[Repeater-Builder] Re: Yaesu FT-2800 Solutions

2009-01-13 Thread Bob Ricci
We have decided to use brand new Yaesu VX-4100 commercial radios. They
not only have excellent specs, but they have a DB15 on the back that
has all of the I/O needed.

If you return the FT-2800s, you should get your money back & get a radio
designed for repeater operation. A G.E. MVP would be a good example:

I asked a local Yaesu dealer if the have B stock on the VX-2100. Its
an 8 channel commercial with a DB15 on the back. The baby brother of
the VX-4200's that I have. EASY to make a repeater from.

Yeah. I've probed all over the board looking for usable signals (or
something that could be converted to a usable signal) without much luck. I
think I did find something once but was unable to tap it without a scanning

I spoke at length with the techs at Yaesu and THEY are trying to
figure out how to connect WIRES to it. Maybe a bad purchase
decision... The schematic shows the pins connected to but not
sufficient detail to know what the pin does.
