Re: [QUAD-L] I got an ipad
If you're already using a computer all day, I don't really think it is an advantage. My understanding is it's the mobility of the device that makes it appealing. The reason I am probably going to be buying a Kindel shortly is because I can read at my desk and later when I get my laptray I might be able to read when I go to an appointment or in waiting on someone. Re: [QUAD-L] I got an ipad Kindle
Thank you so much Billy. Right now I'm reading some books I have in my office, using some book stands I had built, but I'm definitely leaning towards buying the Kindle very shortly. What I need to figure out is how I can get a lap tray that will enable me to turn the pages on the Kindle using a mouthstick. I do have several small portable book holder's printer in before I had these new book stands built. I don't know if the new work version addressed this problem but I find that the next page button is very sensitive and sometimes I skip one or two pages. There's a previous page button to navigate back. This is a minor drawback. I highly recommend getting a Kindle. Even if you don't buy books from Amazon there are plenty of free e-books available all over the web. Kindle has a program which allows you to read Kindle books on your computer. Oh, one other thing the pages of the books on the Kindle do not correspond with the pages in a book. They use location numbers as reference points.. I recommend using bookmarks to save locations within the books you're reading, even though the Kindle will open the book you are reading to the last page read. *From:* Quadius [mailto:quad...@gmail.com] *Sent:* Tuesday, September 14, 2010 8:19 PM *To:* quad-list *Subject:* Re: [QUAD-L] I got an ipad if anyone gets a chance, I would appreciate if you could take an old-fashioned pencil with an array is her and see if the pages can be manipulated with the pencil eraser. The following from a Senate race in Kentucky: I think a lot of things could be handled locally, Paul, a Republican, said in an interview on NPR's All Things Considered in May. I think if you have a two-story office and you hire someone who's handicapped, it might be reasonable to let him have an office on the first floor rather than the government saying you have to have a $100,000 elevator. And I think when you get to the solutions like that, the more local the better, and the more common sense the decisions are, rather than having a federal government make those decisions. How can people get away with saying such blatant lies? Do these people have no shame? Dan
