Thanks I will try that. Does it still use MusicIP fingerprints and do I
need to do the "MusicMagic server" scan at

Looks promising

The tracks I want to use MusicIP have fingerprints. The other folders in
my library that I don't want to use MusicIP I don't scan. I will look
into filters. Are they implemented in MusicIP or LMS or both?

The mixable songs are 24494 and total songs are 24500
There are in fact over 5 tracks in my library but I confine MusicIP
to FLACs in specific folders

I don't care if the numbers don't jibe if it does not have an impact on
how MusicIP works on my system. Because of the discrepancy I have tended
to to a clear libbrary and rescan. However recently I have started using
Dynamic Playlists3 and a Clear Library/rescan wipes out some playlists
I create for some reason

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS scan (quick vs long) and MusicIP

2022-11-17 Thread SlimChances

I wonder if this is a bug with the scanner for LMS. If I scan my library
using the quick option(Look for new and changed media) it gives me a
larger number of MusicIP results than if I scan with the long option
(Clear library and recan). The latter scan reflects the results of a
MUsicIP scan. All the pictured scans were done withing a half hour with
no changes to my library. I have noticed this occurring for years
through many versions of LMS, Does it matter or effect how MusicIp is
implemented by LMS?First pic is a quick scan and next is long scan and
last is MusicIP scan

For clarification

1) can't access local library from player. player says to install LMS
from mysqueezebox
2) can access and play local library on same player from the web
interface
3) volume can't be controlled from web interface but other controls can
4) community firmware is installed
5)updated LMS to latest 8.3 version

This happened after I changed Firewall settings, but was working for at
least a day after those settings were changed. I will try disabling the
NFT firewall and re-enabling the UFW firewall and see if that makes a
difference, but I would really like to use the geo-nft firewall

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Can't control players except through web interface

2022-02-26 Thread SlimChances

I recently made firewall changes adapting 'geo-nft
https://github.com/wirefalls/geo-nft'
(https://github.com/wirefalls/geo-nft) to limit traffic to my PC from
geographic regions prone to hacking/malware. I suspect this is the
reason I am having difficulty, which started 24 hours after I set up the
firewall rules thus

Code:

# Accept LMS on port 9000. tcp dport 9000 counter accept comment
"Accept LMS on port 9000"

  # Accept LMS on port 9090.
tcp dport 9090 counter accept comment "Accept LMS on port 9090"

  # Accept LMS on port 3483.
tcp dport 3483 counter accept comment "Accept LMS on port 3483"

In any event I can no longer control players (my touch and radio)
except through the web interface and this does not allow for volume
control (that appears to work on the player)> The player says that I
have to download LMS from MYsqueezebox as it can't connect to the server
(and my library). This I can do using the web interface.I do have a
current version of LMS. The players can access Mysqueezebox for internet
radio just not my local library (but it will through the web interface.
I hope this made some sense as I am not quite sure what to do to fix
this, any help would be appreciated

I have quite a few of Erland's plugins and they work on LMS 8.01. The

Is it possible that the file paths for the tracks in the m3u playlists
has changed with the hardware change. You can check by opening one of

Yes that was the source of the problem. I had checked Preserve File

I changed the setting recently

That is probably the problem. I downloaded the album yesterday but it
shows file modification in 2018. If I just modify the track titles again
hopefully that will change the modification date.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Newly added album not showing under New Music

I have run the scanner a couple of times but one album (Behold by

shows up under New Albums, Artist, Album, Music Folder etc but not New

Anyone know how to fix this?

I had removed from mysb.com but it is back again. I will try again.
Trouble is the player shows as connected on Client Cleanup and it
doesn't allow me to remove it. Although I had renamed it to make it easy
to distinguish from my other player it seems to have reverted to the old
name.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] two instance of the same player

I think this was the result of trying "Squeezebox for Kodi" which I have
discontinued use of. I have two instances of the same player in my LMS
web interface. At one point while playing music on one player it
apparently switched players and the music abrubtly stopped until I
switched the player back again. I tried deleting the extra player in
MySqueezebox.com where it also appeared. how do I get rid of it
permanently?

I wonder if it would help to delete your cache file. I have done this in
the past to resolve LMS problems but can't say if it will work for you,
but it seems you have nothing to lose, if you are planning to ditch the
SBs. Cache will rebuild on the next reboot of LMS. First stop LMS. On my
linux computer I do this by issuing command in terminal

Code:

sudo service logitechmediaserver stop

followed by my password.
Then go to your cache folder. On my Linux Mint PC it is found at
/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache
You will need root privileges to delete it

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Migration of LMS installation to another machine

2019-03-12 Thread SlimChances

There are a few threads explaining this but basically :

Go to Settings/Information to find the location of
the prefs folder.
That's what you'd need to transfer. Just make sure you remove path
definitions in the prefs files. And in the case of server.prefs remove
the server_uuid value, too. Otherwise your devices might get confused.

I had that note tucked away in my documents somewhere. I am not sure if
you need to change much in terms of path definitions unless you have
trackstat installed

I use MIP GUI in Wine and use the archive feature. I have been able to
transfer fingerprints with no problem to new installs with the same
music files. You do need to reload the archived directories into MIP Gui
again but it only takes a quick scan of a few minutes (I have 2
tracks in MIP)

my local files but I am not able to remove or add plugins. I copied the

of my plugins(Dynamic Playlist,Multi Library, SQL Playlist, MusicIP,What

sure if that is related to LMS version

Settings say plugin directories
are:/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins,
/usr/sbin/Plugins, /usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Plugins

When I navigate to /usr/sbin/Plugins there is neither a folder or even a
file by the name Plugins. When I navigate to
/usr/share/squeezeboxserver/Plugins the folder appears to be a short cut
and clicking on it yields an empty folder

I can see the library on the player but I do not understand how to play
it. If I select it gives me the option of "using" the library but this
does not seem to change the My Music selections. For example Folders,
Dynamic playlists, Custom Browse do not prevent me from choosing the old
library albums/songs and I do not see an selection "Classic Rock" that I
can just play. I do have Erlands plugins on my LMS so I guess I could
just as easily create a Classic Rock dynamic playlist.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] How to Save Advanced Search Library so it is playable

2017-05-07 Thread SlimChances

I am trying to use the Advanced Search function to create a library or
search that I can play from my player. I have created such a library
(Classic Rock-Flac) and I see how to play it from the web interface by
going back into Advanced Search and choosing past searches(Classic
Rock). However I don't get how to select and play that part of my
library from the player itself. If I save the search as a library it is
visible but not playable on the player. If I save the search as a "saved
search" I have access through the web interface but I do not see it on
the player.

I noticed a setting to disable cross fade between tracks at different
sample rates (in Player Settings under audio tab) that I never noticed
before. I had had it set at "no" hopefully it will now take care of the
issue. I realize now that because I am now using "Don't Stop the Music"
I am now getting mixes of both Flac and MP3s which I didn't get before.
This probably explains why only recently did I notice the static bursts.
