standard CGI movies like Final Fantasy or any of the myriad kid flicks, is
that the humans often don't look real. They're stiff, facial and body
muscles not smoothly or realistically drawn. The technology's getting
better, true, but right now some of the characters look like walking
corpses. Some of the scenes I've seen from Beowulf are no different.
Though better looking than Polar Express, the characters still look stiff

Wonder why they didn't go with live action and then special effects like

Yep. Just like Firefly, it nearly got torpedoed by network
interference, but once they got past the network mandated motorcycle
chases, it got REALLY good. The last several episodes were very good.
Plus, Patton Oswalt. The finale was particularly good, especially
since it never even got broadcast in the US.

To be honest, I still can't figure out why.

Apparently it had something to do with there being X number of
episodes ordered, but they produced x+1 episodes because they retooled
the pilot, so Fox didn't show the last episode.

Epitaph one, the final ep, was very neat, and took the show in an
interesting direction.

that the tone reflects the title, but it's too much about full-on battles

been done to Rhodes himself: another cyborg. I don't know when or how this
happened, but Rhodes is essentially part of his armor, a scarred and
mutilated man who needs a charge from the armor in order to survice. (Kinda
puts a damper on the love life).

I may harp on this too much for some, but I really am tired of black male
characters being deformed or changed in some way. The years have given us
Cyborg, Black Racer, Spawn, Geordi on TNG, etc. So when I pick up recent
copies of Iron Man, and then War Machine, I grimaced when seeing Rhodey's
skeletal, cyborg face, thought nothing happening here when i saw the
lovely Asian doctor working with him. Odd that Tony Stark's great change
took the place of being infected with a techno-organic thing called
Extremis, which turned him into a living organic suit of armor--yet all
the change was invisible to the eye. The Extremis tech enhanced Stark, but
did so without making him look like a creature.

So for me, change means given Rhodey a human body again (evidently Stark was
working on a new body last I checked, and Norman Osborn took), give him a
more balanced life aside from that of a man of war, and make him more of a
 human than simply a machine.

Quesada on War Machine cancellation and the characters future.

For those of you who missed the announcement (like me) they are canceling
War Machine. In this week Cup O' Joe Marvel head honcho goes into the
details and the future of the character.

Why Cancel War machine? Why not put a Big artist on the book to attract
attention why not try a little harder to move him from behind Tony Starks
shadow and establish him as his own character by putting him on an Avengers
 book or something?

Joe Quesada: Here's the skinny when you ask, why not just put a BIG artist
on the book to attract attention, you make it sound like we operate under a
business practice that just tells creators what they have to do as opposed
to what they like to work on. Also, let me add that Leo Manco is an AMAZING
artist and has done the work of his life on WM, and Greg Pak is one of the
industry's top writers, so we put some of our best creative talent on the
title. However, in the case of War Machine, much like Runaways, we're
retooling and eventually looking to relaunch the book in a way that will
garner it some extra attention and hopefully some added readers. We've done
this quite successfully in the past, Runaways and She-Hulk being perfect
examples of this, and also, while I'm not at liberty to say this, with War
Machine, we have some very big plans that have been put into motion, but
you'll have to wait a bit to find out what those are. What I can say is that
my gut tells me you're going to be seeing more of Jim Rhodes doing his
thing, than you ever thought possible.

Subject: [scifinoir2] Quentin Tarantino confirms 'Kill Bill, Vol. 3,' but
 who's left to kill?

During promotion for the first two Kill Bill films, creator Quentin
Tarantino hypothisized that he'd like to return for a third installment that
would take place 10 years afterward the second film ended.  Six years since
Vol. 1 and a little over five years since Vol. 2, Tarantino has made waves by
letting everyone know he hasn't abandoned his plan.

Speaking during a press conference for Inglourious Basterds in Mexico on
Saturday, Tarantino says he still plays to shoot Kill Bill 3 in or around
2014.  According to Variety, the filmmaker said he'd shoot a different
picture inbetween.  He's currently contemplating a re-imagining of a number
of genres including a Western or a '30's type gangster movie.

Kill Bill, Vol. 2 ended with The Bride (Uma Thurman) reunited with her baby
and all of her targets killed.  Most speculate that Copperhead's daughter,
who is spared in Vol. 1 would be the most likely protagonist now that she's
all grown up and no doubt has revenge of her own on her mind. The Bill
portion of the film would be difficult to incorporate even in flashbacks
after David Carradine's death this past summer.

More curious is who exactly would produce the feature?  It's unclear whether
this is a project the Weinstein's were allowed to keep the rights too when
they left Miramax in 2005 or whether it would kick back to the recently
gutted indie specialty label.  Needless to say, parent company Disney would
hardly be adverse to making a sequel to a series that has already grossed
$332 million worldwide.  Plus, the mammoth success of Basterds this summer
ensures, at least for the time being, that Tarantino's reign in pop culture
 is hardly over.

Thurman will be seen in theaters later this month in the romantic comedy
 Motherhood.

More on this story as it develops on HitFix.

Can you wait another 5 years for a third Kill Bill?  Do you think it's still
 a good idea?

William Shatner set to be beamed up

Last updated 13:32 21/10/2009

Hollywood director JJ Abrams appears set to beam William Shatner up
to the

Star Trek sequel.

Abrams suffered plenty of criticism from Star Trek fans when he
opted not
to cast Shatner, the original Captain James T Kirk of the USS
Enterprise,
in this year's big screen update of the iconic sci-fi film and TV
series.

Abrams did cast the original Spock, Leonard Nimoy.

Star Trek was one of the most successful films of 2009, earning almost
US$400 million (NZ$542.81m) at the worldwide box office, and with a
sequel

set for release in theatres in 2011, Abrams confirmed Shatner may be
offered a role.

I would love to work with him, Abrams told reporters in Los
Angeles at a

press conference to promote the release of the Star Trek DVD.

We speak. We actually have a lunch date planned.

Abrams opted to make Star Trek a prequel, winding the clock back to
the

early years of the Star Trek crew with young actors Chris Pine (Kirk),
Zachary Quinto (Spock) and Simon Pegg (Montgomery Scott) filling the
lead

roles.

While Abrams and screenwriters Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman managed to
find

a way to bring Nimoy back, they opted against offering Shatner a role.

The dilemma they faced is examined in The Shatner Conundrum, one of
the

extra features on the Star Trek DVD.

It was a foregone conclusion we wanted him in the movie, Abrams
explained.

The problem was his character died on screen in one of his Trek
films and
because we decided, very early on, that we wanted to adhere to Trek
canon

as best we could ... the required machinations to get Shatner into the
movie would have been very difficult to do given the story we wanted
to
tell and also to give him the kind of part that he would be happy
with.

It was this thing where it would have felt like a gimmick in order
to get
Shatner in the movie, which would have honestly, to me, been
distracting.

The success of Abrams' Star Trek and the welcome Pine, Quinto, Pegg
and
other new actors received from Trekkies will make it easier to
introduce

Shatner into the sequel, Abrams said.

In terms of moving forward, I am open to anything, Abrams added.

I feel like the first movie did some of the heavy lifting that
needed to
be done in order to free us to continue going forward. Maybe there's
less

of a burden and there's going to be more opportunity to work with him
(Shatner).

The Star Trek DVD, set for release in Australia on October 29, is
filled

with extras, including gag reels, three hours of bonus footage,
commentary, secrets behind the costumes and sets and deleted scenes
that

reveal a side story involving Eric Bana's villainous character Nero.

The DVD also includes what is billed as ground-breaking augmented
reality
technology which, through a webcam, allows a 3D holographic tour of
the

Enterprise.

Abrams said the decision to hold the world premiere for Star Trek at
the

Sydney Opera House in April was the perfect launch pad for the movie.

I have been to Sydney before and I loved it the first time, Abrams
told

AAP in a video interview.

This last time it was so surreal. First of all I had never been to
the

Opera House which could not have been more beautiful.

The reception was off the charts. The people were so kind. It was
beautiful, maybe not atypical Sydney weather, but I called my wife and
said 'We might have to move here'.

I am serious. I want to go back not just for professional reasons.
I just

want to go back because it is fantastic.

 'MacGruber'

The season might be over after Will Ferrell wrapped it up in a
 nice bow,
 but
the Saturday Night Live train keeps
truckin'. When the George Foster Peabody Awards were held the
 other day
 in
New York City, it became an SNL news releasing zone. Besides talking
 about
their hunt for new writers and stars, Lorne
 Michaels
talked about movies. Specifically, he told

6e8b382c253723efd The Hollywood Reporter that a big feature film
 for
MacGruber is being considered, and that it would have to be in the
 summer
because we are back in production in the fall. Not this summer, I'd
imagine, since they're still in discussions.

Hello timely spoofs and product placement! You might remember that
 New
 Line

started the quest for a new MacGyver back

 p:/www.cinematical.com/2009/03/16/macgyver-heads-for-the-big-
 screen/ in
March, so naturally it'd make sense to match that with Will Forte's
 MacGyver
spoof. And oh, the product placement that's possible! If you Google
MacGruber, you'll be greeted by a sea of blog posts and clips of
 the
 SNL/Pepsi commercials where the
hero hands in his mixed drink for an obsession with Pepsi products.

But could this be anything other than a short skit stretched way too
 long?
The skits are a silly laugh, but I fear a feature might send it into
 eye-rolling Rob Schneider territory.

Are you primed for an hour and a half of supreme MacGruber action?

 MacGruber~!

I saw it the same weekend Watchmen came out. Mchattie and the two
female leads were all in attendance. There was a qa, but Canuck
sheepishness took over and no one actually asked any questions. In
retrospect, I regret not letting Mr. Mchattie know that that was the
best movie I'd seen him in that weekend.

My wife pointed out that it would work very well as either a stage
play or a radio drama, which is a little ironic.

*pulling up my B5 bootstraps*
Sorry Mr. Worf, if you thought Franklin wasn't a fleshed out
character you must not have watched much Babylon 5. Richard Biggs
(R.I.P.) did an incredible job with the role and he was in a lot of
ways the heart of the show.

Dr. Franklin had a great character arc. Just a few things off the
top of my head:

-His character was defined early. He was one of the best and
brightest but his career was nearly derailed because he refused to
turn over his data on Minbari biology to Earthforce's bioweapons
program.

-The relationship with his father was explored during the show. Both
were strong willed and the friction between them was palpable.
Franklin loved his father and you could see it in his face when he
saw that General Franklin survived a ill planned invasion.

-He ran an Underground Railroad for the telepaths that escaped from
Psi-Corps.

-He was liasion to the Mars Resistance and had a relationshp with
their leader Number One.

-Had more than one real romantic relationship during the course of
the show.

-His perfectionism and workaholic attitude during a time of war lead
to his dependence on stims. The fallout from it lead to his walkabout.

Franklin was a fully fleshed out and very important character.

The reason why we forgot about Dr. Franklin is because he was a

are a few exceptions (Worf, Sisco, Jordy) but for the most part
the black
characters are usually delegated to the role of mysterious

I consider this throwing dirt to tarnish Smith's singular

Here is what is NOT said about Harrison Ford: The five movies he has
made since 2000 (excluding Kingdom) have grossed $53.6 million and
he hasn't had a box office hit since 2000's What Lies

Mr. Murphy, on the other hand has opened 14 movies since 2000 and
his domestic gross per movie is $123.5 million (including Pluto
Nash's $4 million box office). Mr. Murphy has been a top ten box
office star since Beverly Hills Cop in 1984. Who else in the class
of '84 is not only still relevant but still a top-lining first run
movie star?

(For those of you scoring at home, Tom Cruise did not become a top

Since 2000, Ford has appeared in only four movies, none of which

See, you're totally a minis dude. I'm more an RPG kind of guy. I just
finished a year long 4E game, which was ooldes of fun, and now we're playing
something similar to Dying Earth.

Very enjoyable, as well.

I'm finding board games awesome these days. Pandemic is a cooperative game
where everyone is working to fight world spanning diseases. Race for the
Galaxy is a card game where everyone tries to build a space empire before
the game ends.

The $17,500 video game

by Mike Smith

Buzz up!
July 6 1:32 P.M.

Would you pay $17,500 for this?

Think $60 video games are too expensive? You won't hear any argument
from us, but you might from JJ Hendricks, a collector who just paid
a clinically insane $17,500 for an obscure NES game from 1990.

The game in question is an ultra-rare, gold-colored version of
Nintendo World Championships, a cartridge specially produced for use
in a Nintendo-sponsored gaming contest. According to Wikipedia only
26 were created, and Hendricks calls it the Holy Grail of video
game collectors.

The game itself has a time limit of just 6 minutes and 21 seconds
and consists of three short segments from other NES games: Super
Mario Bros., Tetris, and Rad Racer. Players are scored according to
their performance in each game, and their scores are totaled once
the time limit expires. Doesn't sound too riveting to us, but then
somehow we doubt Hendricks is in it for the gameplay.

And while $17,500 might seem a bit much for a collection of ones and
zeroes, Hendricks actually got a bargain: the game was originally
listed on eBay for a cool $25,000.

yes you will probably be alone in that one. the reason I like
Steward is because his character is more human than hal jordan or

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - After an intense months-long
search, Warner Bros. has chosen Ryan Reynolds to play the title
character in Green Lantern, the studio's live-action movie based
on the DC Comics hero.
Reynolds and his representatives entered negotiations for the part
Friday, after the studio held two rounds of screen tests for the
actor, Bradley Cooper and Jared Leto. Justin Timberlake also did a
screen test.
The film is being directed by Martin Campbell and produced by Donald
De Line and Greg Berlanti.
One reason for the lengthy search process was that De Line, Campbell
and the studio each had a different favorite among the finalists,
making it difficult to come to a consensus.
If the deal is completed, it would make Reynolds the only actor to
have played heroes for both Marvel and DC. He recently starred in a
comic-book movie, 20th Century Fox's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, in
which he played Deadpool, also known as the Merc with a Mouth. The
character is being developed for a spin-off in which Reynolds will
star. He also played Marvel's vampire hunter Hannibal King in
Blade: Trinity.
Lantern is Reynolds second stab at a DC Comics hero. A few years
ago, he was attached to play the comic company's speedster The
Flash.

 From the Los Angeles Times

Love triangle on Penguin Island arouses passionate debate
At the San Francisco Zoo, Harry left male partner Pepper for Linda.
Now the blogosphere is enthralled with the scandal, arguing about
whether homosexuality is a lifestyle choice.

 By Maria L. La Ganga

 July 17, 2009

Reporting from San Francisco — The blogosphere has been buzzing for
days over the perky widow who stole the handsome gay guy from his lo
 ngtime partner.

She's been called a home wrecker and the sobriquet that rhymes
with witch, and lambasted as a wretch who only lives for her own
happiness, no matter who gets hurt.

Cherchez la femme notwithstanding, the saga of Linda and Harry and
poor, cuckolded Pepper has ignited a fierce debate about whether
homosexuality is a choice. Even People magazine has called for
 details.

So it goes on Penguin Island at the San Francisco Zoo, where the
news recently broke that Harry ditched Pepper, his male burrowmate
of six years, leaving zookeepers scrambling to explain what one
described as the big philosophical issues.

The love triangle has spurred a nature-versus-nurture debate about
whether animals or people are hard-wired to be heterosexual or
homosexual, said Harrison Edell, curator of birds. There are
people who are trying to draw conclusions from our birds, and I'm
not really sure whether that can be done.

One recent zoo guest posed the other big question about the avian
antics: Is this something that only happens in San Francisco?

The answer to that one, thank goodness, is a lot simpler: No. At New
York City's Central Park Zoo a few years back, Silo left Roy for
Scrappy, a California girl who joined them via Sea World.

The East Coast's unhappy threesome are chinstrap penguins, the
West's are magellanics. Aside from that, the saga's pretty much the
same: Boy meets boy. Boy loses boy. Girl takes blame. Talking heads
 take notice.

Christian website OneNewsNow.com quoted a pro-family advocate on
Thursday who parsed the Harry-Pepper split as proof that nature
 prefers heterosexual relationships.

Matt Barber, director of cultural affairs with the conservative
Liberty Counsel, took a more tongue-in-cheek approach in a column on
 Townhall.com
that ended with a veiled comparison of Pepper and former Idaho Sen.
Larry Craig, who was arrested for homosexual lewd conduct in an
 airport bathroom.

In recent days he has reportedly been spotted waddling around the
zoo's public men's room, skulking in stalls and inexplicably tapping
his flipper. There's even speculation that, as things continue to
spiral, he may consider a run for public office.

Other commentators were more sympathetic to Pepper. John wrote on a
blog called The Friggin Loon that he is heartbroken for the
lovelorn loser and hopes that he finds another male penguin that is
 ten times hotter than Harry!

The blog Queerty.com floated another possibility: Maybe, the
writer posited, Harry is actually bi?

In their six years together, Pepper and Harry were foster fathers to
a couple of abandoned eggs and hatched a chick named Norris.

They lived near Linda and her partner Fig, a kind of Penguin Island
older statesman who controlled not one but two burrows, said
Edell, the bird curator. Fig died in January, and Linda kept them
 both.

For penguins, real estate means a lot, Edell noted, so as far as
penguins go, she was a pretty attractive prospect.

Harry started hanging around. Then he moved in. Linda laid two
fertile eggs. Pepper was left living the bachelor's life, along with
seven other lonely guys on Penguin Island.

Some have argued that Harry and Pepper hooked up because of supply
and demand. And the truth is that there aren't enough females on the
 island -- 21 for the 29 males.

But if that were the only factor, Edell said, there would have been
four same-sex pairings instead of just Harry and Pepper. Today,
 there are none.

We'll be really interested in the next year or two to see if Pepper
pairs up again, and with whom, Edell said. Give me a call in March.

fall of 2009. Last week it disappeared entirely from the Warner Bros. release

Quentin Tarantino's World War II actioner Inglourious Basterds, a pivotal
Weinstein Co. release starring Brad Pitt, debuted gloriously during the
weekend with an estimated $37.6 million in chart-topping boxoffice.

Basterds is touted by some as a make-or-break film for the recently
struggling indie, even though Universal is distributing the film
internationally and will share evenly in any worldwide profit. Sony's sci-fi
thriller District 9 finished second after falling just 49% in its
sophomore session to $18.9 million and a 10-day cume of $73.5 million.

The weekend's other three wide openers bowed softly. Robert Rodriguez's
PG-rated family fantasy Shorts from Warner Bros. rung up $6.6 million for
sixth place; Fox Searchlight's comedy Post Grad registered $2.8 million in
10th, and Disney's sports documentary X Games 3D: The Movie -- slotted for
one week only in 1,399 extra-dimensional venues -- fetched just $800,000.

Among other second-frame holdovers, Warners' literary adaptation The Time
Traveler's Wife fell a modest 46% to $10 million in fourth place for a
$37.4 million cume, while further down the rankings Paramount Vantage's
comedy The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard slid 53% to $2.7 million and a
$11.2 million cume. Disney's Ponyo dipped 32% to $2.4 million with an $8.1
million cume, and Summit Entertainment's youth musical Bandslam dropped
 60% to $890,000 and a $4.5 million cume.

The weekend top 10 films collected $108 million, or 31% more than the top
performers over the same frame last year, according to Nielsen EDI. That
marked a third straight year-over-year weekend uptick.

In a limited bow, Paramount Vantage unspooled comedy The Mark Pease
Experience, starring Ben Stiller and Jason Schwartzman, in 10 theaters and
grossed $3,000, or just $300 per venue.

Freestyle Releasing opened the comedy My One and Only, starring Renee
Zellweger and Kevin Bacon, with two playdates in New York and two in L.A.
 and grossed $60,708. -- a promising $15,177 per engagement.

IFC Films debuted the crime thriller Five Minutes of Heaven, starring Liam
Neeson and James Nesbitt, in a single New York location and fetched a sturdy
 $5,200.

Elsewhere in the specialty market, Samuel Goldwyn/IDP's Paul Giamatti
starrer Cold Souls added 32 theaters for a total 53 and grossed $133,295,
or a so-so $2,515 per venue, as cume climbed to $340,068.

Focus Features' Korean vampire pic Thirst added three playdates for a
 total 17 and grossed $31,400, or a thin $1,047 per engagement, with a $1.8
 million cume.

Key question for me. Are the fighting scenes easy to follow, as in most of
the great Hong Kong martial arts flicks, or, are they nothing but closeups
and nonstop camera shifts, a la, much of the American action fare produced
nowadays (G.I. Joe, Second Bourne movie, Quantum of Solace, etc).

If I can't follow the fights from a distance and *see* the movies I'd have to
pass. I spent half of Thanksgiving Day watching a Bruce Lee marathon, in part
because it was so good (the guy is timeless) but also because it was so nice
to see so fight scenes where one could  *follow* the action.

Korean pop star gets ripped, becomes `Ninja Assassin'

Story by Roger Moore (MCT) - November 24th, 2009

The Korean pop-star-turned- actor Rain (real name Jeong Ji-hoon) is ready for
Hollywood stardom. He's willing to put in the work. He's patient.

It's still not easy to make your mark, as an Asian actor or singer in
America, Rain says. If I do my best, Americans will love me, too! I want to
challenge myself to see where my limit is. If I do my best, over and over
again, I will succeed. I know it.

So what if Speed Racer, the first big Hollywood film the 27-year-old
appeared in, wasn't a smash? He's back, pounding at the door with Ninja
Assassin. He plays — wait for it — a ninja assassin, or rather an
anti-assassin, a former ninja who defends those targeted by ninjas from the
ninjas. And he has suffered for his art.

I had to make my body fit, like Bruce Lee, he says. I trained for eight
months, five days a week, eight hours a day. I ate only chicken breast and
vegetables; no sugar, no salt, none of my favorite foods. It was horrible!

I learned a bit of many different types of martial arts — kung fu, tae kwon
do, tai chi, kick boxing, karate, karate with swords, chains, shuriken
(throwing stars), kusarigama (dagger-chains) , ninja tactics. The stunt men
on the set, they looked out for me. But with those sharp weapons, I could
hurt myself even more easily than they could hurt me.

It took some doing to sculpt the six-hit-albums singer into a lean, mean
ninja machine, the loner Raizo, who left that old world of discipline and
murder behind. The script gets away with a He looks more like a boy band
singer than a ninja wisecrack only because Rain is so ripped. But that
training regimen, those muscles, don't mean he's giving up the day job.

I should be able to do both. I plan to concentrate on both singing and
acting, he says. Always good to have a Plan B, with the chance of trade
publications like Variety (Rain conjures only a mild drizzle as Raizo)
panning the film and his work in it.

But Rain plans to stick with his game plan, pursuing Hollywood work with a
vengeance. He hopes, too, that this work might even attract the attention of
the most famous director back home. The filmmaker he'd most like to work with?

Oh, Park Chan-wook (Old Boy), he says.

I liked Interview with the Vampire despite pipsqueak Cruise as
Lestat (Ann Rice envisioned a young Rutger Hauer). I rather enjoyed
Stuart Townsend's rock star take in Queen of the Damned (a damned

I have just seen Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds and I am
powerfully underwhelmed. The movie it most reminds me of is Spike Lee's The
Miracle at St. Anna. Both movies are bloated and too long and show a
remarkable lack of narrative restraint. But where Anna has made $9 million,
Basterds has made $312 million worldwide.

Thinking maybe it's me, I googled other reviews:

I don't know if I've ever seen a revenge fantasy so willfully messed up,
sometimes offensively so. - Michael Phillips, Chicago Tribune

Clocking in at 2 hours and 32 minutes, it is unforgivably leisurely.
 - Kenneth Turan, Los Angeles Times.

Tonally schizoid and rife with anachronisms (a David Bowie song on the sound
track, out-of-era vernacular), Tarantino's Third Reich folly is utterly
exasperating. - Stephen Rea, Philadelphia Inquirer

All of these things are true and all of them can be said of Anna (with the
 exception of the Bowie song).

Both movies are visually impressive (some of the images in Basterds are
stunning), almost painterly but, in both cases, the heightened cinematography
distracts from the narrative. Both directors have made better movies with
 lesser palattes.

 9 -
I don't remember seeing 9 on anyone's list this year, so I thought I would
give it some props. I just spent the evening watching this film and thought
that it was an interesting rewrite of an old theme with beautiful artwork,
and interesting characters. 9 was born into a post apocalyptic world where
the machines had taken over and killed off most of mankind. Basically
finishing the job that Skynet could not. 9 is a good multi-genre film mixing
post apocalyptic scifi, with a family Disneyesque theme.

 More info here: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0472033/

 Ink -
This was a low budget indie film ($250,000) that was made outside of the
Hollywood system. Ink is about what happens in the dreamworld. When we are
asleep two opposing forces emerge to fight over what we will dream. The light
gives us good dreams, and the incubus that gives us nightmares. The two sides
go to war after a little girl is kidnapped in the dream world by Ink (a
wannabe incubus). This movie is a mix of mystical, and the matrix (there are
some good martial arts scenes). I could see this movie made into a series on
BBC. It is available on DVD and bootleg. (The company said that they are
 comfortable with the downloading.)

 More info here; http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1071804/

 Hardwired -
Hardwired stars Cuba Goodin Jr. as the lead role, Val Kilmer, and a few other
faces that you may recognize in a near future film where the bank bailouts
have failed and the entire world is owned by corporations such as Mc Donalds,
and Microsoft. (Mc Donalds owns the Hoover Dam, and Pepsi owns the moon.)
Cuba plays a man that finds himself with amnesia after a car crash. To save
his life, his sister gives permission for Cuba to have an experimental
operation that places a chip inside his brain.

I wanted to like this film, but there was a lot of tacky elements to it. One
is Val Kilmer's hair. The other is unexplained inconsistencies with Cuba's
fighting skills. I guess with a little tweaking this could be a good
 superhero origin story.

Overall it reminded me of a made for the Syfy channel movie with a higher
budget. The story gave me the feeling that it should have been written in the
1980s. (Like parallel to Robocop.) The special effects looked a bit dated as
well although this movie was made this year. Oh how the mighty have fallen...

 Check out 9 and Ink!

Possibilities include classics such as Ant-Man, the alter-ego of mad
scientist Dr. Henry Pym, and Dr. Strange, the mystical go-to guy whenever
there's an extradimensional threat. Both are connected to The Avengers line
of characters that Marvel had started developing for the big screen long
before Disney made the deal; Iron Man and the Hulk are among the Avengers
 that Marvel already has tapped.

There are about 5,000 more characters, including obscure ones such as
martial arts master Iron Fist from the 1970s and up-and-coming ones such as
the Runaways, a street-savvy pack of teenagers that have become a recent
 Marvel comic-book hit.
