Re: Review Board -Add Repository Issue(with Perforce)

issues. 3.Later i installed latest Bitnami Review Board stack for windows.
4.Later i started both Apache Web Server and MySQL Database. I am able to
acccess ReviewBoard log-in url. I have created a user. 5.Then when i try to
add the perforce repository and save it, i am getting the following error:
DLL load failed: The specified module could not be found.

OK. I have finally been able to create a Perforce repository in
ReviewBoard. I used the public.perforce.com:1666 repository for
testing. This is the exact steps I followed:

 - Install BitNami ReviewBoard
 - Go to the Windows Start Menu - BitNami ReviewBoard - Register
BitNami Python in the Windows Registry.
 - Open the BitNami environment. Go to the Windows Start Menu -
BitNami ReviewBoard - Use BitNami
Reviewboard (this will open a windows command prompt).
 - Install p4python27.exe from the command line (it needs to be the
32 bit binary). I used [this version][1]. Only the API component is
necessary.

Now to check that the module is loaded correctly in the Python version
installed with BitNami:

 - Execute `python`
 - In the python console execute `import P4`

If you don't receive any error from the console, it means that the
module is installed correctly. You are receiving the error when
accessing reviewboard because when importing that module in the
application running with apache + mod_wsgi the msvcr90.dll is not
found. (The issue is similar to [this][2]).

In order to fix you need to have installed [vcredist 2008 x86][3] and
the mt.exe tool installed. mt.exe is included in the [Microsoft
Windows Software Development Kit][4] (only the windows development
tools component is required). Then execute the following:

mt.exe
-inputresource:c:\bitnami\reviewboard-1.7.11-0\python\bin\python.exe;#1
-out:pyd.manifest

mt.exe -manifest pyd.manifest
-outputresource:c:\bitnami\reviewboard-1.7.11-0\python\Lib\site-packages\P4API.pyd;#2

Restart apache and try to create a new Perforce repostiory.

I have also replied to you in the BitNami forums
(answers.bitnami.com). I hope this helps.

 1) CD {install

 2) Verify that ReviewBoard-1.7.9-py2.7.egg ReviewBoard-1.7.11-py2.7.egg
 exists
 3) Rename ReviewBoard-1.7.9-py2.7.egg to ReviewBoard-1.7.9-py2.7.egg.old
 4) Rename ReviewBoard-1.7.11-py2.7.egg to ReviewBoard-1.7.9-py2.7.egg
 5) Restart Apache service
 6) Site is working normally

I couldn't find the location in a config file that pointed to the old .egg
folder, so making sure the new folder exists and renaming it worked. This
is not the suggested fix, however it will get you over the issue for now.

it if karma could be provided at the below links in order to push it to

[1] Fedora 17 has upgraded to Django 1.4 in the main repo. People who
have been using ReviewBoard up to this point will have just been holding
their local Django at 1.3 in yum. However, I can no longer build a new
copy of ReviewBoard because 1.6.x won't build against Django 1.4 and
ReviewBoard 1.7.x requires other dependencies that are two new to be
carried in Fedora 17. If you need long-term supportability for
ReviewBoard, I recommend using RHEL 6. Otherwise, please upgrade your
systems to Fedora 18 or 19 (the latter which is in its release-candidate
 stage now and quite stable).

Despite not being prompted, I ran rb-site upgrade

Ah, thanks for reminding me. Not that anyone actually reads the

run rb-site upgrade after installing the packages. I'll tweak the

I've been meaning to patch the Fedora packages to do this
automatically, by having rb-site install save a config file with a
list of installed sites so I can have the %post script run the upgrade

I've actually been wanting such a file for Review Board upstream that
rb-site can write to, so that we can be more intelligent about upgrades.
If you come up with a good way to do it, let me know :)

Has Review Board formally and without question dropped Windows support?
If so, it becomes reasonably easy to hardcode a requirement on a file
such as /etc/ReviewBoard/sites which could be as simple as
one-path-per-line, and then patch rb-site to amend it when doing an
install and to iterate through it when calling 'rb-site upgrade' with no
 arguments.

Then all I would have to do in the Fedora packages is call 'rb-site
upgrade' in the %post section on upgrades.

Just a comment from BitNami. Even if Windows is not supported it would be
great you don't have any path hardcoded. Currently we allow to have
different installations in the systems in different installation paths,
installing as root as an not root user. Of course this is also possible
without using the BitNami installers. Having that hardcoded will affect
this flexibility. If those are necessary I would suggest to have default
values..but not hardcoded and not customizables values.

I had a look in the EPEL repository that you mentioned, but couldnt see
a compatible package for the system.

Ok, you're on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. I can only support up to
ReviewBoard 1.5.7 on that platform natively because the system version
 of Python is only 2.4.

Since the OS is so old, I haven't gone through the effort of packaging
up all of ReviewBoard's dependencies against the python26 alternate
 compiler in EPEL.

Is there a reason that ReviewBoard needs to be installed on this
particular (very old) OS, or can you look at RHEL 6 (or perhaps
something like OpenShift, BitNami or of course RBCommons for hosting?)

Regarding BitNami, the linux installer may also work for you if using
the native system packages is not a requirement. It bundles Apache,
Python and mod_wsgi and it will not use the (old) system packages.

no need to upgrade, but if you had trouble creating a site, get it.

 Release notes are

Packages for Fedora 18, 19 and RHEL/CentOS 6 have been built and will be
showing up in the updates-testing or epel-testing repositories within 48
hours. Please remember that you will need to run 'rb-site upgrade
/path/to/site' after installing these new packages.

 Fedora:
 yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing ReviewBoard

 RHEL:
 yum update --enablerepo=epel-testing ReviewBoard

The Bodhi update links can be found at:

If you install these testing packages and find issues or they work
properly, please note this on the Web UI so I can know when it's safe to
submit them for the stable repositories.

Hi,

Just wanted to let you know that the BitNami installers, virtual

Announce - BitNami Windows installer for ReviewBoard

2013-03-06 Thread victoria
Hi,

As I already mentioned in the list in BitNami we were working on a
Windows installer for Review Board. Well, we have just released it and
you can download it from

http://bitnami.org/stack/reviewboard

This version includes Python, Django, MySQL, Apache with mod_wsgi,
Git, Subversion and all the required dependencies.

As you already may know Review Board is not longer officially
supported on Windows. It is was difficult to install on Windows and
lot of incompatibilities with different Python versions or modules
made difficult to support. However we (in BitNami) still have people
asking if we planned to provide a windows installer of Review Board as
we already do for Linux. As we offer all-in-one installer which
includes all the required dependencies most of those incompatibility
issues should not appear. You still will want to use a Linux version
for a production environment but I'm sure that for lot of users will
find useful the Windows installer to give a try to ReviewBoard and
discover if it is the right solution for them. Also we will keep it
update so you can quickly test new versions when released. Please
notice that the the installation should be fully functional (although
not officially supported by the ReviewBoard team) and we will love to
hear from you if you find any issue so we can fix it.

Christian I also wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for the
support you provide to me for getting this done :)

Well I hope you all enjoy it!

Best regards,

Victoria.

Hi

I didn't get that error even if the bitnami environment is not loaded.
If you have the chance of try it and you reproduce it. Could you copy

 But rb-site still fails with:

Is there way to see where setuptools is looking for packages/distributions?
Should I delete the 1.6.5 .egg?

Why did you need to install libreadline5? And when do you get that
error? What are you executing? This is what I execute and works for
 me:

 sudo easy_install --prefix apps/reviewboard --script-dir
 apps/reviewboard/bin --install-dir apps/reviewboard/lib -U ReviewBoard

Then if you execute the rb-site comand you will get the error below

This is because rb-site is not loading the bitnami environment. If you
open the rb-site script you will see that it is pointing to
 .python.bin.

 You can:

 Option A.-
Edit rb-site and change .python.bin with python.

For upgrading the BitNami installation you only need to take into

 steps:

1.- Upgrade ReviewBoard with easy_install. Load the BitNami
