ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Senior Cognos Developer works on full development life cycle within
Cognos reporting framework gathering and developing business requirements,

Our client is seeking an Application Developer in Wilmington, DE. This
position should typically be used for a mid-level, more seasoned, fully
proficient resource. Duties: Designs, analyzes, develops, codes, tests,
debugs and documents programming to satisfy business requirements.
Proficient in application development for a specific technology. Senior
Business Intelligence developer/analyst will be responsible for designing
and developing reports  analytics for the delivery of business
intelligence(BI) solutions for operational and analytical reporting for
Card Services. Primary responsibilities will include design and development
of framework management models, dashboards, Visualizations, Cubes and
reports utilizing Cognos 10 BI suite. Individual will assist with analysis
of reports and determining best fit within existing systems. Individual
should be able to understand/recommend the end to end solution including
the architecture aspects.

* Five plus years of experience in Design and Development using Cognos BI
Suite

* Proficient with Design and Development of Dashboards, Visualizations,
Cubes and Reports using Cognos 10 BI Suite

* Experience in Designing and Creating complex framework manager models

* Performance Tuning, Distribution Management and Scheduling Experience

* Experience creating WEBI reports, Universes and Dashboards using Business
Objects XI 3.1/4.1 would be a plus

* 5 plus years of experience with Relational databases specifically
Teradata, Oracle and SQL Server

* Experience in Unix, shell scripting and PL/SQL * Proficient in database
design - data modeling concepts, start schema etc

* Experience in ETL tool/technologies - AbInitio, Informatica  scheduling
tool would be plus

* Team player, good communication skills, can work independently with
little supervision

* Experience working with Remote Teams

The selected candidate will function as the Data Warehouse
Programmer/Analyst and will be responsible for supporting the expansion and
support of the Data Warehouse.
Ideal candidate will possess 5 years + of experience

Responsibilities:
Designing star schemas over varied sources of data which meet the business
imperatives.
Analyzing disparate sources of data and implementing an ETL process.
Design and develop an ETL process to incorporate source data into the
Enterprise Data Warehouse.
Participate in all required steps of the SDLC process, including but not
limited to documentation, testing and implementation.
Ensure code follows best practices and standards as laid out by the Data
Warehouse and IT policies.
Mentor team members on ETL best practices as well as star schema and data
modeling design.

Required Skills:
MUST have recent Cognos experience. This is the client’s tool of
choice.
Proven experience managing/leveraging outsourced solutions/providers.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong communication skills, and proven relationship development and
management capabilities, strong team player, positive attitude.
