CS>What is EIS? (for Barb)

2006-11-30 Thread M. G. Devour
Welcome Barb! Thank you for asking.

EIS stands for Electrically Isolated Silver, a term that was originated
by a member of the group some time in the last few years in an attempt
to distinguish what we here *mean* when we talk about "CS."

The term colloidal silver is so generic at this point that it is
applied indiscriminately to almost any kind of silver preparation
regardless of how it is made or its characteristics. Everything from
chemical precipitates to suspensions of silver powder in protein gels
are often referred to by the same name, CS.

The kind of product supported by the general consensus of the members
here is made by electrolysis of silver in pure water. There are no
additives or anything to deliberately bind to the silver, thus the
"Isolated." Made this way the true particulate fraction can be
relatively minor compared to the ionic, or truly dissolved, portion,
thus the de-emphasis of "colloidal."

How do I say this... hmmm? For purposes of discussion here EIS is
pretty much interchangeable with "CS," although with a bit more
precision to its definition. Elsewhere, you might or might not find
people familiar with the term at all, yet!

Be well,

Mike D.

  OK Biting:

The Pups have a number of modes available, accessed by operating two
switches.

1] DC output mode. [Straight conventional current controlled DC output.]
Advantages: Works faster, enhances unstable properties of very fresh CS
that may have antioxidant and oxygenating effects through free hydroxyl
anions [Alkaline water?] and enhanced germ killing with free silver ions
there 'before ' they find each other and form stabilized CS [EIS]
Disadvantages: More electrode deposits that 'can' grow over time and
make a feedback loop that throws auto off..off. Very large batches take a
long time and those problems are accentuated, sometimes needing an
electrode wipe off.

2] SWAP output mode [Square Wave Alternating Polarity current controlled
output] Same as DC mode except the electrodes electronically switch
positions every 1 1/2 minutes.
Advantages: Eliminates electrode crud buildup. Enables a higher
probability that very high PPM batches will be successful and nice.
Disadvantages: Takes longer to get to the same place and time is
somewhat less predictable.
Also tends to make more highly particulate EIS..good if you like a strong
TE, not so good if you don't...and the EIS is slightly more stable at
finish.

Note: Using the funnel thingie as a stir enhancer [chimney] on the Thermal
stirrers, stabilizes the EIS as it's being made. Good/Bad ? A matter of
personal opinion. It does come out stronger at the Auto Off conductivity
setting. Conductivity and PPM are not quite the same things all the time.

3] Auto off mode [Works in both DC and SWAP output modes] References
voltage on the electrodes with the conductivity of the water and the
generator turns itself off at a given "PPM" [actually a given conductivity]
Also gives a reference point from which to use a timer to predict PPM in
higher than Auto Off regulated batches. [The Auto Off setting is hard wired
for reliability and not user adjustable. If you want weaker EIS, stop
sooner or dilute it afterwards]

4] Manual mode [Bypasses the Auto off circuits telling the generator to
ignore the turn off command ] Used to make EIS as strong as you like or
use "bad" water in a pinch.

Input: Virtually any power source between 10 and 30 volts, AC or DC will
work and the EIS comes out the same. You'd be hard pressed to not be able
to make CS if any electricity at all is available. Even very low voltages
will make EIS, but the auto off won't work if the output voltage is lower
than the turn off reference voltage. [It turns itself off and manual mode
must be used]

Re: CS>Budwig diet revision- inulin

2006-11-30 Thread bs clayton
from Wikipedia:

Inulin is indigestible by the human enzymes ptyalin
and amylase, which are designed to digest starch. As a
result, inulin passes through much of the digestive
system intact. It is only in the colon that bacteria
metabolise inulin, with the release of significant
quantities of carbon dioxide and/or methane.
Inulin-containing foods can be rather gassy,
particularly for those unaccustomed to inulin, and
these foods should be consumed in moderation at first.
However, given some time, most people can adapt to
consuming fairly high levels of inulin without side
effects.

Inulin is not broken down into simple sugars
(monosaccharides) by normal digestion, so it does not
elevate blood sugar levels, hence, helping diabetics
regulate blood sugar levels.

Inulin is also a highly effective prebiotic,
stimulating the growth of beneficial probiotic
bacteria in the gut. As mentioned, inulin passes
through the stomach and duodenum undigested and is
highly available to the gut bacterial flora. This
contrasts with proprietary probiotic formulations
based on yogurt or milk in which the bacteria have to
survive very challenging conditions through the
gastrointestinal tract before they are able to
colonize the gut.

Some traditional diets contain up to 20g per day of
inulin or oligofructose. Many foods naturally high in
inulin or oligofructose, such as chicory, garlic, and
leek, have been seen as "stimulants of good health"
for centuries (Full study of PubMed 10395609).

Inulin can be found in commerically available products
such as Fibersure from the Makers of Metamucil.
Fibersure is a fiber supplement powder that can be
added to foods or beverages without changing the taste
or texture. It performs well in cooking and baking
applications and can be an easy way to add additional
fiber to the diet through foods and drinks.

Inulin is also used in medical tests to measure the
total amount of extracellular volume and determine the
function of the kidneys ([Reference: MedlinePlus Drug
Information
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/uspdi/202300.html])

Natural sources of inulin

Plants that contain high concentrations of inulin
include:

Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale)

Wild Yam (Dioscorea spp.)

Jerusalem artichokes (Helianthus tuberosus)

Chicory (Cichorium intybus)

Jicama (Pachyrhizus erosus)

Burdock (Arctium lappa)

Re: CS> CS & DMSO:COMMENT

2006-11-30 Thread mborgert
DEAR BROOKS,
I LOVE ALL OF YOUR POSTS, THIS ONE ABOUT MAGNESIUM IS ESPECIALLY INTERESTING.
I HAVE READ MOST EVERYTHING I CAN ON THE INTERNET ABOUT THIS AMAZING MINERAL.
QUESTION. ARE THERE BETTER SITES OR IS THERE DISCUSSION GROUP ON MAGNESIUM???

I STARTED GETTING INTERESTED IN MAGNESIUM AS MY MOTHER WHO IS 94, WAS HAVING
CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE WAS IN THE HOSPITAL 2 WEEKS IN A ROW ALMOST DYING BOTH
TIMES. I STARTED TO RESEARCH IS FOR MY MOTHER-IN-LAW, UNCLES,AUNTS, AND
FATHER-IN-LAW ALL HAVE DIED OF THIS. I NOW HAVE MY MOTHER SOAK HER HANDS IN
EPSOM SALTS 3X DAILY, IN HOT WATER, 20 MINUTES EACH TIME. YOU SHOULD SEE THE
DIFFERANCE IN HER, NO MORE CONFUSION, DIZZINESS,HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE,SHE HAS
REMARKABLE ENERGY ETC. SHE LIVES ALONE AND IS DOING THIS ON HER ON.

I HAVE FRIENDS WITH EXTREMELY BAD BACKS,FUSION OF DISKS,I HAVE TOLD THEM HOW TO
SOAK IN THE SALT BATH, HOW TO MAINTAIN IT ON THE BACK WHILE SITTING. YOU
SHOULD SEE THE DIFFERANCES IN THEM, NO MORE CANES. I ALSO HAVE A FRIEND WITH
THIS SAME PROBLEM WHICH NO ONE COULD HELP HER,SHE IS A 75 YR. OLD RN, I TOLD
HER THE SAME PLUS FOOT INSOLES, I AM A BIG PROPONET OF THESE, IMMEDIATE
RECOVERY BUT SHE HAS A DOWAGER HUMP SO I TOLD HER TO DIP A CLOTH IN THE SALINE
WATER AND APPLY IT TO THE HUMP WITH SARAN WRAP WITH A HEATING PAD WITH ELASTIC
BANDAGE AND TO RUB AGAINST THE FLOOR. I GAVE HER MANY EXERCISES FOR BOTH. NO
MORE HUMP!!! NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS SURPRISED.

ANOTHER QUESTION..IN ALL OF THE ABOVE CASES ESPECIALLY WITH CGF ALL WERE TAKING
CALICUM,JUST CALCIUM ALONE PER DOCTOR INSTRUCTION, DOES CALCIUM, HARDEN THE
ARTERIES AND THE VALVES, AS I READ. IN ALL CASES, THE DOCS TOLD MY MOTHER AND
MOM-IN-LAW, WHO DIED AT 94, THE VALVES WERE CALCIFIED.
CAN THIS BE THE RESULT OF THE CALCIUM???

ANY INFORMATION ON MAGNESIUM IS GREATFULLY APPRECIATED, I BELIEVE IN THE
TRANSDERMAL WAY OF CALCIUM INTAKE, BUT I AM LOOKING A MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE BUT
THE SEAS ARE POLLUTED, SO I USE SALT FROM CAVES,THE BRAND, REAL SALT, I MAKE
INTO A SLURY AND PUT INTO MY HOT CHOCOLATE,UNSWEETENED,WITH MY GREENS I USE 1
TEA. IS THIS CONSIDERED 1000 MG. AND IS IT OK TO DO THIS?

ANOTHER INTERESTING OBSERVATION, I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE THE SIDE OF MY HEAD
CAME OFF. THIS HAPPENED IN 94, AT THAT TIME I LOST ALL OF MY BUSINESSES AND
MYSELF. I WAS ALWAYS A AGGRESSIVE WOMAN BUT I ENDED IN A CLOSET UNTIL A
NEUROPYCH DISCOVERED ME AND TOLD ME I HAD A BRAIN INJURY. I COULD NOT
WALK,TALK, READ, LISTEN TO MUSIC, WATCH TV, NOISE WAS HORRIBLE I TRULY KNOW
THAT PEOPLE WITH STOKES, AND CANNOT COMMUNICATE WITH OTHERS FEEL LIKE. SIMPLE
THINGS LIKE GOING INTO GROCERY STORES WAS A MASSIVE PROBLEM, BUT I OVERCAME.
THE DOCS ALL INSISTED I WAS"DEPRESSED" I STRESSED I WAS FRUSTRATED AND NOT
DEPRESSED, THEY INSISTED I TAKE DRUGS, I WOULD NOT SO I STARTED ON MY QUEST TO
HEAL MYSELF AND I DID.

I NOW FIND OUT, READING THE INFORMATION ON MAG, ALL OF THE PROBLEMS I HAD WERE
A LACK OF MAGNESIUM IF THEY STARTED ME ON THIS AMAZING MINERAL I WOULD NOT
HAVE HAD TO GO THROUGH HELL AND BACK.

THANKS FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE DONE FOR THIS GROUP.

MAY GOD BLESS AND KEEP YOU AND YOUR WIFE.

Hello Marshall,
The amounts of Magnesium involved in this protocol are many times lower than required
to create consequential upsets within the physiology of any but the MOST SYSTEMICALLY CHALLENGED INDIVIDUALS.. Much disruptive and inaccurate information relating to the Calcium/Magnesium relationship has been bandied about by many persons who do not have correct information..and even less research in the matter. For example, with some notable exceptions, most of the general population ingests an EXCESS of calcium...much of it from un-noticed sources in the general food supply. Magnesium is, in most cases, in short supply for insuring good health in the average adult. We do not contend that the proportional relationship between magnesium and calcium is of no consequence.as there is a proven interaction which is important in human health. However, we do contend that the ACTUAL necesary
proportions of SUPPLEMENTAL ADDITIONS (MOST ESPECIALLY OF CALCIUM FRACTIONS)are considerably different from a majority of the popular media claims, and overblown in their specific importance relative to stated exactitudes of percentages. The problem of TOO MUCH CALCIUM is, we seem to find, much more prevalent than too little. The central problem revolves around calcium UTILIZATION..not gross intake. The long-lived bromide about calcium shortages had its inception, primarily, as a result of studies (many quite flawed) relating to osteoporosis conditions manifesting in post-menopausal women.
My short answer to your observation is, simply, that 1000 mg daily of supplemental magnesiumfor adults consuming anything but a nutrition

RE: CS>Silver Puppy generator

2006-11-30 Thread Ode Coyote

TE, not so good if you don't...and the EIS is slightly more stable at finish.

Differences in prices between any generator makers have little to do with
function and product quality.

Hi got Mine about a month ago and yes it seems like the swap setting can
take about
t10 hours dependng on your water quality. In th eDC mode it goes about
5-6 hours. I"m using "Taladwada Distilled water (steam distilled). But
other than that I seem to be having great results.

I received the Silver Puppy generator yesterday, got it set but after 7

set on SWAP- Auto. I tried to email Ode but guess he is busy.

Terry, there is a wonderful site for kefir and this is the link:

http://users.chariot.net.au/~dna/kefirpage.html

Kefir grains traditionally should not be sold only shared but there are people
who do sell them. Dom on his site will also tell you how to make kefir out of
water or fruit juices. He ships to most everywhere.

I do have extra grains and would ship them to you but they are in milk so not
good for water kefir. There are also groups discussing kefir but I do not
belong to any of them. Members do give the grains just for shipping charges.

So true!
But there is more to it.
When I was still working at a health-insurance office, we were told of this

She had severely cut her tongue when licking to moist the glue. The cut was
so severe that it went through one of the the tongue-arteries. She was in
real trouble.

As patients getting pills for under the tongue may know, there are two
arteries underneath the tongue, and they are very vulnerable. These pills
soaked take the medicine right into the bloodstream.

Moreover, have a good look at the contents of this glue, you might prefer
poison.

2006-11-30 Thread Duncan Crow
Hi Deborah,

Although lactobacilli produce gas and I think work faster on
inulin it's the minor probiotic; the major one bifidobacteria
don't. I don't know what causes the gas as it's a complex
situation in the gut. Gas will resolve as the bowel ecology
improves with more bifidobacteria; it takes about 10-30 days.
