Re: [Resin-interest] Websphere?

If you have to use SOAP, you may be better off to use Websphere.
That may work faster than Apaches. Otherwise, you better do
YOUR OWN bench markying with some tests!

I switched several users of Webshpere over to Resin and never looked back.
I would guess whatever your business reasons are for the change, they are
not valid.
It has also been my experience that Resin is faster, lighter, easier to
manage, and Scott Ferguson as good as anyone left at the sinking ship that
is BEA. Back in the day, BEA had some real talent (and they needed it to
keep the beast from self-destructing). I don't see it anymore.

That would be very surprising. We just had someone switch from
Websphere to Resin and were surprised at just how much faster Resin
was for their application.

If there's a specific feature that's faster in Websphere, we'd like to
know about it.

It shouldn't, since all databases in Java use a standard JDBC interface.

Websphere = IBM.
Weblogic = BEA.

Confusing, ain't it?

I switched the company I was working for from Websphere to Resin back in
2001. Websphere was an absolute nightmare to install back then, and we
noticed no performance difference.

Resin has changed a lot since then. I'm sure Websphere has too.

Saludos,
Jose.

By the same logic, his company should swap out all servers and personal

Seriously though Haluk, give us some specific points other than database

to consider. There must be a reason (or several reasons) other than
database connectivity that prompts you to ask for comparisons?
