[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS not playing next track with castbridge
Hello everyone, I'm using lms on my unraid server into a docker container. I control it with squeezer for android. Regardless of what source (YouTube, mp3, etc), when I start a song, it never end and play the other track. Looking at the player in squeezer, let's say the song is 3:44, the player goes beyond like 4:15 and continue. On the server, it goes at 0sec remaining, then 1 and loop. I'm playing directly to a Sony amp str-dn1080. I hadn't seen earlier versions of this skin, but I'm trying this one, and it could be useful, especially on systems that are incompatible with the Material skin, such as older Android devices. One issue I've seen is that the cover art displayed in the Now Playing part of the display often belongs to the previous track. The thumbnails shown in the queue are correct. More potential users might be aware of this skin if the release announcement were in the Third Party Software forum, instead of the LMS forum. LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS. by the way, TALB is the tag field name for album title for mp3 files tagged in mp3tag (and I presume this is the name of the mp3 ID3v2.0 tag field for album title in general). tell me what steps to follow to do an "advanced search". I have material, I have lots of FLAC files (ripped from dbpa) and mp3 files (tagged with mp3tag). And many have comment tags. I'm happy to do some testing on my end, but all I can see to do is click on "my music", click the search icon (magnifying glass), and enter some text (for example, something I know is in a comment tag). no, didn't see this, but this cannot be true, as i've only have 25 files with description tags and 85.000 with comment tag. The advanced search only found description tags. Wifi6 is a big problem with the SB Radios, and it does not have to be your router but interference from a neighbor using wifi6. The symptom on the Radio is it will connect to WiFi for a while and then disconnect, and a reboot will be a temporary restoration. However, I am not sure that is the source of your problem. I have a Asus wifi6 capable router. I have turned off smart connect and use separate 2.4 and 5 SSID. For the 2.4 band, I turned off wifi6. My radios and touch use 2.4 and any new device uses 5 band. If it's a new/different Router/Wireless Access point then check their settings... I use Draytek stuff and it allows wireless clients to be isolated from wired clients (Isolate LAN) and same SSID wireless clients to be isolated from each other (Isolate Member). I use these setting for my Guest Network so visitors cannot see or access any NAS or other servers on my LAN. Ahhh... just seen your latest reply - Zenwifi... So a quick look at the manual, the second setting above (Isolate Member) is in the Zen configuration pages - Advanced Settings/Wireless on the Professional tab - a setting called "Set AP Isolated", make sure this is turned off, not sure if that encompasses isolation from LAN clients as well though. As mentioned multiple DHCP servers could cause issues, check each Zenwifi device and make sure only the main router is set to DHCP Other things I can think of... Maybe split 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz into separate SSIDs, some older devices can't handle having both 2.4 and 5 on the same SSID. Some Routers/APs have a smart connect setting which directs new clients onto a webpage before allowing full access - can't see if that exists on the Zen stuff, but if it does you would know by connecting web browser enabled device to the wifi for the first time... Obviously Squeeze Players wouldn't be able to take you to such a webpage to complete the access process, so sit there half-connected in limbo. There's been issues with Squeezebox Radios connecting to wifi 6, have a look or search in the Radio forum - there's posts in there that indicate what settings need to be adjusted in the access point - might give you some ideas to try. It seems like Squeezebox issues with Zen Wifi is common place and normal, and many people have these issues. Looking now to see if there are any solutions. I always thought that WiFi6 was all about 5G which squeezebox is not concerned with. Some WiFi6 implementations are known to cause problems with the very old firmware/drivers in SB boxes. Search here for WiFi6 for things that others have tried tried to do to make make them work together. Broadly ... disable some WiFi6 features until it works but does not break your whole house WiFi. For example: Is it a WiFi6 access point? Do you have more than one access point? Is the access point the same device that you used to test the ethernet? Could there be more than one DHCP server in the network? Did you select "Save logging settings for use at next application restart" on the logging screen. Anyway ... as I said earlier, the change is dynamically applied so no need to restart LMS. Whatever I do with the log settings though they are not persistent and in fact do not seem to take effect. Right, I retried the setting log levels, its clear they did not persist before, but there was no result from the log when I tried to connect several times. So I'll try a wired connection. (Its right next door to a connected router so I don't think signal level is an issue.) . ... And it works perfectly, So back to wireless, and ... it doesn't. Bother. Ip address was the same wired or non-wired. no, LMS is showing the exact TAG as it was used by the tagging program. So, as i'm using mp3tag, it is showing 1:1 the same. So, it's clear, you're not using mp3tag for tagging CHANGE THIS! :-) No, just kidding. The point i'm trying to make, as mp3tag uses the ALBUM tag instead of the TALB tag, the TALB tag is nowhere in LMS but LMS finds the ALBUM tag. Why? AS it is against the "standard". so why NOT doing such "well known" exceptions with other TAGS also? because of an advice of Michael Herger, i'm opening a new thread. I have problems or do not understand the intention of a advanced search for Comment TAGs. In the search window, it's called "Anmerkung" (german for Description). And indeed, it's searching for the "Description" TAG, which is odd, because it's not widely used. My expectation was/is, that i can search for the widely used comment TAG. It's easy reproducable. If i use the extened search capabilities. There is a field called "Anmerkung" (in german). And if i have a flac file which has a TAG "Description" filled out (i have a few) than i can search for those content. It is NOT searching for the COMMENT tag.
