Re: [RBW] Re: Huge Rosco Mixte

2019-10-08 Thread Amit Singh
Just a quick update for everyone.

I mounted an Ursus Jumbo Double Leg Kickstand on the Mixte and so far it
works extremely well.

I've also ordered the Hamax Caress Rear Child Bike Seat (for rack), which
arrives tomorrow, and am looking forward to it. The only bummer is that he
isn't as close to me as I would like... it's so nice when we are right up
in the cockpit viewing the world together.

+++

The reason I went with the Hamax Caress Rear Child Bike Seat is because:

1) It is more traditional looking -- I think traffic respects people with
child seats and want to provide the most well-known example to drivers.

2) In the event of a fall, it provides more coverage - protecting precious
cargo. The Yepp Minis look as though the passenger is more vulnerable.

3) It was amongst the most highly rated; and one reputable website with
experienced real-world riders placed it above the Yepp.

+++

Are there other logistics I should be aware of? Do I need to get a pool
noodle and secure it to the bike seat to ensure cars give me 3 feet?

Also, thank you all for the generous offers to send me stuff and also for
the wonderful guidance.

As the little one matures, I am looking forward to going on more adventures
together. So far, he loves riding with me on the bicycle. I think it's his
favorite thing to do :)

Amit

About to put a rear kid’s bike seat on mine.

Do you suggest frame mounted or rack mounted?

Also, what kind of kickstand is the most weight bearing and most stable to load
/ unload?

There will be precious cargo aboard and I want to avoid any mishaps.

Thanks in advance for your guidance!

- Books! I miss the book selection that was at Bike Book and Hatchet. I'd
love to somehow see this brought back. The Riv Monthly Book Club? Once a
month, a book from Riv is delivered to us along with a written thing on who
selected the book and why they like it, and why we should read it. Would be
fantastic. I'd gladly sign up now for this.
- Pakistani Goat Skin Padded Riding Gloves - (whoa they have them back now.
yay!)
- El Duke's Degreaser (seems perpetually sold out)
- Grey Grid line of bags. Specifically, the Large Grey Grid Bag (if anyone
has one they'd like to sell, please message me off list!)
- Wooly Warm Socks
- The super excellent merino wool shirts that would fit tall and have thumb
holes. Best second layer riding shirt ever. I let a shivering person on a
brevet borrow mine and they enjoyed it so much that they refused to return
it :(
- Chambray shirts
- Seersucker shirts
- 70's African Funk Instructional or Fun Videos (compliments of Jay Ritchey)

Dan first moved to California and sold his car 3 years back - so he's been a
full time bicycle commuter and loves to ride in general. He currently rides an
aluminum frame "Motobecane" that's too big for him, a hand-me-down that was
originally purchased on BikesDirect.com. He loves his bicycle dearly, despite
problems with everything ranging from brakes, crankset, headset, handlebars,
brakes and shifters, etc. We did a complete overhaul and replaced everything on
his bike 6 months ago.

A few days ago I saw the message re: Bleriot for Sale posted by Eric Norris. I
contacted Eric on behalf of Dan and asked him if the bicycle was still
available, worked out pricing and pitched the idea to Dan, who was all for it.

Dan and I drove to Eric's house yesterday to check out the Bleriot. It was the
first time Dan had ridden a quality bicycle. He pushed off, rode a while and
returned with a smile on his face like he wasn't sure what just happened - was
he supposed to feel this good on a bicycle? Was this too good to be true?
Should he even be smiling or take this moment for reflection and be serious? It
was awkward. And joyous to behold.

While Dan was riding this bicycle it looked like the bike and him were made for
each other - it was BANG ON PERFECT. Wow. We made a few quick adjustments to
the saddle and handlebar height, took a tour of Eric's incredible bicycle
collection (phew, maybe the nicest bicycles I've ever seen in one place!),
settled on payment and drove back. I was going to drop Dan off to his apartment
but he asked if we could go back to my house so he could ride home. I obliged,
gladly.

After a few fender adjustments, reinflating the rear tire and a quick seat post
adjustment he was on his way.

Dan's text messages to me over the last 12 hours are:

"Amazing#!!!:%/6/=%/" "So fast. So smooth" "Serious style"

I asked him if he was going to sleep with his bicycle and he told me "That's
None of Your Business!"

Dan rode his bicycle to work this morning, and instead of locking it outside
his building like he normally does the Bleriot is in his cubical with him. He
sent me a picture.

He says this bicycle is a blessing and that he loves it.

Anyway, I just wanted to take a few moments to introduce Dan to the Rivendell
Owners Bunch, congratulate him on his new ride and wish him a lifetime of safe,
happy and amazing adventures riding his new bicycle!

[RBW] Re: [BOB] Re: Tried and liked in 2015, and a request

2015-12-23 Thread Amit Singh
Patrick, I'm sorry if this offends. I'm going to hijack this post and take it
to the veg side. This is a salad that's robust enough to leave you feeling
deeply fulfilled.

Words that come to mind are crunchy, creamy, fresh, tart, nutty, herbaceous,
earthy, umami ... it's got everything covered!

Fattoush (sans bread plus feta, shout out to EBDJ)

Use fresh vegetables and herbs. Chop all to bite-size:

Red Bell Pepper
Green Bell Pepper
English Cucumber
Ripe Tomatoes
Red Onion
Avocado
Parsley, chopped fine
Mint, chopped fine

For the dressing. Put this in a jar and shake it like a polaroid picture:
Garlic, chopped fine
Sumac
Zaatar (amazing lebanese spice, pick up fresh from your local middle-eastern
market)
Red Chilli (for a little spicezing)
Sea Salt
Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
Red Wine Vinegar
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Tahini
Add toasted sesame seeds if there's not enough in the zaatar.

Mix well. Eat immediately or let sit for 30 min - 1 hour for even better
results. Mix again before serving.

Feta Cheese, cut into cubes. Use this as a topping.

This is one of the best meals. We eat this at least twice a week for dinner,
and make enough leftovers for lunch the next day.

We had this for dinner last night and I just ate a plate now. It never
disappoints.

p.s. If you can't source high-quality Sumac or Zaatar email me and I'll find a
way to hook you up.

Hi All,

Quick update on items still available.

First the idea - I’m selling some stuff to help fund a cool idea my wife
and I are doing - paying off layaway items at local stores to help bring
holiday cheer to families -- anonymously. We talk with store managers and
look at the store's open layaway log for items that we can quickly identify
as most likely presents for children (kid’s clothes, books, a bicycle,
toys, diapers, baby food, etc.), select an open layaway between $50 - $500
that look like gifts or necessary items and complete the purchase. Then we
watch the manager call those families to tell them their items have been
paid for and they can pick the items up anytime they’d like. It helps
remind us what the spirit of the season is - selflessly giving to make
other people's lives better. It gives people hope, and in crazy times like
this it’s a great way to demonstrate there are still people who care to do
good in this world.

Now, to the parts that might be of interest to list members. All prices
include standard shipping within the continental U.S. Paypal preferred.

[RBW] Re: Clydesdale's -- Which Riv Model are you riding?

2015-03-26 Thread Amit Singh
I'm currently at 230lbs, 6'6.

I ride a Quickbeam, A. Homer Hilsen, Atlantis and Bombadil.

BombaLove doesn't come alive until either on dirt with some knobbies or
until loaded down with 60lbs of gear. It's such a great bike.

Atlantis is like A. Homer - has that magical Riv ride, feels like I can
ride all day and takes fatties. It's currently set up as a ride around town
errand bike. I love it.

A. Homer is my fast bike, set up with 38mm tires and fenders, I've been
pushing 18-21mph riding next to a racer friend turned randonneur with it.
Comfortable and fast and smooth, especially on descents. When I first rode
it I thought it had 90% the speed of my DeRosa, just way more predictable
and smooth. Amazing bicycle. My first experience with Riv was with the AHH.

Quickbeam. What a sweet ride. I love this thing and sometimes wish for more
gears so I could ride faster. But I am so happy with its simplicity that
well, it's the perfect ride.

I've ridden all of these bicycles at 270/275. I ride the largest frames and
have no problem with any of them.

Sometimes when I ride a lot and get strong and channel my inner columbian
to ride up hills with gusto I can feel A Homer plane. It is a good
feeling and so I push harder. I also took the Atlantis camping, loaded it
up with around 80 pounds of stuff. It felt a little noodly ... which
surprised me at first, but after a few minutes riding I did not mind the
feeling and kept riding.

These bicycles are overbuilt and made with love for the longest of
journeys. Your selections are great. Based on your requirements and your
flexibility issues I think a Cheviot would be perfect for you.

The best thing you can do, however, is pick up the phone and call Riv. The
entire team is wonderful to work with and they will bend over backwards to
make sure that you are happy.

Good luck and let us know which bike you decide to go with. Remember,
pictures prove it happened. So make sure to take some photos and share them!

assume that the wider the tires the better.

[RBW] Re: Anyone doing the EBDJ Wednesday Challenge?

2015-01-22 Thread Amit Singh
I've been getting more into it, still at less than 50 grams of carbs a day but
curbing down by introducing more fat. I crave vegetables so I eat a big ass
Mediterranean salad 4 or 5 times a week. It's delicious.

It's been 2 months and I'm down nearly 20 lbs. Ive been doing a fast 25 minute
circuit at the gym every other morning, cycling, taking the dog for a walk or
playing basketball to work on endurance.

Here are my details from yesterday:

3:45 pm

1 can TJ sardines
.75 avocado w/pink Himalayan salt
1 small chunk triple creme Brie
1 small chunk Gouda
3 slices salami
1/2 pickled cucumber (home made, no sugar)

This was way too much food and I felt uncomfortable.

Then I did a fast 45 mile ride and halfway:

6:30 pm

2 small nuggets of home made pemmican.

Don't feel hungry at all.

5:00 am

1 small cup of coffee with heavy cream.

Just got back from the gym. Feeling good.

[RBW] Anyone doing the EBDJ Wednesday Challenge?

2015-01-21 Thread Amit Singh
I did it yesterday between 1:30 - 6pm. Ate normal during eating hours, no
binging in that time span. Felt normal. Had a big mediterranean salad at
dinner and was so happy.

Today is day 2 and the hunger has me feeling a little ravenous and wobbly.
I can't wait until 1:30 today and am beginning to fantasize about what I
will eat when the clock strikes that magical hour. I have confidence in
knowing this feeling should pass soon so I can get back to work :)

Anyone else doing the Wednesday challenge? How is it going for you?

The only option I've seen so far is the Cross Check SS, Any other

2014-12-24 Thread Amit Singh
Thanks everyone for the great feedback!

Someone awesome on our RBW list contacted me and offered a pair of MSR
snowshoes which I hope to put to good use.

These will be for a backpacking trip I'm taking in January. A friends are
putting together a 3 day backpacking trip where we'll be crossing 3 lakes,
passing through a small mountain range and building 2 igloos. They hope to
climb to the top of the mountain and then snowboard down.

I'll take a camera and hope to capture some good story-images and write an
adventure report. ... I'll think of something Riv oriented so I can post it
to this list. Any ideas?

Wildcat Gorge, specifically.) Heavy clay soil means you won't get far

[RBW] Re: Virtual Entmoot Ride Reports

Hello!

Pictures from part of my experience at the Entmoot here:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/amisingh/sets/72157645286922999/

With all the beautiful scenery, bicycles and people in attendance it felt
like a sacred magical lugged steel ground. There was a lot of love in one
place that night.

Some of my favorite memories not captured in pictures were Grant and I
talking yogurt and him also looking for a buckeye tree in the deep wood to
make a slingshot, Manny walking around camp in and riding a bike in his red
onesie and also the glee on people's faces when they realized they were
secretly pocket-pooh'd in the night, listening to Rich's explaining to me
what wife is like (she sounds wonderful to have stopped Rich in his tracks
and I hope to meet her!), getting bear-hugged from Esteban and listening to
what he learned from his retreat on the east-coast, seeing the giant man
ABCycleHank and his telling me that he was upset for not making the trip to
Detroit before I moved to the west coast (October, let's do a 200k brevet
back in the D!), meeting Jim Edgar with his big smile and open arms,
listening to how Philip's son has changed from making super-animated and
expressive stick-figures to a more accomplished 13-year old artist and
video game pro, seeing Beth ride past the boys on her Betty flying up and
down the hills, talking with Andy about why more people like us don't exist
and how lucky we are to be riding bikes together, talking with Aaron about
raising his 4 children and working at the same time and the sacrifices that
need to be made to do it the right way, getting bear hugged again from the
entire So-Cal crew (Hugh, especially), being reunited with my dear friend
Dustin and hearing about is success and positive trajectory, meeting Jenny
and explaining to her what the word lacchak means in Punjabi and why her
bicycle has it, meeting Toshi and listening to what his experiences of
riding 600k brevets are like, seeing the delightful couple Scott and
Elizabeth and talking with them about riding bicycles at Folsom lake and
vegetarian recipes, Manny saving our butts from getting shot by the park
ranger for riding trails by the supermoon light and finally seeing a huge
number of Rivendell lovers from across the country in one place. It was a
magical weekend indeed.

[RBW] Growing Closer With Family + Understanding Exposure

2012-08-06 Thread Amit Singh
My little brother has been generally immobile for the past month and a half
due to dislocating his ankle from his foot ...

SO, to get him moving on his crutches yesterday, I took him to the park
with a few cameras and a Peterson book -- Understanding Exposure.

We spent 4 hours (wow, getting either of us to sit for 4 hours to focus on
anything is a BIG DEAL!) going through the book and learning. This was his
first time playing with a SLR camera so there was the happiness reward for
learning the ISO / Aperture / Shutter Speed triangle. He learned to shoot
in manual and create his own images, so cool. He's excited about it and
wants to continue. I'm happy because this helps our bond grow and we've
found new stuff we can be passionate about together, cool ! :)

I took the Bombadil, got some cool Erik Jensen (bikenoir.blogspot.com)
inspired photo captures. Couldn't feel more perfect on the Bomba. Did
some grown-over single track riding in the thick woods. Light, quick,
super agile, carved when i wanted it to, well behaved, cut through the
thick underbrush and over gravel. Was it the bike, maybe the tires,
perhaps the bars, maybe it was me (ha, unlikely)? It was all together
perfect.

Pics to prove it happened:
 http://www.flickr.com/photos/amisingh/sets/72157630923220134/

Also -- I'm an American Sikh.

Amit

[RBW] Re: Positive review of sneakers and tires

2012-08-01 Thread Amit Singh
I was running Jack Brown Blues for a LONG time. Wore through 2 tires (so
proud!) and had on the second set on before jumping over to the non-tour
guard 37mm Pasela.

Here's a photo of the new fatty tires during yesterday's
ride: http://www.flickr.com/photos/amisingh/7687477028/lightbox/

During brevets I ride Grand Bois Cypres.

There really is a difference.

I'll be curious if anyone else gets a pair of the Evolv kicks and what they
think. I like them a lot more than my Sambas The shoes are made for
exploring, so in addition to being grippy and comfortable, they've got good
toe protection also. I like them a lot. I own a pair in the black and the
copper.

Here's a blurry photo of the kicks at the end of yesterday's
ride: http://www.flickr.com/photos/amisingh/768802/lightbox/

when wet. Fantastically comfortable to walk around in all day, multiple
days. Light weight and breathable. True to size. I got them on sale via
 Zappos under $50.00.

 - 37mm Pasela Tires w/out Tourguard on my A. Homer Hilsen. It's so nice
to be able to fit a tire this fat with lower pressures under fenders and
still ride this bicycle. The bicycle still feels swift and quick but even
more comfortable. Really enjoying these. Roughly 200 miles and no flats.
Looking forward to riding them through a few upcoming longer rides.

[RBW] Positive review of sneakers and tires

2012-07-31 Thread Amit Singh
Just wanted to let the group know that I'm enjoying two products:

- Evolv Cruiser Shoe - Super grippy on touring and king grip pedals, even
when wet. Fantastically comfortable to walk around in all day, multiple
days. Light weight and breathable. True to size. I got them on sale via
Zappos under $50.00.

- 37mm Pasela Tires w/out Tourguard on my A. Homer Hilsen. It's so nice to
be able to fit a tire this fat with lower pressures under fenders and still
ride this bicycle. The bicycle still feels swift and quick but even more
comfortable. Really enjoying these. Roughly 200 miles and no flats.
Looking forward to riding them through a few upcoming longer rides.

Re: [RBW] Ride Report : Ride Through Detroit

2012-07-25 Thread Amit Singh
Thanks for the love, y'all. Detroit is really a fantastic place to ride.
Imagine, 4 lanes of amazing road built for Cadillac and Lincoln boats
throughout the city now deserted except for the roll of Kenda, Avenir and
Schwinn tires rolling through. So much to look at and experience, fertile
ground sprouting and sometimes exploding through the empty party shell
that's been left behind.

A little somethin' more from the photoset which I didn't have time to
process during the ride:

A STAR IS BORN THROUGH IMMENSE PRESSURE
AND WE HAVE HAD OUR FAIR SHARE.
THAT BEACON OF LIGHT YOU SEE IN THE DARK
IS OUR FAIR CITY RISING FROM THE NIGHT SKY.

If you haven't experienced it before I welcome you. Detroit is perhaps the
best city to ride a bicycle.

[RBW] Ride Report : Ajit's Ride Through Detroit

2012-07-24 Thread Amit Singh
My good friend Ajit was in town, visiting from Boston to attend his
sister's baby shower. He promised to spend Sunday with me. Generally,
when we get together, it involves adventure. This time, we explored
Detroit City by bicycle.

We saw lots of great wall art, had a few cups of rich and delicious Costa
Rican coffee, some excellent baked goods from Avalon bakery, enjoyed a few
beers at Mercury Bar (corktown), PJ's Lager House (corktown), The Old Miami
(midtown) and The Woodbridge Pub (woodbridge).

We also explored Michigan Central Station (midtown), Financial DIstrict
(downtown) Riverfront, Dequindere Cut and Eastern Market.

We ended off the day with a dinner of pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans
and mac cheese from Slows to Go.

This was one of the best days of summer.

Also, Ajit enjoyed his cycling experience and as a result, we are now on
the lookout for a decent frame which has a similar ride, geometry and
clearances to the 64cm Kogswell P/R Generation II.

Seriously. So much fun. Detroit is pretty amazing. -- Ajit

Super enjoyable. Took me right back to our time exploring the Marin

[RBW] MidWeek S24O

2012-07-20 Thread Amit Singh
Wednesday night, Doug, Russ and I went out for an S24O.

Both are currently on vacation yet understood that I had work
obligations, so they were kind enough to leave after work Wednesday
and return before work Thursday.

Along the way to camp we stopped by Cycletherapy Bike Shop for a water
bottle, some chain lube and a new set of bmx-style platform pedals.
We also met a few horses and explored some beautiful dirt roads.

Dinner was at Wendy's for a mid-route rest and something hearty to
keep us satiated through the evening and soak up the Belvenie scotch
we'd consume later that night.

It was a great time, we'll definitely do it again.

Combined there-and-back: 75ish miles.

Candidate #1:  My Black Mountain road bike.  It's currently got a 46/29 and

White on this bike would get a little more Silver on it, and I'd move this

a bunch of people on the forum in person they really helped me understand
that it's okay to accept other people's help. Grant put in better words
Everybody who helps you will be getting more out of it than they're
giving, so you can legitimately think of this as a gift the givers are
giving to themselves. It's interesting to note that despite how amazing
this gesture is that the  lovely folks at Rivendell HQ didn't make a huge
deal about it. Which made me feel a lot more comfortable about accepting
the bike, since it was done a month ago. (alas I don't check my voice
messages) It was funny because of how awkward I felt during the last few
months about the bike I didn't really have the courage to ask about the
progress or if it was even done. I figured when the bike was ready and the
time was right it would be done.
This bike is more meaningful to me knowing that so many people were willing
to contribute in so many ways. It's hard to even express a really thank you
over a simple forum, so I'll just do it through pictures.

Because pictures proved how grateful I am.http://flic.kr/s/aHsjzqBUdq

[RBW] Baby Brother Ride Photos

2012-05-03 Thread Amit Singh
Went out on a ride with my baby brother last night after installing
Nitto Noodle drop-bars on his Kogswell.

Had a great time, he said it's more fun riding with me than his friend
who is a girl because I'm a fast rider and he doesn't have to keep
stopping to turn around and wait. It made me laugh out loud. I told
him Dad's a great rider and fast-ish too, and that he should try going
out with him sometime.

The sunset was the highlight of the ride, magnificent to see.

[RBW] Re: Baby Brother Ride Photos

2012-05-03 Thread Amit Singh
I think it's interesting what the silhouette of the third photo
reveals in the fork differences between both bicycles. I'm sure
there's lots to see in differences of the frame geometries but my
ignorant eye can't see very much here.

[RBW] Re: Rode My First Rando Event Today

2012-03-18 Thread Amit Singh
Congratulations Smitty! Wonderful photos, thanks for posting your ride
report. Can't wait to read and follow your future adventures!

Thanks for all the tips everyone gave in my previous post asking for
Randonneuring advice. I put much of it to use today and had a successful
ride. The forecast called for 100% chance of rain showers. We got a few
minor sprinkles, lots of clouds and a decent amount of sunshine. I came
prepared for 100k of riding in a downpour. Instead I should have wore
sunscreen. No bonk or nutrition/cramp issues... I believe largely thanks to
tips from the list. My goal was to finish in 6 hours (a little over 10mph
average) and I got my card signed at 5:55. Perhaps I could have pushed
myself and gotten a slightly better time but that would have eaten into my
breaks, conversations, and scenery gazing. I don't really feel the need to
jump right into the longer brevets but it's likely I'll be back for more
 100k rides.

My control card proved it happened, but it's on it's way to France. These
 pics will have to
 suffice.https://picasaweb.google.com/113148323994353762329/OregonRandonneursS...

[RBW] Re: My ride report ( Really long post)

2012-03-06 Thread Amit Singh
Great ride report Manny!

On Mar 6, 3:39 pm, Manuel Acosta manueljohnaco...@hotmail.com wrote:
Riding to NAHBS had a new meaning when I found out that MASHsf was
hosting a fixed gear time trial race to NAHBS starting at Pitsburg/Bay
Point Bart. Not wanting to carry a backpack the whole way there I
decided to join in on the race figuring I can just tag along with the
group to Sacramento. A meet a group of nice guys who just recently met
up to race so I decide to offer my services to pull their team to
NAHBS. Little did I know that 30 minutes into the race I get a flat.
Thing is about alley cat races no one is there to provide car support.
I pull off and try to desperately change the flat to stay in the race.
After getting the flat fixed 15 minutes later I flat again. With no
spare tubes I had to walk a mile to the nearest bike shop to get some
tubes. I get to the shop and I find out that the shop isn't open for
another 30 minutes.  I finally got back on the road after losing an
hour to catch up with the race. Lost, my only source of directions is
the cue sheet I hastily printed out, only after riding a couple of
hours do I realize that the cue sheet is printed backwards. Starting
at my destination and ending at the Bart station. Not very helpful.
But I continue to ride on with the only hints of me going the correct
direction are lost water bottles on the side of the road.  I finally
catch up the one lone fixed rider that same guy I was suppose to
support before I got my flat. My only break for that day is that this
one lone rider used to live in Sacramento so he knew where he was
going. So I do the right thing and I take the pull to Sacarmento. We
get there late with only a hour for the show so we scramble to try to
find someone to open up the sag van to get my stuff, while in the
process of getting my bag I run into Marc, Mr.OwlBoogie himself with
his handmade XO-1 hoodie. After a quick camera duel I finally get my
stuff back and with no time to check out the show I huff it back to
Davis to stay with my brother. Which turned out to be a good thing and
bad thing. Good because I got a free place to stay with brother who
knosw where to get a great hamburger. Bad because I got to deal with
the college scene debacle, where his roommates decide to go bar
hopping late into the night and provide a rude and aburpt awaking at 3
in the morning. I wake up early to get ready for the Mimosa Ride with
Sheila Moon prior to going to show I'm surprised to see random people
sleeping in his living room. I silently and quickly take my leave. At
the ride I got to meet plenty of interesting people, I'm horrible with
names but it was great riding with so many people from so many
different places and backgrounds doing one common thing; out on a
Sunday enjoying the weather and riding our bikes. Got to see a
handlefull of Rivendells Mr.Harry Hugel Quickbeam was one of them.
Harry introduced me to a nice lady who happened to be the wife of the
Convention Organizer, Rich. Who both happen to organize the Tweed
Rides in Sacramento. Even better got to meet Rich personally at the
show! The show itself was bike geek heaven tons of shiny parts and
interesting looking bike. Got to check out the Rickshaw booth who was
testing out their new bag, got to see Mark Dwight(Owner of Rickshaw
Bag Works) fresh with off his tour biking down the coast looking fancy
 in his MUSA pants.
Riding and hanging around NAHBS was a memorable experience in itself
but by far the best event was the ride back from Amtrak that Sunday. I
got to meet a great couple Jim and Ginger who rode a Atlantis and
Homer and we hit it off right away. Our connection with our bikes came
secondary to just the experience we all shared and the roads we rode.
It didn't matter how we got there both our of experiences were special
and amazing. It's great how something as simple as a bike can provide
experiences that can cultivate amazing stories.

One thing missing in this discussion about mustache wax (MW), has been taste.
I used to use the stuff but could never find any that appealed to my sense of

I'm still running a mustache and would like to know which wax is the best
 tasting.
I often lick my chops when I'm riding aggressively and pass other riders,
this happens far less often these days, but nevertheless.
