Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Help with Wav Files
Thanks for your reply. All my tagging is done via dBpoweramp. I did download Mp3tag but it shows my tags as all being RIFF ID3v2.3 so not sure why it is not picking them up on the scan. Must be a missing field of something? Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Help with Wav Files
My guess is that whatever program you used to create the WAV files has written the tags in a format that LMS does not completely understand. This is not uncommon for WAV files as there is no real standard for WAV tags. LMS will read "RIFF" tags written into WAV files. You should be able to fix this using Mp3tag (https://www.mp3tag.de/en/). Open a folder of your WAV files into Mp3tag, verify tags, and save the files. This should write the aforementioned tag format. Run a "clear and rescan" library rebuild in LMS to confirm. If it works, do the same with your remaining WAV files. Another option is to convert the WAV files to FLAC or ALAC both of which have native tag support readable by LMS. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Help with Wav Files
I am new to LMS and I having trouble with LMS detecting WAV files. If I go to say All Artists when I get to the specific track it says empty If I go to Music Folder it will play the track and find and use the metadata. Once one track has been played it will then appear in the albums list etc but there with the duplicate "empty" tracks still showing. I have rescanned and also cleared and rescanned. Any ideas? Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Normalising artist tag characters to avoid duplicates
Ok tx, I was sure that this must have been considered before. Yes I can imagine if this was the default behviour then it could well be disruptive. Maybe if the functionality could just be an opt-in feature, might it be usable? It seems a shame to lose some potential benefits if some work has already been done. mr-b's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10044 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112988 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8.0 & stream stops
Would be good to know which particular streams you are playing. For example FIP is available as HTTP/MP3 and HLS/AAC - Paradise as MP3 and FLAC. Your LMS server.log might have some clues - but might need an increase in logging level for streaming to help. FYI - we play FIP/FIP Monde, France Inter and BBC Radio 4 for hours on end without problems. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8.0 & stream stops
Hello, I'm using LMS 8.0 on Windows 10 PRO ver. 2004. I update quite often to LMS 8.0 latest nightly builds. I found quite recently that the music stream stops (playing FIP or Radio Paradise) very often (may be 5 min, 15 but never plays more than 45/60 min) with the latest versions. I use Daphile players and Squeezelite-X with the same issue (different hardware). The versions I found having this problem are (at least): - LogitechMediaServer-8.0.0-1601030156 - LogitechMediaServer-8.0.0-1601129375 When I revert back to a version I kept from August: - LogitechMediaServer-8.0.0-1598245934 I do not face the problem and the stream is playing without interruption. Any idea? Thanks for your great work ! I will try the setup option -- once I find > the/a remote that works... :-) If it is isn't connecting it still is a UDP problem. Ping uses a special IP packet format so ping working does not mean UDP connectivity. How is pcp/LMS connected to LAN - wired or wireless ? If wireless make sure router allows routing of broadcast/UDP packet between wired & wireless devices. It may be an advanced setting - some routers by default disable this as a security measure against wardriving. When player is plugged in -it broadcast a UDP packet to find all LMS servers on the LAN. All LMS server which "hear" the broadcast - reply with their IP address & LMS port. Is the SLIMP3 on the same LAN segment as the LMS server ? - UDP broadcasts will not cross LAN segments * Check LMS logging to see if UDP packets are arriving at LMS. With no other player having power - enable network.protocol network.protocol.slimp3 and network.protocol.slimproto to INFO - with LMS up & running & power on the SliMP3. - checklog for "HELO"or similar packet from SLIMP3 * if no SLIMP3packet in log - see if you can enable network interface logging (and/or wireshark) in pcp and see iof UDP packets arriving at interface ? Again the only test is by powering on SlimP3 If no broadcast UDP packets arriving at PCP - then problem is in the LAN configuration and/or hardware setup - router, extenders, hubs, bridges etc. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112970 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Normalising artist tag characters to avoid duplicates
Is it possible for the media scanner to ignore common variants of Artist names to avoid duplicates in the Artist list? (I'm sure this will have been asked before but I couldn't find the answer.) We actually did this by default in the past. But it was never good enough: what was an ok solution for some users was considered a bug for others. Therefore we decided at some point that the user should do his homework and we'd read the tags as they are... For example normalising "The", &, 'and', punctuations and case variants would prevent these from all being listed as different artists: Ignoring a leading "The" actually is a feature that still exists. But what about the band "The The"?... :-) Yes I know I could spend (even more) time with mp3tag but it'd be really handy to have an LMS scanner option to do this automagically. Magic is great when it is the way you want. But to get it the way everybody wants is the hard part. It just doesn't work. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
