Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] My clock stopped working! How do I get it back?
This happens to me on piCorePlayer if I experience a power outage and piCorePlayer reboots before my router, thereby piCorePlayer cannot connect for the time and sets it to initial epoch time (i.e. 00:00:00 UTC on 1 January 1970) Rebooting the ipCorePlayer (through the WebUI, and after shutting down LMS) solved it for me. Go with the WiFi to Ethernet dongle. Vonets working for me for over a year now. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Work-around for SqueezeBoxRadio wifi drop-out
Simple, thanks for this. wlanpoke is effective, and has a lot of logging to help in investigation of the problem to assist in a true fix, but unfortunately, a true fix, as you noted, requires an updated wireless driver (not going to happen), or a new-user created one (don't see that happening either). Never took the time to really understand the script in wlanpoke, but yours is short enough for me to comprehend (thanks). Now that wlanpoke is working for me (needed to use the -x switch for me), i'm going to give your workaround a try. The problem, for me, is interference from a neighbors WiFi and the WiFi chip in the SB Radio. No issues with my SB Touch (different WiFi. chip), and no prob with the SB Radio at a different location (vac home). Chip cant be changed, so the only fix is to use the Ethernet Port of the Radio, or a WiFi to Ethernet dongle (i.e. Vonets) Tony SBTouch SBRadio Tony T's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=34544 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114775 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Thanks for your work on wlanpoke. I suspect that the wireless issue will not be able to be satisfactory resolved as I think it is an issue with the old chip and not a software issue, so an Ethernet connection (with or without the dongle) or wlanpoke will be solution to the problem. After years of no issues, all 4 of my radios (but not my Touch) kept dropping WiFi, and only a re-boot temporary re-established the connection. I tried a different Meah router and an ASUS router (which I liked, so it replaced my Google WiFi) Nothing worked. Im certain that in my case its interference from a neighbors WiFo combined with the old WiFi card in the Radio. A WiFi to Ethernet adaptor was my solution. I had what looks like the same issue as you. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] Squeezebox Radio keeps losing wireless connection and won't reconnect - any ideas?
Set up a VAP11G-300 yesterday, and connection maintained on SB Radio via ethernet for over 12 hrs, so I'll call this a success. I'll get more VAP11G-300 for my other Radios, and hopefully there's not an issue with multiple VAP11G-300 (Wish I could get the SB Radio wireless working though) Things of note: Setup of VAP11G-300 is simple, but instructions could be better. No need for a 'hotspot', so disable on the VAP11G-300. Lights are BRIGHT. Can't just tape over, as it will block the vents, and anyway, the lights still bleed through the case Need to pop open the VAP11G-300 case (easy, it's just press fit), and place a small bit of electric tape over the LED's on the VAP11G-300 board. After years of no problems, last week my 4 SB Radios keep disconnecting from my network. I also have a SB Touch, and that never gets dropped from my Network. Im using Google WiFi, and thought that their recent s/w update was the problem, but tried an eero and same problem. I had my LMS on a Mac-mini, and thought that may be the problem. Ive been wanting to move to a pCP, so did, same problem Only a re-boot reconnects. Interference from neighbors, as suggested here might be the problem. Another thought . Since pCP can be configured as a WAP, and has channel selection, is this a possible fix, or would the fact that the pCP would still be connected to the Google WiFi still cause issues. I dont mind trying a new router, but which one? Everything working great (garym, thanks for the help). When the time comes for an update to piCorePlayer, will my settings be preserved? I would think that if I burn a new image of pCP to the micro SD that I would lose my LMS settings. Or does the image get burned to a partition different than the pCP partition? Wish I could figure out what the problem is. I have no issue with other streaming channels (i.e. Radio Paradise), and no issues with my other Touch on LMS. Hi, My SB Radio will no longer turn on. If I HOLD the power button, after about 30 seconds I get the Logitech welcome screen and sometimes the Free Your Music screen (but no further), but as soon as I let go of the power button, it goes off. Tried removing the battery, using just the AC, reinstalling the battery. Is there anything that I can try (i.e. some secret button to hold to get into a diagnostics mode). [SlimDevices: Radio] Software Update
When the SB Radio has the latest version installed and re-install is selected, shouldn't the files be overwritten? I made a change to one of the .lua files, but re-installing did not overwrite it. I then deleted the lua file, and re-installing did not recreate the file.
