i have my RT3.8.8 running correctly on a Mandriva 10 machine, with mail 
sent through smtp working on tickets updates with scrips.

I have subscribed to a dashboard who is using a saved search (with visible 
results), But  i never receive the email.

whenever i change my subscription settings, i have the result yellow box 
showing something like

Something i'm not sure is really correct..

i tried both leaving the "To:" field empty tu use my default adress 
mentioned, and filling it again with my email adress. None of them worked.

and nothing is showing in RT (debug mode) or sendmail logs... can anyone 
give me a hint ?

[rt-users] Allow complete Domain access to RT

Hey all,

just a little question before the weekend:

Does RT support the possibility to grant everyone sending email from a 
specific domain (e.g. *@example.org) the right to post to a specific queue?


In my opinion this could be a minor security risk using forged sender 
addresses.


Btw, can you think of, or have in place any other protection mechanisms 
to prevent acceptance of forged sender addresses?

Thanks Gerard that works !

I skipped the step in the README when installing the sytem as it wasn't 
needed as a start.
Thought i couldn't find revelant help in the mail archives until i added 
the "cron" keyword following your email.

And the results are displayed corectly within Lotus Notes.

Yes, using trivial mail filtering.

RT supports GnuPG pretty well. perldoc lib/RT/Crypt/GnuPG.pm has a lot 
of information about it.

I know all about Outlook's crappy HTML support, and I hate it as much as 
anyone.  Part of my job is to make templates for various HTML e-mail 
newsletters that have to display well in all e-mail clients.  It sucks, but 
it's the way it is.

The unfortunate fact of the matter is that Outlook's user base is large enough 
to not ignore, and with other e-mail clients that are increasing market share - 
like Gmail - that throw away all your header styles, I think it would be well 
worth it to create a dashboard e-mail that is formatted well for all e-mail 
clients.  I love RT and really want it to be the best option out there for what 
it does, I think the dashboard subscription is an awesome feature and really 
feel that it can be fixed to work happily in all the e-mail clients.

This should already be happening. The dashboards I get are properly 
localized into japanese. I'll add some tests to make sure this continues 
to work.

Is your language set to French in your preferences ?
Otherwise it is the browser which tells RT which language you prefer
which could explain the difference between browser and emails.

You need to check if your browser is sending a cookie to RT and RT is
refusing/ignoring it or if your browser isn't sending the cookie.
Wireshark is probably your friend.

Also, the RT_SITE is for test_it which is tied to  your rtname and
your port number, so if any of that changes (or if there is any
proxying happening) you may run into interesting problems.

Another common point is that setting $WebDomain is preferable to
setting $WebBaseURL, but it should all work out.  You can confirm that
by looking in Configuration -> Tools -> System Configuration

Also, you provided 50-debconf, but did you rerun the RT_SiteConfig
generation tool to update RT_SiteConfig.pm with your changes?

[rt-users] Missing "actions menu" on Ticket display page after 3.8.9 upgrade

Just did an upgrade from version 3.8.8 to 3.8.9 today in our development 
environment. After an apache service restart, RT came up with no problems. 
When I display a ticket I am missing the actions-menu (Reply, Comment, Steal, 
etc...) and I am also missing the page-menu (Display, History, Basics, Dates, 
People, Links, Reminders, Jumbo) along the top of the ticket. When looking that 
the rendered HTML source, the page-navigation div is totally empty (no 
children).
I assume this a missing acl or something in the DB that is preventing the menu 
from being rendered, but I am at a loss. Has anyone else experienced this 
problem?

That is unlikely to be ACL related.  We only ACL control individual
elements.  It sounds a lot more like a misbehaved local extension.

There is no option to set something to french. It looks like it is 
automatically done (by the browser as you suggest?)

This should already be happening. The dashboards I get are properly 
localized into japanese. I'll add some tests to make sure this continues 
to work.

which could explain the difference between browser and emails.

I am setting up RT for the first time.  We use a small business server
for email.  Currently I am able to send email to RT through SBS to
create a ticket.  RT is also sending email to users in our domain just
fine.  I am having a problem sending email from RT to users outside of
our domain.  I think I see the error in the event log on SBS as
