[RollTideFan] yellcrew - Jamie

2005-08-03 Thread sonja524
Great.

First I had the awful visual of Ricky Mc's back hair, then JoBu (everything
about JoBu is an awful visual) and now Jamie has to mention his boner over a
.wav file.

Just great. Thanks, Jamie.

[RollTideFan] Friday Funny - Woman Man prayer

2005-07-01 Thread sonja524
FEMALE PRAYER

Before I lay me down to sleep,
I pray for a man, who's not a creep,
One who's handsome, smart and strong.
One who loves to listen long,
One who thinks before he speaks,
One who'll call, not wait for weeks.
I pray he's gainfully employed,
When I spend his cash, won't be annoyed.
Pulls out my chair and opens my door,
Massages my back and begs to do more.
Oh! Send me a man who'll make love to my mind,
Knows what to answer to how big is my behind?
I pray that this man will love me to no end,
And always be my very best friend.
Amen.

MALE PRAYER

I pray for a deaf-mute nymphomaniac with huge boobs,
who owns a liquor store and a bass boat.
This doesn't rhyme and I don't care.
Amen

There's ALWAYS some cluster-fuck to contend with on

[RollTideFan] My rant of the week

2004-11-12 Thread sonja524
Sorry for not bringing this up sooner, but I have been battling the flu all
week. This is the first day I have actually been vertical.

You all know that I am not one to complain, but I have to share this incident
from the Rice Bowl 2004...

Ron and I, along with 2 friends take our seats on the 45 yd line. Game starts,
we screw up, MSU scores. My husband jumps around, doing his happy dance and
utters something that ended in shit to me or someone around me. The God
Squad lady in front of us told Ron to watch his language because she had
children there. Ron mouthed off something and she promptly responded with
I'll report you. WTF!!??

Do we now check our 1st Amendment rights at the ticket gate? Are our children
so fragile that it will damage them forever to hear the word, shit? I'm sorry,
but at a football game I will NOT watch my language. If I feel a sonofabitch
is in order, I'll say it.

Why do people believe that they have a God-given right to NOT be offended? The
mini van driver with the jesus fish that cuts me off in rush hour traffic
offends me, where do I report him?

If you know this woman, her Jim Jones - kool aid drinking husband or her
children who look to be straight from central casting for The Children of the
Corn movie, you can tell them where to find me.

That's all.

Why can't we talk about the positive side to this? Guillon looked good Saturday.
When is the last year you remember us having ANY depth at ANY position? I think Marc
will do fine. Let's give him a chance, all you chicken littles...before we proclaim
THE SKY IS FALLING.

I know beating Western Carolina was like picking on the retarded kid on the
playground, but I do think we have some DEEP talent.

Side note to Brodie: While you are in the hospital recovering from your surgery on
Tuesday, you might want to *seriously* look into a haircut. Your current 'do is not
flattering in the least.

game. I think if you return the trash talk you get a little more respect.
Even at Bama trash talk is part of itjust makes it more fun in my

As I've told you before Mike, they are not allowed to sit at the cool kids table, so
no...they didn't show up.

We had a nice pre-game tailgate, got to see friends we haven't seen since last year
and made some new ones. The Smoot crew stopped by for a little while and stirred
things up a bit.

Ron (Velvet Leggs) was in rare form Saturday. It doesn't take much to talk him into
'bustin-a-move.' He performed for anyone who would watch.

As for Mrs. Smoot's comment regarding my newly acquired vehicle...I have no
contractual obligation to Mr. Rice for sexual favors in lieu of said vehicle purchase.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

My opinion (not that it counts for much)

He didn't rape her, it was consensual.
Afterward (and after talking with friends)she figured that she could parlay her
encounter into mega-bucks.

She messed big time.

1. By having sex with at least 1 (maybe 2) other males PRIOR to going to the hospital
and reporting it to the police.
2. Thinking that text messaging cannot be retrieved by her cell phone provider.

I think the prosecution f'd up on many issues as well. In any event, his image was
tarnished and he is out 5 mil for the I f'd up ring he had to buy his wife. Waahhh!
Cry me a river. On the other hand, I have absolutely no sympathy for the victim
either. She is going to get WAY MORE than she deserves with the civil suit. I figure
he will pay her a couple mil to shut the f*ck up and go away.

JMO, of course.

Let's do the math:

233 tickets by 2 officers in 4 hours = 116.5 tickets per officer in
 four
hours = 29.13 tickets per officer per hour.

That's about 1 ticket every two minutes per officer.

That sounds unbelievable. Unless the 'radar units' were actually
 staffed
  by
several ticket writers and one or more radar guns.

Still, that's one ticket per 'unit' every two minutes.

 State eyes drinking at games
 Tuesday, August 31, 2004
 KIM CHANDLER
 News staff writer
MONTGOMERY - Football fans aren't the only ones descending on college towns
 this weekend.

More than a third of the state's alcohol enforcement agents are, too.

Uniformed officers with the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board will be
assigned Friday and Saturday to state-run liquor stores near stadiums where
Auburn University, the University of Alabama and the University of Alabama
at Birmingham will be playing their season openers, events that coincide
with the Labor Day holiday weekend.

ABC's Lt. Jeff Rogers said the effort is a way to discourage underage people
from trying to buy liquor. Agents also will be focusing on crowd control and
combating shoplifting in the stores, which often are packed with boisterous
 customers on football Saturdays.

The massive manpower push will involve 35 to 40 enforcement officers, Rogers
said, one or two of whom will be assigned to each of the stores near the
stadiums in Auburn, Tuscaloosa and in Birmingham near Legion Field. The
agency has about 95 enforcement agents.

The agency has done similar enforcement operations during Christmas and
other holidays, but never for football games, Rogers said.

The football/Labor Day push was the idea of ABC Administrator Emory Folmar.
When he was mayor of Montgomery, Folmar developed a tough-on-crime
reputation, even carrying a holstered pistol for a time.

The department might continue the operation throughout football season.

Really, this weekend is the test weekend, Rogers said. We're going to
have to wait and see how it turns out.

Rogers said the department initially intended to keep the operation secret.

John Matson, deputy press secretary for Gov. Bob Riley, said the governor
was aware of the operation and approved.

The governor wants to do anything he can to make our highways safer, he
 said.

Matson and Rogers said the operation shouldn't cost the state extra money
because agents will take off during the week to compensate for working the
 weekend.

While Christmas is the season to be jolly, Labor Day and football time
apparently are the seasons to be tipsy, at least according to ABC sales.

Labor Day is right up there. And these particular stores, because of the
opening day of football, there's a tremendous amount of people in those
 stores, Rogers said.

[RollTideFan] Non Bama - (was Age Survey)

2004-06-22 Thread sonja524
I appreciate your position Joe, but my experience is that organized religion is full
of hypocrisy and not something I want to indulge in. I have better things to do on
Sunday (Saturday, Wednesday or whenever)than to show up at a church, see and be seen
with my rah!, rah!...I am a christian sign.

I choose of my own free will to live a decent life, be a good wife and mother, go to
work every day and pay my taxes. If that doesn't get me to where I want to be in the
hereafter, well...then I wasn't meant to be there anyway.

The way I understand it is that we ALL have a private line to God. I choose to use
mine frequently and I do not need interpreters.

Respectfully,
Sonja

The current insurrection in Iraq was discernable a year ago, as I already
noted in April 2003: Thousands of Iraqi Shiites chanted 'No to America, No
to Saddam, Yes to Islam a few days ago, during pilgrimage rites at the holy
city of Karbala. Increasing numbers of Iraqis appear to agree with these
sentiments. They have ominous implications for the coalition forces.
The recent wave of violence makes those implications fully apparent.
Two factors in particular made me expect Iraqi resistance. First, the quick
war of 2003 focused on overturning a hated tyrant so that, when it was over,
Iraqis felt liberated, not defeated. Accordingly, the common assumption that
Iraq resembled the Germany and Japan of 1945 was wrong. Those two countries
had been destroyed through years of all-out carnage, leading them to
acquiesce to the post-war overhaul of their societies and cultures. Iraq, in
contrast, emerged almost without damage from brief hostilities and Iraqis do
not feel they must accept guidance from the occupation forces. Rather, they
immediately showed a determination to shape their country's future.
Second, as a predominantly Muslim people, Iraqis share in the powerful
Muslim reluctance to being ruled by non-Muslims. This reluctance results
from the very nature of Islam, the most public and political of religions.
To live a fully Muslim life requires living in accord with the many laws of
Islam, called the Sharia. The Sharia includes difficult-to-implement
precepts pertaining to taxation, the judicial system, and warfare. Its
complete implementation can occur only when the ruler himself is a pious
Muslim (though an impious Muslim is much preferable to a non-Muslim ). For
Muslims, rule by non-Muslims is an abomination, a blasphemous inversion of
 God's dispensation.
This explains why one finds a consistently strong resistance to rule by
non-Muslims through 14 centuries of Muslim history. Europeans recognized
this resistance and in their post-crusades global expansion stayed largely
away from majority-Muslim territories, knowing these would awesomely resist
 their control.
The pattern is striking: For over four centuries, from 1400 to 1830,
Europeans expanded around the world, trading, ruling, and settling - but
distinctly in places where Muslims were not, such as the Western Hemisphere,
sub-Saharan Africa, East Asia, and Australia. In a clear pattern of
avoidance, the imperial powers -Britain, France, Holland, and Russia
especially - took control of far-away territories, while carefully avoiding
their Muslim neighbors in North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
Only in 1830 did a European power (France) find the confidence frontally to
confront a Muslim state (Algeria). Even then, the French needed 17 years
just to control the coastal region.
As European rulers conquered Muslim lands, they found they could not crush
the Islamic religion, nor win the population over culturally, nor stamp out
political resistance. However suppressed, some embers of resistance
remained; these often sparked a flame of anti-imperialism that finally drove
the Europeans out. In Algeria, a successful eight-year effort, 1954-62,
 expelled the French colonial authority.
Nor was the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq the first Western undertaking to
unburden Muslims of tyrannical rule. Already in 1798, Napoleon Bonaparte
appeared in Egypt with an army and declared himself a friend of Islam who
had come to relieve the oppressed Egyptians of their Mamluk rulers. His
successor as commander in Egypt, J.F. Menou, actually converted to Islam.
But these efforts to win Egyptian goodwill failed, as Egyptians rejected the
invaders' proclaimed good intentions, and remained hostile to French rule.
The European-run mandates set up in the Middle East after World War I
included similar lofty intentions and also found few Muslim takers.
This history suggests that the coalition's grand aspirations for Iraq will
not succeed. However constructive its intentions to build democracy, the
coalition cannot win the confidence of Muslim Iraq nor win acceptance as its
overlord. Even spending $18 billion in one year on economic development does
 not improve matters.
I therefore counsel the occupying forces quickly to leave Iraqi cities and
then, when feasible, to leave Iraq as a whole. They should seek out what I
have been calling for since a year ago: a democratically-minded Iraqi
strongman, someone who will work with the coalition forces, provide decent
government, and move eventually toward a more open political system.
This sounds slow, dull, and unsatisfactory. But at least it

I've stayed out of this as long as I can.

I received NO student loans, grants, etc. to attend college; my parents earned too
much money.(yeah, right) But Dub and Earl could have gone to school for free since
they lived in poverty. Instead, they decided to retread tires for a living @ 5.00/hr.
Now I am supposed to feel sorry for them? If you are poor and can't support
yourself: A) you yourself made poor career/education choices. B) you should not have
a house full of children that taxpayers now have to clothe, feed AND educate. My
conscience is completely clear.

I agree with you (Shiite!!) that the school systems are in need of one of
them bridges built to those less fortunate.

Interesting that you point out that we (although there is no 'we' in Federal
Gubmint) spend $5-6000 a year in Federal dollars but then you also mention
how the federal plutocracy wants to dictate what the schools can teach.
Although I don't necessarily agree with it, the entity who pays for the
education (the teacher's salary, the buildings, the expenses) can in fact
dictate what is taught. Whoever holds the purse-strings gets to call the
shots. Until the school systems are treated like a business and ran
accordingly, we are in store for more of the same.

As far as choosing what kind of education your child receives, you have that
choice now: Moving to districts where the schools are better; sending your
kids to private school and home-schooling are all valid options. What most
people though are looking for are ways to have their children educated
better, but at no direct cost to the parents. My opinion, differ with me if
you like, is that it isn't the gubmint's responsibility to provide 'free'
education to the mass population. If it is, then they get to dictate what is
taught. If you, as a parent don't like it, fork over the money to move, send
them to a private school or have one of the parents stay home and teach
 little Jimmy the A,B,C's.

For schools to teach what the local parents want means the parents are going
to have to pay for it. Having the parents pay $2-800 a month for their kids
to be taught the way in which the parents feel is usually where the fight
 ends.

(Talking about throwing money at a problem, I saw on the news where American
troops were giving money to families (compensating them) who live in houses
that were destroyed as part of the round-up of the bad guys. Wonder how much
a clay and rock 3/2 rancher will fetch in a war-torn area with no
 electricity, water or roof?)

And yes, there are millions of people who don't have running water. If that
isn't the case, explain to me why the entire population of Tinnersee smells
 that way???:)

Interesting that we (the American gubmint) can globe-hop and re-build
schools and make sure all these fine folks have running water while there
are schools in THIS country that don't have enough
  money\space\teachers\supplies\etc.

Whoa!!! I know you didn't just say / type that. Consider this. Throwing
money at problems has never done anything other than make them worse.
Consider poverty. We throw money at it and subsidize fatherless babies and
viola! More fatherless babies born into poverty stricken pseudo families!
Think about a drug addict or an alcoholic. Keep throwing money at them and
 see what you get.

So when you think about education, think about the $5-6,000 that we spend in
federal dollars on each student every year. You know, about 25% of the
middleschool students cannot find the United States on a world map? Can you
believe that? It is not due to a lack of money. It is due to a federal
plutocracy that wants to dictate what the schools can teach, i.e.. Heather
has Two Mommies and other such crap. If you have a class of 25 students at
 $5,000 a pop, then you have 5,000 X 25= $125,000.00. After you pay a
teacher about $30,000.00 that leaves $95,000.00. WTF happens to all that
cash? And that is just from ONE classroom. Multiply the school population
by $5,000.00 and ask yourself why the hell we are cranking out a bunch of
idiots that have to take remedial math courses upon signing up for college.
They don't even teach History like they used to. Face it, the federal
government needs to give Americans school vouchers so that they can choose
what kind of education their children receive.

Not to mention the millions of people who can't afford health

I agree with DeVo. Did I say that? ;-)

I think most Alabama fans have no problem with UAB. They've always had a good
basketball team, now they're have an up and coming football team as well. Remember
the tooth and nail game against Georgia last year?

Besides, they have one of the most prestigious medical schools in the country.

Mr. Finebaum, no one in Tuscaloosa is drinking the hater-ade. We love our brothers
and sisters in B'ham. Maybe because they realize that they are not THE University of
Alabama. If the opelika cow college could understand that as well, we'd live in
paradise.

Maybe I am the only one. But, I actually root for UAB when they are playing
other schools. I have a lot of friends that went there and I go to their
b-ball games more than I do to Tuscaloosa. (because it's closer)
I don't buy all the crap they do as what I am supposed to feel. UAB is a

[RollTideFan] To all my friends...

2004-03-18 Thread sonja524
especially Pat Smoot. ;-)

To all my friends: Thanks to your sending me chain letters in 2003:

I stopped drinking Coca Cola after I found out that it`s good for removing toilet
stains.

I stopped going to the movies for fear of sitting on a needle infected with AIDS.

I smell like a dog since I stopped using deodorants because they cause cancer.

I don`t leave my car in the parking lot or any other place and sometimes I even have
to walk about 7 blocks for fear that someone will drug me with a perfume sample and
try to rob me.

I also stopped answering the phone for fear that they ask me to dial a stupid number
and then I get a phone bill from hell with calls to Uganda, Singapore and Tokyo.

I stopped consuming several foods for fear that the estrogen they contain may cause me
to turn me gay.

I also stopped eating chicken and hamburgers because they are nothing other than
horrible mutant freaks with no eyes or feathers that are bred in a lab so that places
like McDonalds can sell their Big Macs.

I also stopped drinking anything out of a can for fear that I will get sick from the
rat feces and urine.

I think I`m turning gay because when I go to parties, I don`t look at any men no
matter how hot he is, for fear that he will take my kidneys and leave me taking a nap
in a bathtub full of ice.

I also donated all my savings to the Amy Bruce account. A sick girl that was about to
die in the hospital about 7,000 times. Funny thing about that girl, she`s been 7
since 1993...

I went bankrupt from bounced checks that I made expecting the $15,000 that Microsoft
and AOL were supposed to send me when I participated in their special e-mail program.

My Ericsson phone never arrived and neither did the passes for a paid vacation to
Disneyland.

But I am positive that all this is the cause of a stinking chain that I broke or
forgot to follow and I got a curse from hell

IMPORTANT NOTE: If you don`t send this e-mail to at least 1200 people in the next 10
seconds, a large flock of birds will dump on you tomorrow at 5 PM

The reason why all of those jobs are leaving the United States is because
for 40 of the last 50 years the Democrats have been pulling their lungs out
with corporate taxes. The corporations had to raise consumer prices to off
set the higher taxes which drives down their sales because of foreign
  competition.

Joe please turn off Rush and Hannity and expose yourself to another viewpoint. If
you think taxes are high in the U.S. then you don't know jack about the rest of the
 world.

Jobs are leaving the U.S. because we, collectively, earn so much more than many
other countries. A garment worker in Central America makes less annually than a
company pays for medical insurance for an American worker.

But I get your logic: All bad decisions are a direct result of Democrats. All good
decisions are a direct result of Republicans. What a refreshingly simple outlook on
 life.

my entire $10, I cannot ask for more or risk the wrath of Ron. I am allowed to
purchase clothing, shoes and especially handbags only with his approval and no item

Of course there's the report of Tyson Foods decreasing their work force by
6,000 and Siemen's Technology announcing that they are transferring 15,000
programming jobs overseas to lower wage countries.
But what is on the mind of the average voter? Bush's National Guard record
and the rumor of Kerry having an affair.
Bush Amnesty Sparks Surge in Border Crossings
 Thursday, February 19, 2004
 By Matt Hayes

On Jan. 27, the Copley News Service reported that shortly after President
Bush announced his plans to amnesty millions of illegal aliens in the U.S.,
more than half of the Mexicans trying to sneak into the U.S. through San
Ysidro (search) told authorities they were doing so to position themselves
 for the amnesty.
As one member of the U.S. Border Patrol (search) told me, They believe that
they are only responding to an invitation.
The percentage suggested by Copley probably does not come close to the
actual number of people who are running for the American border as word of
Bush's immigration plan (search) spreads through Mexico -- and indeed
throughout the world. Mexico, it seems, is now regarded the world over as
the doorway to the United States.
In the last several weeks, a staggering 90 percent of all illegal aliens
intercepted in one sector in southern Texas claim they've come for the
 amnesty.
Officers of the Border Patrol have now been directed to ask a set of
questions of the illegal aliens they apprehend running across the border.
One of those questions is: Is the person attempting to illegally enter the
U.S. in response to the Bush amnesty proposal? To make arrests, Border
Patrol officers often must dodge rocks being thrown at them by aliens as
they cross. They then are told by all but 10 percent of the illegals they
apprehend that it is the Bush amnesty (search) they've come for.
The agents were soon told to stop collecting this information, presumably
because it appeared as if the proposal was acting as a lure, says my source
 within the Border Patrol.
Word of the 2000-mile wide open door between Mexico and the U.S. has spread
far beyond Mexico. It is not just Mexicans who are flooding into our border
states anymore. Along with the Nicaraguans, Brazilians, Venezuelans,
Ecuadorians, and Chileans, agents of the Border Patrol now encounter
Chinese, Pakistanis, and Indians. Nationals of countries other than Mexico
are known, in Border Patrol parlance, as OTMs. (search) Because they
cannot easily be returned to their home country (whereas a Mexican national
might be driven right back across the border), OTMs are permitted to enter
the U.S. and given a Notice to Appear, which is a piece of paper demanding
their appearance before an Immigration Judge.
I'm an OTM and I want my NTA, some have been known to declare to the
Border Patrol. Rules require that most be given their NTA, upon which the
OTM departs forever for some unknown location in America.
A lot of OTMs want to be caught so they can get their papers, which makes
them legal enough to get past our checkpoint without having to ride in the
back of an 18-wheeler or crammed into the trunk of a car, says one agent.
This is what the Bush amnesty proposal has caused to happen at our border
with Mexico. Foreign nationals walk nearly unimpeded into our country --
fully aware of ways in which our immigration laws can be used to their
advantage and even the nomenclature of immigration law enforcement-- and
demand that our federal officers take a certain action that gives them the
greatest likelihood of disappearing within the U.S.
Like a loss-making business that is kept alive by its corporate parent so it
can be used as a tax write-off, the Border Patrol remains deliberately
undermanned and hogtied while the administration tries to keep up the
appearance that the borders of the United States actually mean something.
At a Democratic rally in Tennessee, Al Gore dumbfounded observers when, in
criticizing President Bush's invasion of Iraq, he baroquely claimed the
president had betrayed his country. Right now, thousands of registered
Republicans -- particularly those in border states -- are experiencing a
tangible sense of betrayal. Some things are sacrosanct to the modern
Republican, and along with such values as a strong national defense and
limited government, one is a secure national border. That disappeared with
President Bush's amnesty proposal, just as if he had announced that the GOP
is no longer interested in reducing taxes.
I doubt that most principled Republicans will forget it.
Matt Hayes began practicing immigration law shortly after graduating from
Pace University School of Law in 1994, representing new immigrants in civil
and criminal matters. He is the

2004-02-16 Thread sonja524
Joel:
Some people have animals, some people have pets and a few of us have non-human
companions. There is a big difference in each of the three.

People with animals allow them to live around their house, they leave them out in the
cold, feed them when they remember, never give them love or praise and never take then
to the vet. These are the animals you see permanently tied to a tree or in a dog pen
with an old tire to sleep in.

People with pets sometimes allow the pet inside their home. They may or may not know
their name, usually referring to the animal as it, dumbass or goddammit. They
will take the pet to the vet for yearly vaccinations but for nothing else. These are
people who view the animal as a liability and for the most part, only have the animal
because they caved into pressure by a child to get them a pet.

People with non-human companions are people who have framed photos of them on their
desk and around the house. Some sleep with them, most are inside only; going outside
long enough to do their business. They worry if the animal is eating like they
should, bathe them regularly, make them a part of holidays, love them unconditionally
and would donate one of their vital organs if the animal needed it. When it comes
time to tell that beloved companion good-bye; it hurts their soul. I have grieved
more for some of my pets than I have for some humans.

As for me, I will always have non-human companions.

That's fine, Jamie. We agree to disagree. I want to make this point clear: I am not
bashing Shula. I DO think he needs to grow a set and make some changes in his staff,
but overall I think he will do fine...in time. Unfortunately, time is not a luxury
Bama coaches are usually allotted.

I have ALWAYS thought that Sly would have been the best choice for the job.

Whether you want to believe it or not, in some parts of Alabama, the Bull Connor way
of thinking still exists...and it is not all backwoods rednecks. Many successful,
prosperous business people still long for the days of the old Alabama. Nothing will
ever change that. I will never believe that *some* of the powers that be at Alabama
have gotten past all that...

OK...lets look at what you said Jamie...

1. Croom is an Alabama Alumnus as well. Also, he was an assistant COLLEGE coach for
Bryant AND Perkins AND Curry. Curry is about as far away from the Bryant era as I
care to get. Shula had NO college coaching experience. He was also the QB coach in
Miami. Do you remember how well Miami's QB's performed during his tenure?

2. Croom is from one of the most respected and well known families in Tuscaloosa
County. No strip club incidents, lying about his football acheivements or his
education.

3. Croom doesn't have the millionaire name but think about this...he coached

I agree 100%. Problem is, the Black Klan leaders
in this country will not leave the race issue
  alone.

I was just wondering. Did MSU contact Price,
   Neuheisel, Oliver, Stallings, Donnan, (Tiny)
  Bowden,
Solich, or any of the HuGe
number of more qualified out of work *WHITE*
coaches before contacting Croom? I really don't
  know
but I doubt it. MSU was
arm-twisted into hiring Croom by, at the very
least, the horrible shit that was thrown at Bama
   when they hired Shula. There
was surely more back-room bullshit that went on
between Jackson and the rest of the Black Klan and
   MSU also.

I wish Croom an 11-1 season every year at MSU.
It's great to see Bama men succeed. It's just a
shame there has to be a cloud
hanging over a black man's hiring because of the
Black Klan. They hurt the black people. They do
  not
   help them.

[RollTideFan] Arn Bole 2003

2003-11-19 Thread sonja524
As some of you know, the BAH tailgate krewe will be making the trip to Hawaii this
Saturday, so this will be the first Arn Bole I have not attended since 1990.

The BAMA v. aub game is beginning to look like the BAMA v. lsu games of the past (note
that I said...IN THE PAST. Thanks, XCMD!) Each team will win the away game.
Remember...all the people in the know never expected the game we played at turd 'n
hair 2 years ago. WE WILL WIN THIS GAME!

Oh, and sometime next week, keep Jobu in your thoughts. You see, we are taking him
with us and are not real sure he will make it back...

Devonna:
While I have no doubt what you were told, this whole thing reeks of bullshit. When we
fired XCMD, all of the insiders had the short list of candidates. They were wrong.
When anything goes wrong with the team, we have the insiders who go out into a group
of people and start spewing confidential, inside information. They are all wrong
(hi tider-insiders!)

What I have learned in the past is that the people with true, inside information
don't talk about it. That's how they stay on the inside.

No offense Devonna, but I think your very reliable source is full of horse shit.

If he or she has any problem with my comments, have them call me. I'm in the book.

I heard some news last night that REALLy made me
sick, sick, sick Let's just say that
this someone is just about the only one who has been
allowed into ALL practices and it's not good. As
bad as I hate to say it this person said that CMS
and CJK are NOT disciplining the team. Case in
point, supposedly after the Ole Piss debacle this
'tough' team practice/meeting wasn't really all that
tough. Apparently, one of the players was not
blocking well so one of the DB coaches grabbed him
to try to correct him and he basically told the
coach to get his hands off him. Supposedly, CMS and
CJK were standing right there and did nothing to
this player and the player started Saturday against
UCheat. All of this was corraborated by a second
person at the meeting too. Basically, they said he
is taking a pro-approach to the players which I
guess can be bad and good.

Also, for any of those who are holding out hope that
Simeon Castille will go to Bama, don't hold your
breath. More than likely he will be joining Marcus
 Vick...

If this is really true and I have really have no
reason to doubt it, I am just
SICK!! The one thing that I
keep trying to hold to is the other friend I have
who said that this team is tighter and more focused
than he has seen them in a really long time. I
really want to believe the team is focused and
committed, if it were not, then how can they play
with such heart and determination? I know that I
probably should not say any of this but guys, I just
couldn't sleep last night it made me so sick. Just
DAMN if it's true. And no, I am not flaming anyone
 - I will continue to support this team and Coach!!!

Mr. Jones doesn't think Alabama is that good. Hum, well they sure turned
it up and put an ass whipping on da bulls, didn't they???

 Got anger? The Bulls do

By GARY SHELTON, Times Sports Columnist
© St. Petersburg Times published August 31, 2003

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Compliment them at your own risk.
Go ahead. Tell the players of South Florida how plucky they are. Remind them
of how they had Alabama on the ropes. Let them know how young they are and
 how far they've come.
Pat them on their backs. Chuck them on their shoulders. Tousle the hair on
 their scrappy little heads.
 Then duck.
And be careful you don't lose an arm.
The Bulls don't want to hear it, okay? Save the comments about how close
they came and how cuddly they looked. Stop the praise and change the
perception. USF doesn't want to be anyone's cute little brother. It doesn't
 want to be Spartacus.
 The Bulls lost, okay?
And if you want to make them happy, you can be as ticked off about it as
 they were.
Did you see that game get away? Were you there when Alabama went roaring
past? Do you have any idea what happened to their poise, their fire and
 their 10-point lead?
One moment USF was ahead 17-7 and in charge of the day and the next, they
were on their heels, confounded and dazed, trying to figure out their last
mistake while making their next one. The change was as quick as flicking off
 a light switch.
Alabama won 40-17 and it was only the mercy of Mike Shula, old Coach Boo
Boo, that kept it from being worse.
So go on. Let it annoy you. Talk about how the team blew a chance at
victory. Talk about what it let slip away. Get mad.
USF coach Jim Leavitt certainly did. His post-game review was, well, loud.
Also long. And harsh and passionate and pointed.
I brought the heat, he said, a little sheepishly. I let my emotions get
 the best of me.
In summation, Leavitt pointed out that, gee, it would have been nice to play
two halves instead of one and, golly, he prefers winning to losing and, by
gum, he sure would like to see a little better coaching and a little better
playing. To be accurate, Leavitt put it a little stronger.
I'd have been disappointed in him if he hadn't been mad, quarterback
Ronnie Banks said. We let him down. I let him down.
I wouldn't want a coach who didn't get mad at us at a time like this,
center Alex Herron said. That's why I think (Leavitt) is one of the best
coaches out there. There is no such thing as being happy about coming close.
 That's not our motto.
There is a tendency to treat a relatively new program as the Little Engine
that Could. After all, Alabama has a 102-year head start on USF, and it has
the 12 national championships and statues of Bear Bryant. And, despite its
recent scrimmages with the NCAA, Alabama still recruits off the top shelf.
Given all that, the snapshot of USF leading by 10 in the first half will be
 enough for some fans.
Certainly, it was a surprising picture. After 28 minutes of play, the Bulls
completely outplayed Alabama. They led 17-7, and Alabama's points had come
on a tipped pass that was intercepted and returned for a touchdown. At the
time, two things seemed clear: USF had a legitimate shot to win, and for a
coach, Alabama had hired Frank Sinatra Jr.
If USF wins this, the thought was at halftime, Shula wouldn't be allowed to
live and Leavitt, a coach Alabama had flirted with, wouldn't be allowed to
leave. You could almost sense the Tide crowd re-assessing fired coach Mike
Price. Hey, what's a little smut among friends?
Then it changed. One minute, USF was the roadrunner, and the next it was the
coyote, standing in midair after running off the cliff, eyes wide in that
 moment before the fall.
Alabama hit a long pass. USF didn't cover a slant. USF fumbled a kickoff. In
a 69-second flurry, the Tide was tied.
Just like that, the fire was gone from the Bulls. USF was on its heels,
absorbing instead of attacking, chasing instead of challenging. Alabama
threw where it wanted to - Hey, who told Shula about the pass? Wait until
Trent Dilfer hears about this. - and eventually, its huge offensive line
wore down the Bulls. The Tide kept the ball the last 61/2 minutes without
 throwing a pass.
Let's face it. If USF wants to be treated as a big-time program, then, yes,
it deserves some criticism for that second half. It mailed it in. It didn't
 compete.

Re: [RollTideFan] First HWFC Tailgating Report

2003-09-02 Thread sonja524
Let me clarify JoBu's ramblings...

1. The Rice's arrived at our pre designated time of 8:00 a.m.
2. Ronnie AND Jobu are in desperate need of dance lessons.
3. Someone in a BUICK with Michigan flags on one side and Bama flags on the other
side, parked beside the Rice party mobile. They promptly left after hearing our
musical selections. That was cool, considering you don't want to tailgate with anyone
driving a Buick.
4. Sonja is STILL lobbying for the Mercedes convertible (Hey Krut!) I was not the
one drooling over the mini cooper. Jobu just sat down in the man's car like he owned
it!

A few other observations:

** If you throw nacho cheese doritos on hot coals they DO burn.

** My phone is much cooler than Scotts.

** Krut has his phone number unlisted as to not frighten women children in his home
when contacted by drunk friends.

** Brady did not have an altar for the 1st game, but he shall have one for the
Oklahoma game. Maybe I'll call Roy Moore for construction tips.

** If pulled just right, Jobu's drawers will go over his head.

That is all...

ROLL TIDE!

 Double Murder Update
 Linden, Alabama
 Andrea Williams

Many questions remain unanswered concerning last week's murder of 52-year-old Ida
Little and her three-year-old granddaughter, Mikayla. Both were found shot to death
last Thursday in Little's home just outside Linden.

So far arrested in the case is three-year-old Mikayla's father, 42-year-old Michael
Landrum from Nanafalia. Landrum, who is a graduate of Sweetwater High, was also the
first black quarterback for the University of Alabama. He is also a well-known disc
 jockey in West Alabama.

Also arrested in the case is 22-year-old Jeffrey Napier from Lisman.

Even with the arrests, investigators say the questioning of individuals continues,
while several agencies assist with the investigation.

The Department of Human Resources helped us out, the Alabama Bureau of
Investigations, the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department in Mississippi, the
 Choctaw
County Sheriff's Office, also forensic scientist and the Scott County Sheriff's
 office
in Mississippi, says Chief Deputy Tommie Reese with the Marengo County Sheriff's
 Department.

With the case still under investigation deputies say they are limited in exactly what
they can tell us, this includes what role Mississippi agencies such as the Scott
County Sheriff's Department have played in the probe. (snip)
