Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Logitech Media Server 8.3.0 released
Thanks for the fix Michael. I installed the 8.3.1 nightly and that starts up just fine. Great! Thanks for the report! Does anyone know how it works with nightlies and final release versions? I found the 8.3.1 here: https://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=8.3 What I'm wondering about is where one could find a final release? https://www.mysqueezebox.com/download And are there disadvantages of staying on the nightly? The 8.3.x is considered the stable branch. Only bug fixes should go in there. So there's little risk a 8.3.1 build would break. There are other Mac issues to iron out. Once I've figured those out I might actually release 8.3.1. Right now 8.3.0 is a bit of a pain to use on Mac, with different issues on different macOS or hardware versions... ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Hi Michael, the server started now. It does give the following warning, Ok, that means that the old Perl (which is still available on your system) would still work. I'm going to change the installer to use that instead of the custom Perl in case of a macOS 10.x Your issue is different from the on others have reported, where they have to fix the executable's signature. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Most recent MacOS update broke LMS?
Does this mean that part of the build/release process will have to be outside of Github? It has never been there - yet. I was considering moving to Github, but the Windows and Mac builds are painful... Ralphy is working on a more open Windows build. Hopefully this will allow us to have a more standard build pipeline. The Mac builds will need a lot of work. We're working on the first step, to basically get LMS working on latest macOS. But some of the surrounding tools like the PrefPane are more than a decade old. That should be overhauled/replaced. But signing would still be a problem. You can integrate Github actions with external builders. A signing system is super sensitive. I would never be allowed to access this from outside the corporate network. ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
