[qmailtoaster] Error in vqadmin
I get an error in vqadmin when trying tio make a user a do,main admin. Error is: Attention! This error was detected: Please tupe a valid EMAIL ADDRESS. The account I'm trying to make a valid email account is my own which is ed@mydomain.com. Anyone have an idea on how what the [problem is? Hi, I'm getting this error in my logs of spamd. error: auto-whitelist: cannot open auto_whitelist_path /home/vpopmail/.spamassassin/auto-whitelist: Inappropriate ioctl for device warn: auto-whitelist: open of auto-whitelist file failed: auto-whitelist: cannot open auto_whitelist_path /home/vpopmail/.spamassassin/auto-whitelist: Inappropriate ioctl for device error: Can't call method "finish" on an undefined value at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.5/Mail/SpamAssassin/Plugin/AWL.pm line 397, GEN25 line 147. So it seems that the awl feature is not able to store data in it's bdb # file /home/vpopmail/.spamassassin/auto-whitelist /home/vpopmail/.spamassassin/auto-whitelist: Berkeley DB (Hash, version 8, native byte-order) Can it be that CentOs 4.2 is using an incompatible version of bdb? Additionaly, I don't like that qmailtoaster uses rblsmtpd to drop all mail that is marked by sbl.spamhaus.org. I'd much prefer to leave this up to spamassassin that can do multiple blocklists, learn from them etc etc. The real problem here seems to be that to qmail-smtpd and spamd all the mail appears to com from localhost. I assume this is because of rblsmtpd. How do I best turn of this feature on my toaster so that it stays of if i upgrade. Or is that not possible ? Regards, Marius Karthaus

I'm assuming you moved your auto-whitelist file to /home/.vpopmail/.spamassassin in your config file. OK, I will have to admit that I am not the most experienced Linux user who's ever joined the list... I managed to work out that I could use the scripts provided by the gurus on the list to do the work. I managed to download the packages with 'current-download-script.sh' (after having already downloaded them manually) :-) so thought I would try and run the mysql-setup.sh script too. I first ran the fdr40-deps.sh script and this deleted three evolution packages and then reported 'Nothing To Do'. ( I am loading on Fedora Core 4 installed graphically from the downloaded dvd iso with the 'everything' option box ticked and have updated packages with 'yum update'.) When I ran the mysql-setup.sh script (from a terminal window as root in the same directory as the script with 'sh mysql-setup.sh' ) I got a series of messages saying: mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed error: Can't connect to local Mysql server through socket 'var/lib/mysql.sock' (2) Check that mysqld is running and that the socket:'var/lib/mysql.sock' exist! I'd be grateful for any advice on this please. Before running the script I edited the password in the file to be my own chosen password, saved the file and re-opend it to check that I had changed it correctly. Managed to run the mysql-setup.sh script after starting mysqld with service mysqld start but suspect I will have to configure this to start automatically? Edited the system identifier for Fedora Core 4, the architecture and the build directory into the current-install-script.sh and ran the script in a terminal window preceded by sh. It started running and ran for about 5 mins but then failed with a series of errors: latest to earlier they go: error: file not found by glob: /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386/simscan-toaster*.rpm error: failed build dependencies: qmail-toaster =1.03-1.2.4 is needed by simscan-toaster-1.1-1.2.6.i386 Preceded by several warnings that groups/users do not exist - using root. (groups/users are qmail/qmaill) I had put the packages, previously download, in /usr/src and was runing the script from there. (Should they have been somwhere else?) It probably isn't. If it's not: /sbin/service mysqld start And it should fire up. You should be able to change what service load at boot time by using 'ntsysv' if I remember right. You can also set mysql to start automatically by: /sbin/chkconfig mysqld on BTW, If I can get past this one, is there a script I can run to install the whole system on Fedora core 4? Are there any bits I need to edit? There sure is. You can use the install script set up by Nick and Erik, located at http://ww.qmailtoaster.com/info/current-install-script.sh to install everything for you. You'll need to edit the top of the file, and change DISTRO=cnt40 to fdr40 for your case. If you read the document CentOS 4 qmailtoaster the easy way or the QmailToaster Mail Server the VERY easy way file, almost everything will be the same for your case. Just skip over the steps you've already performed, and use fdr40 instead of the cnt40 switch for the packages. [qmailtoaster] Error Loading Spam Rules
Hi All, I am currently in the process of learning and configuring qmail toaster on a new server. When looking at the smtp log fromanother serverevery message sent to pobox (running new qmail toaster) generates an 'Error loading smap rules for [EMAIL PROTECTED]'as part of the smtp handshake. The message is received and the email is still accepted by pobox. Whats happening and how do I stop it ? Could it be caused by spam assassin not being configured properlyor not having any default rules set? If you send to more than 15 people at a time, you will get this error message. Hi Cleber, It appears that you are missing some development tools in you distro install. wget http://www.qmailtoaster.com/qtms/qtms-deps.sh Edit: rpm --import /usr/share/doc/centos-release-4/RPM* to point to the fedora keys and run the script. Do: rpm -e `rpm -qa | grep toaster | sort` Reboot Starts the install again. Let me know how it goes. Did you compile qmail-admin rpm it to install?? can you access to http://yourdomain.com/qmailadmin ?? hi all when my users try to change their password thru the webmail file attached help.jpg show us the main link acessed when we try to change sending our old password we got this error Not Found The requested URL /cgi-bin/qmailadmin was not found on this server.
