Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Search not working
Any ideas how I can resolve this? First of all: check server.log for any hints about about an error happening when you do a search. And scanner.log for any issue during the scan (in particular at the bottom). If that doesn't give any hint, please provide more information: (unfortunately) there are many ways to do searches which do behave differently. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Some WAV files are not detected during scan...
Hello, I have a weird problem I can't explain... I have been running Logitech Media Server on Debian for 10+ years, with about 2,000 albums, mostly WAV, and files up to 24-bit/192 kHz all working just fine. However, I have two albums downloaded from Bleep.com which are both 24-bit/44.1 kHz WAV and which the scanner on LMS does not detect. The files have no meta data as far as I can tell, I have downloaded them multiple times and nothing. The files play fine on a PC with Windows Media Player. Any ideas??? [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Search not working
After more years than I count of 100% trouble free usage, suddenly LMS search has stopped working. I recently updated the Mac from Mavericks to Sierra, which is the only possible cause I can think of. I have tried updating LMS from 7.9.1 to 7.9.2, and doing a clean rescan of the music library, but search still won't work. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Radio streams stopping after a bit
Yep, had already read about needing to enable the Flow setting. Listening to Kate Bushs Before The Dawn and sounds perfect! One thing I was wondering: is there a benefit of transcoding to flac rather than pcm? Also, my sources are already in flac, does it then still decode and recode, given you can set the transcode flac compression? Is there a way to avoid transcoding altogether while preserving flow/gapless? Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Double Scrobbles
Hi Michael Yes, I disabled scobbling in LMS. But, as expected: it stopped scrobbling Same for me... I always used the 'nightlies' and never experiences any problem. Still I have the feeling that the 'double scrobbles' started with 7.9.2. I did not install any other 3rd party scrobbler, at least not as far as I know. The other scrobbling programs on the desktop I run LMS on (such as Spotify, Dopamine player etc) are not running when I play my music on the SB Touch. There definitely must have changed something on my setup but I really have no clue on what possibly causes this. Tonight, the reinstall of 7.9.0 via 7.7.6 seem to work (no double scrobbles)... but I have said that befor so I will check more intensely tomorrow. mherger wrote: > Did you try disabling scrobbling in LMS? > > FWIW: I've been running "the bleeding edge" LMS for years. Glad it helps :) Be aware though that gapless is a bit tricky with CC and UPnP. You have to use the "flow" mode which means the bridge will convert all your files to the same format (pcm,flac,mp3). It takes much more CPU as audio as to be converted to pcm, uP/down sampled then re-converted to the selected format. LMS 7.7, 7.8 and 7.9 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2. Thanks. Hard to say. For me and my acquaintances, podcast listening has never been greater and we are constantly finding new podcasts to listen to (and new podcasts are constantly coming out). My wife has practically stopped watching TV so she can keep up with her podcasts. LMS is a different story. The underlying product has long been discontinued so we're lucky that they allow one developer, Michael, to occasionally work on LMS to keep things working. He has made spotify work and done some work to make podcasts play that had quit playing. Haven't used android, but the free podcast app on my iphone works perfectly. It consolidates 100s of podcast shows, automatically downloads new shows, deletes listened to shows, saves one's place in a show if not finished so you can start where you left off. In short, it functions very well as a podcast manager, at least for use on my iphone, where I do most of my podcast listening while exercising or traveling. *Home:* VBA 4TB (2.4)>LMS 7.9.1>Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* VBA 3TB (2.4)>LMS 7.9.1>Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (ethernet, Radio WIFI) *Office:* Win10(64)>LMS 7.9.2>Squeezelite *The Wild (no internet): *PiCorePlayer 4.0 on rPi 3B+, hifiberry Dac+Pro, 4TB USB (LMS & Squeezelite) *Controllers:* iPhone6 & iPadAir2 (iPeng), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) laptop *Files:* ripping: dbpa > FLAC; post-rip: mp3tag, PerfectTunes; Streaming: Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110215 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

In the meantime I had other random behaviour, even when just playing FLACs. Sometimes it would just skip randomly to the next track. Or it would stop playing. Wiggling the plug no longer causes the unit to reboot, and so far the unit plays back fine. Will do some more extensive tests later, incl. the radio streams where it all started with. On linux you'll need Perl:Linux:Inotify2 installed On pCP you just need the plugin as Inotify2 is installed by defualt (I Think if not can be installed from extensions) Not sure about LMS on other OSes Jeff *Players:* SliMP3,Squeezebox3 x3,Receiver,SqueezeLite-X,PiCorePlayer x3 *Server:* LMS Version: Latest Nightly on Centos 7.5 VM on ESXi 6.5.0U2 on Dell T320 *Plugins:* AutoRescan/BBCiPlayer/PowerSave/PowerSwitchIII/Squeezecloud/Spotty/Player Groups *Remotes:* iPeng9/Orangesqueeze/PC/Jivelite/SqueezeLite-X *Music:* 522GB,1660 albums with 23087 songs by 5204 artists mostly FLACs *Want a webapp ?* See http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?104305-Webapp-for-LMS Jeff07971's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=49290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110258 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Thats a really nice idea - someone adds a 4cd Album and in the middle of the "upload" into the lib the scanner starts to rescan and the last parts of the album is eather not uploaded completly but the scanner finds a incomplete file and would make yome noise into your lib and log and the other parts are missing, cause your smb is slow... cheers another guy with "your" Name :) DJanGo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1516 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110258 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Update library on file system change?
Hi, I'm wondering if there is a way to have LMS update the library instantly as soon as new files are added? I know I can set a time at which the Media Library is rescanned daily but nothing that monitors changes and updates immediately. Thanks for any ideas/answers. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Radio streams stopping after a bit
It sure does sound like a hardware issue. But something else (and very simple) to try switch SB3 to MySB.com (no LMS) and see if it can successfully stream for an extended period without interruption or reboots. toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110166 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Alarm didn't go off!
bpa wrote: > Never rely on just playing an internet stream for an alarm - there are > too many variables that can go wrong. I'm going through a phase of my Radio not picked up my preferred alarm (a BBC radio internet stream.) and launching loud disco music. So far as I can tell - browsing years of forum discussions of this - there is no simple way of changing that default music to something more soothing... But, I did find this thread - https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?77403-Workaround-for-too-loud-fallback-alarm-change-volume/page2 - which offers an easy way of at least greatly reducing the *volume* of that default disco when it does kick in. I've installed the patch, and will see over the next few days if it still works or not! As suggested in many threads, my problem seems to be a mix of a) net stream failures, b) occasional home network glitches, and c) perhaps LMS server wake-up issues on the laptop that runs it. Usually the BBC stream plays fine - and, now being retired! - it's not really a major problem for me if it goes off early, late, not at all, or annoyingly. But I'm one of those "stuff should just work" guys, and it is frustrating that the Alarm function is a tad flaky.
