Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Frozen, Crashing...
is it possible to actually write and run Perl scripts using the perl executables shipped with LMS? That's on Windows? Unfortunately no. But could you please summarize the issue you're still facing? I see from your logs that https lookup would fail, but then LMS would go back to http - which seems to be working? -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Frozen, Crashing...
Hey Michael, is it possible to actually write and run Perl scripts using the perl executables shipped with LMS? This problem is driving me nuts. I wonder if I can start debugging by writing my own perl scripts to fetch the files that are failing, to see if I can reproduce the problem. Installing a seperate Perl runtime kinda defeats the object, unless it too fails. I've never written in perl but am willing to learn. --- https://ctproduced.com < Creed Taylor/CTI/KUDU http://markcathcart.com/about Running LMS Server, currently 7.9.3 on Headless WIN10 System; music on Netgear ReadyNAS; Transporter(Living Room)+Duet Controller; Squeezebox Touch(Master Bedroom), (2x)Boom(Office, Patio), Radio(Guest Bedroom), Classic(garage), Duet(basement). One being my personal laptop, and the other a server permanently networked via NORDVPN. I try installing on those as clean installations, nothing copied from the existing LMS. All three systems have no problems with browser accessing the files, everyone of them fails with LMS. The only common thing among the three systems is they all go through the same cable modem. Two of them connect to a switch which is connected to the modem. The one that runs NORDVPN is connected to the cable modem directly. The two that connect via a TP-Link switch use the common DNS used everywhere except via NORDVPN which provides its own DNS. Remember, thats three different Windows 10 systems, none of which are having any other issues and all three can access the files by browser. Any clues welcome! [Quick edit for additions - assorted Players will connect fine to MySB; no network issues on the Win machine.] I had a work problem involving an https: texting website. Turns out they retired the security system TLS1.0 and 1.1 in favour of TLS1.2. The fix was to update OpenSSL to 1.0.2u. As the symptoms were vaguely similar, I copied libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll to the LMS folder, restarted, and the problem went away. I'm on 7.9.2. The DLLs can be downloaded by googling "Fulgan OpenSSL" and finding the Win32 version 1.0.2.u Newer versions may not be compatible. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Frozen, Crashing...
I'm still puzzled why my LMS auto-updated from 7.9.1 to 7.9.2, but not to 7.9.3 . Auto updates happen on released versions, or on nightlies if you decide to install a nightly build. But not from stable to nightly. 7.9.3 hasn't been released as "stable" yet, though it's probably more stable than 7.9.2... -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Yup, same problem here. Server runs on Windows 10, headless, no display attached. Windows update did a reboot and now the server fails the same as the original post. As Thread Starter, is it possible for me to edit the Thread Title to add "Port 9000 Unavailable" to it: there are now multiple threads addressing the same curious phenomenon, seemingly solved by installing 7.9.3. I'm sure I've done a Tread Title edit before, but now don't see how to do it. On this new machine I installed - just a couple of months ago - 7.9.1. No idea how it changed to 7.9.2 in the meantime But I've now downloaded 7.9.3 and will upgrade. In the meantime, I tried something I had mentioned above - the CleanUp option of Preferences and Caches. That seems to have fixed the problem; and I seem to have been able to rebuild all my prefs etc etc pretty easily. I'm just doing a media rescan, and then I'll update LMS to 7.9.3. So my Win10 notification area now shows the LMS icon greyed out, and reading (on a hover) "LMS Stopped". Right click on the icon, and then "Start LMS" gives a briefly flashing icon and then "LMS Running" with a solid icon. However, trying to open the Web GUI again gives "Unable to connect. Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at 127.0.0.1:9000." Very odd. I'm wondering whether to Uninstall / Reinstall .. Just an additional thing Looking at LMS Control Panel>Diagnostics, I see this: "Logitech Media Server is running but can't be contacted on port 9000." and in the LMS panel of that page I see: LMS - Running IP - (correct) Port 3483 (slimproto) - Failed Port 9000 (HTTP) - (blank) Port 9090 (CLI) - Failed LMS 7.9.1 (1522157629) Win10 Control: Web GUI; sometimes OrangeSqueeze on Android phones / pads Machines / devices are in France, in two locations. a) Sagem Livebox Music: Internal HDD (FLAC music; mp3 voice), Desktop 3 x Touch - 2 wireless, 1 LAN. I can't get the LMS web GUI to open at all - "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at ..9000" - so I can't get into LMS Settings.. Any other way of finding that info? Also, up until this morning, everything was working fine. Any mileage in running a CleanUp via LMS Control Panel > Advanced ? Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Frozen, Crashing...
A lot of services now require https support - https support in 7.9.1 was not great. I think old https support is the issues causing "error fetching RadioPlayer BBC data while playing so try fetching again" If https support is not up to date - strange issues can occur. What version of IO::Sockets::SSL do you have - look in WebUI Settings/ Information ? It should be at least 2.* and preferably higher than 2.002. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112756 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Frozen, Crashing...
Last night I ran a BBC radio stream on a Radio via LMS 7.9.1, no problems. But this morning, while the radio stream was still running, my browser (F'fox) won't connect to LMS, and no other player will connect to LMS. Tried a few re-boots, but no joy. Windows tells me LMS is running, but if I try to stop it I get this message: "Stopping LMS failed. Please see the Event Viewer and Contact Support. Opening LMS Control Panel is odd too - I can't get it to open as Admin, and I can't use the Control Panel to stop or start LMS - "not responding" Here's a server log extract, accessed via the Control Panel. The last couple of lines are then repeated several hundred times, up until a time stamp of a few minutes ago: Plugins::BBCiPlayer::BBCOnAir::__ANON__ (236) error fetching RadioPlayer BBC data while playing so try fetching again [20-08-13 23:08:24.2244] main::init (387) Starting Logitech Media Server (v7.9.2, 1578996832, Tue Jan 14 12:09:46 WEST 2020) perl 5.014001 - MSWin32-x86-multi-thread [20-08-14 01:12:53.3627] Slim::Networking::SqueezeNetwork::Players::_players_error (377) Unable to get players from SN: Error reading headers: Server closed connection without sending any data back at /Net/HTTP/Methods.pm line 306. ...propagated at /Net/HTTPS/NB.pm line 264. , retrying in 900 seconds [20-08-15 00:10:53.0511] Slim::Networking::Repositories::__ANON__ (146) Failed to fetch https://repos.squeezecommunity.org/extensions.xml: Connect timed out: Bad file descriptor [20-08-15 00:10:53.0517] Slim::Networking::Repositories::__ANON__ (149) https lookup failed - trying plain text http instead: http://repos.squeezecommunity.org/extensions.xml [20-08-15 00:10:53.0693] Slim::Networking::Repositories::__ANON__ (146) Failed to fetch https://repos.squeezecommunity.org/extensions.xml: Connect timed out: Bad file descriptor Any clues welcome!
