Did you install the software in the appVM as you stated or did you install in the template VM the appVM was based on? For most installed software, it needs to be installed in the Template VM for it to be there after the appVM is bounced. Installing in the appVM causes the install to be lost on the next reboot of that appVM since it gets its installed software from the Template. I usually clone the distro templates and install my stuff there and then create appVMs with my copies. sudo qubes-dom0-update kernel-latest-qubes-vm, did not find any package, by
running sudo qubes-dom0-update -v I found out something was pointing to some
non existing URL.

After some research I did some changes in /etc/yum.repos.d/qubes-dom0.repo, I
replaced all the $releasever by 4.0, I got an important amount of updates after
this and I was finally able to user kernel 4.20.3-1 in my VMs.
Unfortunately this still didn't solve my wifi adapter problem. When I now
assign the wifi adapter to a vm with the qvm-usb attach command, it appears
briefly in the lsusb results of the vm, but then just disappears.

Thank you. The error message has told me that there was an attempt to kill the error process. I was not sure about the reason, but I have guessed that it is caused by low RAM (I had 400MiB, which is probably the default for some reason). Increasing the RAM has helped. Well, it had caused an issue with blank screen, since the console was redirected to hvc0, but booting with more RAM and without console=hvc0 has succeeded. So, my issue is resolved, thank you for the assistance. I wonder how was chosen the default RAM for HVMs. I believe that 400MiB is rarely enough nowadays. Jcarter: I just got my P52, and when I try and install qubes, there doesn't seem to be an efi entry. I tried to boot into a live drive and add it in via efibootmgr, but it keeps looping back to the lenovo boot menu. Hi, So basically: docker run -it --network=bridge ubuntu No internet... docker run -it network=host ubuntu Internet! (apt-get update works) Bridged mode works on my laptop but not on Qubes with the same version of docker. (18.09.1 from docker.io package) I'm new to docker so if I have any misconceptions then please forgive me. I also read this: https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/network-bridge-support/ and am not sure if it is relevant to the situation and if so how I can get it working with that. Assuming you are running it in an AppVM, I'm not sure you can bridge Xen's virtual NIC like that. I've already tried to install from USB and CD, tried to change BIOS settings, maybe there are some problems with them. I'm asking for your help. Please find attached BIOS images while loading from USB. Can you try installing in legacy mode instead of UEFI?
