I just setup LMS->Squeezelite->PulseAudio->PAREC->ICES w/ metadata on a
linux box, the handful of options, including the bash/curl commands to
pull song/artist to update metadata is listed.

Net results, LMS stream gets rebroadcast with metadata to a streaming
radio setup.

Perhaps you gave permission to the binary of the older LMS but not the
newer one? And your configuration is saved between re-installs.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS no longer imports MusicIP headers after reinstalling

2021-03-22 Thread Matt Drown

I'm not a MAC person, so can't validate, but the error message you are
getting is saying that the LMS process can't connect to the
localhost:10002 server. Obviously the server is operational, because as
you've mentioned it works from your web browser when you go to it
locally with http://localhost:10002/.

So some firewall or security policy is stopping your LMS application
from connecting. On linux, this could have done with SELINUX policies,
on the Mac is there any additional security software you've installed
that you need to grant permission with?

FYI:

Installed the musicip plugin, did full scan of library, it bailed during
muscip import phase of the scan after about 3k tracks with this error in
the scanner.log:

Code:

FYI, on my install, "/usr/lib64/perl5/Slim" doesn't exist after and
install, and I setup a link to "/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/Slim" which
is in the RPM.

Works fine in 8.1.2 on centos8 for me. Why are you trying to "import
headers" into MusicIP. With Sugarcube installed, you DO NOT NEED TO
INSTALL the MusicIP plugin.

I have Spicefly Sugarcube 5.22 installed.

Uninstalled, cleaned out perl dirs from install tests, reinstalled rpm,

Though scans still fail, which is expected as you haven't made any
changes to the DBD module or the code.

SQUEEZEBOXSERVER[31924]: 3. RUN THE .TAR.GZ VERSION OF LOGITECH MEDIA

Re-running the buildme/install doesn't fix it.

This is perl5.16 on Centos7 linux. I assume this is a "require"

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Issues with scanning new music

2020-01-12 Thread Matt Drown

My, very short, experience is that scan for new doesn't actually remove
things. And doing a full scan doesn't always either. My method has
been point the server at a different directory, do a new scan, validate
0 files, point back at normal, do a new scan.

This appears to do a full rebuild of the database properly for me, ymmv.
I have only been using LMS for about two months.

I'm running on a Linux server, and running the nightlies builds.

Maybe file creation times are wrong, or in the future, so the scanner
re-adds?

In my case, on the default skin I couldn't click through on genre's and
get the list of actual files with the genre tags. With the material
skin I could identify the files and correct them. This may not help
you, my apologies, after re-reading your original post. If you are
looking for the location of playlist files that are showing up, have
have no content, it may help.

If you have cue files this post #4 explains the TWO settings to adjust
to ignore them -
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?101047-Delete-ALL-playlists
- mentioned how to turn off "cue sheets" being used for playlists.

-
If you want to keep the CUE sheets, just go to Settings > Advanced >
File Types and enter "cue" (without quotes) under both "Disabled Audio
File Extensions" and "Disabled Playlist File Extensions". You'll
probably then have to run a full library scan to see the effects this
change-

Yep, no need to empty it again.

I've also discovered that when I switched to the material skin, I was
able to track down the exact files causing my genre issues. Does
something show up there if you switch to material skin, then playlists,
and then click on any playlists, you should be able to get some info
about it.

I recently fought with genre's being cached even after updating files,

files out of library directory temporarily, clean& rescan, validate that
your library is empty from ui, move them back in, and clean

YMMV, but it's a short test
