I am getting this problem with no sound from Tidal.

New Tidal premium account, works fine on Tidal app and website.
Entered Tidal account details on mysqueezebox
Running nightly 7.9 LMS on Windows server with Tidal v1.2 plugin
activated
LMS reports all good with connection to mysqueezebox
End points are either SBT or SqueezePlay on Windows pc
SBT firmware v 7.8.0-r16754
Changed player to Audio setting in LMS to Proxied Streaming
Under Tidal on SBT interface changed Streaming Quality to FLAC or MP3
Tidal navigation and track selection all works, the track looks like it
is playing, but it is silent
I checked the LMS server log in Debug for Tidal and the track url is
shown, copy and paste this into a web browser and the music plays, but
not on SBT

Have I missed anything? 
Any suggestions welcomed

It's now working. Not sure if it had anything to do with it but I
changed account from Premium to HiFi, checked again and there was sound.

It should be working. Did you check server.log for any hint about the 
failure?

Hi Michael

Today I ran a TIDAL playlist for more than 7 hours (more than a hundred
songs) and it went to the end, so I think we can check this one off.

I ran into some stuttering at track 76 and onward. I had to pause these
songs, first just a minute, but later trouble I paused for longer.
Eventually the problem went away and I was able to stream the rest
without any hick-ups ... but I think this problem belongs in a different
thread.

Just horrendous buffering from tidal. Even with streaming through the
server. Using the native app is just as bad so it's tidal.
My daughter has seen a record player at a friend's house and wants one
because it always works!

I'm also having this issue since about a year or so, but the last few
months it has been coming a lot more often. Very annoying, making
iPeng+Mysqeeezebox+Tidal unusable. When this happens I also get the
"Invalid phone number or password" when trying to login into the Tidal
app from mysqueezebox.com. I notice that it happen more frequenctly
between approx 18 - 20 CET. Living in Sweden.

Glad that you guys (Michael) are onto this... sounds like Tidals help is
needed.

I had to implement caching at work a few years back to stop us
overloading zendesk's APIs and suffering badly. I'm a Java architect by
trade so I was looking at ehcache and redis. there's always memcached to
play with.
Not sure if any are useful here, all depends on the calls. Happy to chat
it through somewhere if you want an opinion

I still haven't really heard back from TIDAL about the rate limiting 
issue. As long as that's not fixed I wouldn't expect anything :-(.

Hi Michael

Sorry for my impatience. I thought this wasn't the only issue ... it
works today.

To answer my own question(s) : Opening LMS in a browser and with the
TIDAL plugin installed, TIDAL shows up in the list of APPS. Click on it.
Inside it asks if you have a TIDAL account. Click on it and a new
browser-tab shows up, with login to Mysqueezebox (forget about TIDAL for
a second). Login to Mysqueezebox with that password. Immediately
hereafter inside Mysqueezebox you'll be asked for your TIDAL credentials
- enter your TIDAL password here.

In other words although trying to setup TIDAL, all it's magic is
happening inside Mysqueezebox and you need to be logged in here first.
If this doesn't work, then it's what Michael Herger is pointing at, we
need external help.

Please add me to the list of people that get this error message.

I've reset passwords on mysqueezebox.com (msb.com) - and reinstalled
TIDAL there.
I've reset my TIDAL account password also. The two passwords are not the
same.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the TIDAL plugin in LMS (while
restarting LMS in the meantime).

The problem persist, now on the 3rd day. I am out of options how to get
this to work.

Is there anyone who can describe a step-by-step approach that will
work?
In how many places do I have to enter the accounts and passwords? - and
which ones go where?

I have a piCorePlayer - do I also need to add the accounts here? ... and
... when the player reach out for TIDAL, does it go through msb.com ...
and, which TIDAL password is required, the msb.com password which then
forwards everything, or the TIDAL account directly?

Ah, so do you think the problem might snowball? We tried to play a big
playlist and hit the issue this morning. But the system tries to play
each track and hits the error for each one, which is triggering the rate
limiting?


Not being able to sign in to mysb.com is independent from not being able 
to play (but obviously not being able to sign in to mysb.com would fail 
playback, too). See my posting from a few days ago.

I guess your LMS and yourself tried so many times you triggered the rate 
limiter. You're only given a limited number of signin attempts per hour.

Just wanted to report that my lms also informed me that my tidal`s login
and password are incorrect.  I do have valid hifi account on tidal.  I
did not change any settings before this happened .  I was just listening
to tidal and suddenly it refused to authorise my login.

I do not know if it is connected but I am also unable to login to
mysqueezebox.com.  I tried many times and it just keep rejecting me.

Hey there,
looking at Michael's comments it's not you and not something you can
fix, this is a problem between the code on MySqueezebox.com and Tidal's
system. (Rate limiting requests, which is a joy to deal with)

Michael's reached out to his contacts there and hopefully they will be
nice to him.

This one's been bugging me too and it's glad to get confirmation it's
not something I've done. When I've got a 10 year old who can't dance
around her room I feel the pressure

(I'm a software architect by trade)

@Michael, if you want a few end users to raise tickets directly with
Tidal, let us know.

Tidal worked for a long time. but today i got a 'login failed' message
within my Daphile LMS
Login to Tidal via native tidal app on computer works flawlessly.
unfortunately logon try on mysqueezebox.com gives me the error message
'Invalid phone number or password'.

I've tried:
- Deleting the login and re-adding
- Deleting the app and re-installing
- Restarting the server
- Logging out and back into my squeezebox.com

None of which have fixed the issue.  

Anyone have any suggestions?

Well, as a Swiss myself I was more interested in the geographical aspect 
of the question. I wanted to know whether it could be a local issue. But 
from what I've found it seems to be a global problem.


Unfortunately the contact I tried to reach must have left for the 
Holidays already. And the person his autoresponse told me to get in 
touch with, too. Didn't try the name in her autoresponse yet... this 
might take until the new year to get resolved :-(.

I also have this issue. Sometimes I have a wait a few hours and then
suddenly it works.

Hi 

I am repeatedly having this issue too. Squeezebox.com say's my account
to Tidal is fine, but LMS can't validate the account, and therefore
Ipeng won't play TIDAL. I've tried restarting services, logging in and
out etc... but it's not playing. 

Anything I can do?
