Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] NAS Disk Mount error......media folders empty
I can now officially confirm that the problem is solved. Just did another nightly update and the mounted NAS directories are fortunately still there and accessible :-) Solution was described above. Only small problem left is that I can't see my PcP under windows anymore all other network devices I can see (NAS, VUPLUS, Router etc) brewie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69925 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115935 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] NAS Disk Mount error......media folders empty
OK; I think I found the issue: I have recently changed my NAS password to a more complex password by using special characters. Looking in the boot record I found that it took the last few characters of my password into the "options " field ; xxx,uid=1001,gid=50,vers=3.0 To be able to use special characters in this field you have to install a special extension: cifs-utils.tcz After I installed this extension a reboot went flawless and had no disk mount failure anymore. I'll check if this worked with the next "nightly". But I think this was the problem. So far: thx for all the help. brewie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69925 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115935 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Did another update today... same issue again. NAS mount was lost. I changed the Vers from 3.0 to 2.0 (just to do a change), remonted the disk succesfully and everything was working fine again. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] NAS Disk Mount error......media folders empty
I use the latest pcP version and there was no power outage (100% sure). The Synology NAS is not rebooting either, so nothing can get out of sync here. This morning I updated again to the latest LMS version (8.3.0 - 1644703639) and it happened again that it lost the music directories on my NAS. In fact it starts scanning the NAS actively again and deletes the entries that were there before.after the scanning all NAS entries are empty. So I did the usual thing: I went to the LMS "Setup Network Disk Mount" and changed from vers=2.0 to vers=3.0 (just to have a difference) and mounted the disk again. Then I went to the server basic settings and made sure that the directories of the NAS were back visible again and started a new scan from there. Now it is adding the music files again and everything is ok. Something is not running correct here. don't know what is causing it but with each upgrade I somehow loose the diskmount it seems. thx brewie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69925 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115935 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Assuming you are using a farily recent pCP. There is really no way for that to happen, except to accidentally change it while you had a mounting error. The likely cause was a mounting error due to a power outage. The NAS will boot much slower than your pCP device and you will end up with a mount error. And while investigating you accidentally changed it. With a synology nas, the network wait timeout of 30 is quite a bit too small. If you have a space in the field (e.g. after the comma) try taking it out. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] NAS Disk Mount error......media folders empty
Under Setup Network Disk Mount I see: Enabled: flagged Mount point: /mnt/diskstation IP adress: my ip adress for my NAS xxx.xxx.xxx.xx Share name: music Share type CIFS Username: my NAS username Password: my NAS password options: uid=1001, gid=50 max wait is 30 When i set the network mount it says network mount was successful What is strange is that you need to set the same under basic settings in LMS again..why is this required. can't this be automatically handed over? Language: xx Name of the medialibrary: diskstation Medialibrary: /mnt/diskstation/ music is flagged brewie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=69925 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115935 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] NAS Disk Mount error......media folders empty
If the mount command is failing then it will not be able to access the music files - which implies that the playlists etc are not on the NAS (or at least not at that mount point). The NAS could be blocking it (access rights) or you probably have incorrect parameters in the mount command. What do you see in the pCP configuration screen?
