I was looking at buying some more Selenium.
Is there any difference between regular 200 selenium
And one that claims it is absorbable.
Is this just hype or are there vitamins out there that
Our body make better use of. How to tell what is true
And what is Hype. Just a quick question if there is
A quick answer. I take the Selenium because at one time
I took too much CS and started to tint my face.
My Wife blames it all on my CS but I could never understand
Why my head would get off color but not other parts of
Body such as arms and legs would not, could this have
something to do with my circulation.

You have plenty of fluids in the underlying tissues more easily
re-hydrated than the outer skin.

I mean..it's WET in there !!!

The oils seal the skin preventing evaporation that's faster than the
natural rate of hydration from underneath.

As a nurse we are taught that glycerin draws fluid out of the underlying
tissues, so yes, it may moisturize the surface but at a cost to those
underlying tissues

Hi Bob,

I take the Selenium because at one time
I took too much CS and started to tint my face.
My Wife blames it all on my CS but I could never understand
Why my head would get off color but not other parts of
Body such as arms and legs would not, could this have

It may have something to do with light exposure... You don't often
cover your face and head, but you do wear long pants and sleeves most
of the time, don't you?

As I recall you were going out of your way to make a pretty high
concentration product? Could you remind us what your recipe was like?

Thanks,

CS New list set up by DMSO list guru

2010-07-10 Thread ZZekelink
I thought someone might be helped by this list---

I set up a Pyrroluria list this evening on Yahoo.
Hope you will join us in the discussion.
Here is the list description.
Please pass this on to any friends you think would be interested.
Thanks!!Garnet
===Pyrroluria Yahoo List

Subscribe: _pyrroluria-subscr...@yahoogroups.com_
(mailto:pyrroluria-subscr...@yahoogroups.com)
The purpose of this list is to share information, experiences and
support each other in the exploration of a little documented condition
commonly called PYRROLURIA . Because heme synthesis is involved some
feel it should be included as a form of Acute Intermittent Porphyria.

This condition is associated with many degenerative conditions and
disorders: Autism, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Fibromyalgia, Mood
Disorders, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Cancer and Heart Disease to name a
few.

Until there is a body of peer reviewed scientific literature to prove
beyond a doubt both the existence of the disease and efficacy of
proposed treatments, such conditions are relegated to the category of
psuedo-diseases and considered fringe by mainstream practitioners and
investigators. With this in mind it is not surprising that patients
resort to the exceptionally talented pool of holistic practitioners for
help with diagnosis and treatment. For their dedication and perseverance
we are eternally grateful.

Thought to result from elevated Kryptopyrrole
[2,4-dimethyl-3-ethylpyrrole] or Hemepyrrole
[3-ethyl-5-hydroxy-4,5-dimethyl-delta 3-pyrroline-2-one] poor tolerance
to physical and emotional stress are associated with the detection of
Kryptopyrrolactam and Hemopyrrolactam in the urine. The symptoms of
excess urinary kryptopyrrole first manifest themselves as behavioral
abnormalities.

Although children tend to be more easily diagnosed than adults symptoms
range from behavioral, drug and chemical sensitivity, mood swings,
depression, sensitivity to light, noise, tactile stimuli, chronic
schizophrenia, pain, seizures, adrenal tenderness on deep palpation,
physical debilitation, paranoia and even certain types of criminal
behavior.

Malvaria,Pyroluria, Pyrroluria, Pyrolleuria, Pyrrole Disorder, Elevated
Kryptopyrrole, B6 Zinc Deficiency are associated terms.

Urinary pyrroles have several names: mauve factor, kryptopyrrole,
hemopyrrole, indole, and hydroxyhemopyrrolenone.

I would say your wife is probably right. I wear short sleeved shirts and
my arms and hands have no discoloring -- just my face and the top of my
head.
The selenium didn't help at all even though the information came from a very
reliable source.
Might help you though--let us know if it does.

Some months ago I read a post that took me to a series of links of a gentleman
who reversed this condition. He documented it with photos. You might want to
do a search as he talked about how he did it.

You might want to check it out.

2010-07-10 Thread Dorothy Fitzpatrick
I think the selenomethionine version is the one you want Robert. The reason
for this is that the body doesn't have to go through the process of converting
selenium into this form which is the form it can actually use. A bit like
using magnesium citrate instead of mag oxide i.e. the body can use the citrate
form much better than the oxide form which it has to convert first. As we age,
we lose the ability or enzymes or both - to convert some substances which is
why - theoretically - we supplement because otherwise, we can have deficiencies
of one sort or another. dee
