only use wifi to play
music from Spotty, Tunein and Synology NAS. So no Network cable to the
Raspi.
When I turn the picoreplayer on via the touchscreen power button and
select some music to play, it automatically turns on the Pioneer
receiver. So far so good.
What does NOT work is the power off. I can use the Power button on the
touchscreen again and the screen turns off but the pioneer receiver is
still on..
My Question: is there something I can do to also turn the Receiver off?
If I understand it right than the Receiver is the DMR (Digital Media
Renderer) and Logitech Media Server is the DMS (Digital Media Server) in
this DLNA setup. Is the UpnP Bridge plugin the DMC (Digital Media
Controller)?
Somehow the power off command from the player does not imply the DMR
power off..

You might have changed in to 48K in an attempt to get WASAPI to work.
Btw, the switch "-u E" helps make WASAPI work. However, I personally
see no advantage to selecting a WASAPI device in SLX/squeezelite. I

Feature release, main changes:

- Add support for listing 'band' under certain genres, and in the
  queue.
- If a the 'default' player re-appears in LMS's players list, then
  switch to this player.
- Add server-side settings to control whether composer, conductor,
  and band tags are shown in queue and now-playing.
- Clicking anywhere in 'Music sources' subtoolbar will open search
  field.
- Add items from an artist's or album's context menu to the 'More'
  menu shown in the subtoolbar.
- Always send +/- volume-step when up/down volume button pressed.
- Add server-side setting to control whether 'Fixed volume', and
  disabled slider, is used for fixed volume players.
- Remove 'Fixed volume' label, disable slider and hide value for
  fixed volume players.
- When pinning a 'My Music' item prompt user if we should store the
  library_id with this.
- Add option to control whether all artists, album-artists,
  composers, etc. are show when browsing albums, and (requires LMS 8.2)
  in now-playing and queue.
- Respect LMS's 'Filter Genres at the Album & Track Level.' setting
  when using 'Append random album to queue' from a genre.
- Press-and-hold volume buttons to incrementally change volume.
- In desktop layout, click volume label to toggle mute.
- Embolden font, and use highlight colour for background, of current
  player in player's menu, and 'Manage players' dialog.
- Drag'n'drop from queue onto playlist.
- Add option to replace player's icon in toolbar with a power
  button.
- Add generic Material icon mapping support - thanks to
  expectingtofly.

Sorry to report tray icon color is still teal when returning from
disconnect. FWIW it changes back to blue after the popup of the track
notification info slides away (but does not change for me if track
notification not enabled). Really just reporting, I don't think it is
worth your time to work on this further. Blue, teal, whatever.

Can I just say how much I love (love, love) the hover-over display of
track/album/artist?  So so so great.

Thanks again,

Tom

Ok, just pushed the latest version to the 'usual *git* repo'
(https://github.com/AF-1/lms-ratingslight).
I've added -arrow_up-.hold (add 1 star to current rating) and the
-arrow_down-.hold (substract 1 star from current rating) which will
allow users to change track ratings with the Boom's mini remote.
The settings page has an option to disable remote button rating (could
you test this too? Changes probably require a LMS restart to take
effect) and mousing over the info button reveals the key map.

So if you could test the remote button rating with a real device (maybe
even on different devices) and watch your log for error or warning
messages, that would be great. Also, could you take a look at the
default LMS web UI. When you click on a title in the playlist it should
bring up the track's context menu. I've reworked the rating stars and
I'd be interested if the star characters are displayed correctly on your
OS.
Thank you.

Good to hear that you're becoming a fan :)

Are you referring to remote login via ssh? That's perfectly doable - I
have it working so that my backup pCP fetches files from a couple of
other pCP devices via rsync over ssh.

1) From the machine you're logging in -from-, use ssh-keygen to generate
the public/private rsa key pair in /home/tc/.ssh/id_rsa. The passphrase
can be blank.
2) If that's the only machine you're going to login from, copy that
id_rsa file over to the machine you're logging in -to-, with the
destination name /home/tc/.ssh/authorized_keys
3) If you're going to login from other machines, add the contents of
their id_rsa files to that authorized_keys file.
4) Login once from the -from- machine, so that it is added to the
known_hosts file.

Thereafter, logging in via ssh should not require a password or any user
input.

Hi

I seem to have royally screwed my SLX local player. I think it's because
I changed some of the squeezelite parameters tying to get wasapi
exclusive mode to work but now the local player just will not respond to
Play at all, even if the output is set to Default (there are two
Defaults mysteriously) or "Primary Sound Driver [Windows DirectSound]".
Other players are fine.
I thought Control D enabled a debug mode but that no longer seems to
work.

My squeezelite settings are:
-n PC-Focals
-s PCP-XLR-LMS
-C 60
-o "Primary Sound Driver [Windows DirectSound]"

Is there a way of resetting it?

Looking at my code I can see that I after changing a rating makes a call
to:

Code:

  Slim::Music::Info::clearFormatDisplayCache();

I also use $client->showBriefly in a number of places if I think the
user would like to get feedback on the device display that the operation
succeeded. Don’t remember I any of these things might be related to the
problem you are seeing, suspect I had the same issue before I added the
call to clearFormatDisplayCache but I might remember wrong (it’s more
than 10 years ago). Ask a question about it in the Developers section if
you don’t get it to work and mherger can probably answer it quickly.

*Crtl-Shift-D* to see debug options. There you will see a reset option
(though uninstalling and reinstalling should do the same thing). You
can also turn on file logging and enable more verbose debug logging.

Two Defaults in output device list? That is weird. One of those is
explicitly put there by SLX. Everything else in the list comes from
calling a library to enumerate actual output devices. This sounds like
a bug somehow, as everything from the libraray call would include [...]
in it.

There is nothing wrong with your squeezelite parameters, so we'll need
more info to figure out what happened.

squeezelite is not a part of the LMS server software, though there is
nothing preventing one from installing squeezelite on the server. I'm
not familiar with dietpi. For my R-Pi servers I use Max2Play, which
includes Linux and a web interface for installing LMS and other things.
That interface also provides an ability to restart the server and power
it off.

I'm not sure you can start a pi with WOL. Someone else can chime in if
they know more. I looked into that once and determined it was not
possible, but I don't remember how I determined that.

Not really keen on yet another config item - and won't add for 2.2.x (as
I try not to add new string for a patch release). Personally I have no
preference, and would agree with you - as I'd see "Song A by artist B,
composed by C, conducted by D" But, then the default skin has composer

You're the best. Thanks!

(Yeah, the composer first in the default UI's Now Playing always
bothered me -- but I always had the queue in view, and could customize
things there. With Material, I tend to prefer the mobile layout even on
my desktop, so I don't see the queue unless I switch to it.)
